Abstract
Building Information Modelling (BIM) is a new technology introduced in the construction industry with a positive impact. BIM could increase the efficiency and effectiveness of a project procurement system. Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) is inherits to utilize BIM's potential advantages by the American Institute of Architects. However, a traditional procurement system owned a segregated process. The segregated process might have caused a limitation of project delivery in terms of integration and collaboration of the project team. This research aims to identify the factors affecting the procurement selection in the BIM-based project. The research scoped down for BIM players, who are currently involved in BIM project development. Data was collected through semi-structured interview process. A total of eight respondents were interviewed for the purpose of this research. From the findings, the factors to be taken into consideration in procurement selection such as information factor, risks allocation, cost and time factors, coordination and collaboration. From the research, respondents stated that there is a need to increase the collaboration among the pertinent parties. In a nutshell, the research analysis indicated the information factors are mostly concerning in selecting procurement for BIM project.
