A measure of the wind energy system's performance is given by the amount of annual energy production. In the paper, an analytical model is developed to evaluate the main influence of the wind turbine's reliability in the energy system performance. First, the analytical model evaluates the amount of annual energy production from a wind turbine, based on the Weibull distribution of wind speed and the power curve of wind turbine. Second, this model is employed in an analysis study of annual energy production from a wind farm, based on the number and the reliability indices of the wind turbine units.","PeriodicalId":382406,"journal":{"name":"2012 13th International Conference on Optimization of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (OPTIM)","volume":"559 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116649548","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The control strategy makes use of a modified I-f starting procedure and then switches seamlessly to sensorless speed control. Soft-switching for the six-step commutation pattern is considered. It will be shown that the current absorbed from the battery contains consistent information that can be used to determine the commutation points; the detection of the zero-crossing of the back-emf are obtained from an observer that uses both current and battery voltage. The case study is represented by a surface permanent magnet synchronous motor prototype (6 /8 configuration), designed for the automotive air conditioning compressor drive.","PeriodicalId":382406,"journal":{"name":"2012 13th International Conference on Optimization of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (OPTIM)","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115367318","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

On one hand, a FEM-based analysis examines the ill effects upon the magnetic field, as main concern, and a few electric and mechanical parameters. On the other hand, a study of the transitory regime (including no-load startup and sudden loading) is employed under Simulink environment. To this aim, an original equation system, developed by the authors and called “in total fluxes” is used. The both analyses take into discussion a 3.5kW cage induction motor and two unbalanced degrees. Among other effects, the results put in view the huge influence of the voltage unbalances upon the torque and speed smoothness, which finally turns into vibrations and noise.","PeriodicalId":382406,"journal":{"name":"2012 13th International Conference on Optimization of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (OPTIM)","volume":"61 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115647246","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The differences were obtained and determined while testing two types of supercapacitors with cycling temperature, DC charge discharge and electric impedance spectroscopy procedures. To anticipate the behavior of such devices in applications of electric vehicles and hybrid electric vehicles, the corresponding models were necessary to be determined. The testing procedures were necessary for determining the values of the parameters used in the modeling process and for validating the developed electric models. In the present paper, the results of the experiments were interpreted, the specific parameters were identified and the electrical models were determined.","PeriodicalId":382406,"journal":{"name":"2012 13th International Conference on Optimization of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (OPTIM)","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115803727","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The method's advantage is the use of calculation expressions with per unit variables, without any direct dependence on the geometrical dimensions, which allow a quicker estimation of the energetic parameters based on the furnace capacity and physical properties of the charge. The qualitative analysis that argues the method leads to several conclusions useful for the ones who are involved in designing or exploiting crucible induction furnaces.","PeriodicalId":382406,"journal":{"name":"2012 13th International Conference on Optimization of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (OPTIM)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116116479","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper analyzes the performances obtained by design and simulation of a permanent magnet synchronous generator with a specialized software package that uses FEM (Finite Element Method). A low speed three phase generator with external rotor topology was considered for the study. By the arrangement of permanent magnets in the rotor structure and the adopted direction of magnetization, it was aimed to obtain sinusoidal induced voltages in the stator windings. In this case it is also obtained a high resistance to demagnetization of the permanent magnets. Simulation results are presented for both load and no-load regimes of the generator.","PeriodicalId":382406,"journal":{"name":"2012 13th International Conference on Optimization of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (OPTIM)","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114915891","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Dependable computing is also a major concern with the various new technologies that are being investigated to overcome the physical limitations of CMOS technology. 3D integration, though initially proposed as a way of achieving speedup of integrated circuits without the need for scaling, offers many new opportunities for dependable computing. 3D integration adds two new dimensions to the design space: (i) the z-dimension, as now the application can be mapped on parts of the circuit that are placed in different planes, and (ii) the R-dimension as different planes can be selected with different reliabilities. This greatly expands the solution space and provides many opportunities to deal with new and existing challenges. In this paper we identify important strategies to achieve dependable computing by exploring the opportunities that 3D integration offers. We present systems level approaches for alleviating underlying technology reliability shortcomings and investigate the opportunities opened up by TSV-based 3D integration with emphasis on the system reliability point of view. Our investigation clearly indicates that the proposed 3D dependable computing paradigms, if developed and further explored, can facilitate the continuation of the trend of reducing package size and increasing transistor densities, and allow for the successful utilization of novel emerging unreliable devices.","PeriodicalId":382406,"journal":{"name":"2012 13th International Conference on Optimization of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (OPTIM)","volume":"52 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123378677","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper presents a study concerning the influence of the mineral oil ageing condition on the flow electrification phenomenon. The flow electrification current has been measured with a spinning disk system on unaged and thermally aged at T = 135°C mineral oil samples, for different time durations. In order to evaluate the degradation condition of the oil samples, the values of the complex permittivity components, loss factor and electric conductivity components were determined. The results have revealed the fact that the ageing of mineral oil worsens its dielectric properties and favors the flow electrification phenomenon, respectively the surface charge density at the oil-pressboard interface increases with the ageing time.","PeriodicalId":382406,"journal":{"name":"2012 13th International Conference on Optimization of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (OPTIM)","volume":"145 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124889728","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
