The method's advantage is the use of calculation expressions with per unit variables, without any direct dependence on the geometrical dimensions, which allow a quicker estimation of the energetic parameters based on the furnace capacity and physical properties of the charge. The qualitative analysis that argues the method leads to several conclusions useful for the ones who are involved in designing or exploiting crucible induction furnaces.","PeriodicalId":382406,"journal":{"name":"2012 13th International Conference on Optimization of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (OPTIM)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116116479","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper analyzes the performances obtained by design and simulation of a permanent magnet synchronous generator with a specialized software package that uses FEM (Finite Element Method). A low speed three phase generator with external rotor topology was considered for the study. By the arrangement of permanent magnets in the rotor structure and the adopted direction of magnetization, it was aimed to obtain sinusoidal induced voltages in the stator windings. In this case it is also obtained a high resistance to demagnetization of the permanent magnets. Simulation results are presented for both load and no-load regimes of the generator.","PeriodicalId":382406,"journal":{"name":"2012 13th International Conference on Optimization of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (OPTIM)","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114915891","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Dependable computing is also a major concern with the various new technologies that are being investigated to overcome the physical limitations of CMOS technology. 3D integration, though initially proposed as a way of achieving speedup of integrated circuits without the need for scaling, offers many new opportunities for dependable computing. 3D integration adds two new dimensions to the design space: (i) the z-dimension, as now the application can be mapped on parts of the circuit that are placed in different planes, and (ii) the R-dimension as different planes can be selected with different reliabilities. This greatly expands the solution space and provides many opportunities to deal with new and existing challenges. In this paper we identify important strategies to achieve dependable computing by exploring the opportunities that 3D integration offers. We present systems level approaches for alleviating underlying technology reliability shortcomings and investigate the opportunities opened up by TSV-based 3D integration with emphasis on the system reliability point of view. Our investigation clearly indicates that the proposed 3D dependable computing paradigms, if developed and further explored, can facilitate the continuation of the trend of reducing package size and increasing transistor densities, and allow for the successful utilization of novel emerging unreliable devices.","PeriodicalId":382406,"journal":{"name":"2012 13th International Conference on Optimization of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (OPTIM)","volume":"52 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123378677","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper presents a study concerning the influence of the mineral oil ageing condition on the flow electrification phenomenon. The flow electrification current has been measured with a spinning disk system on unaged and thermally aged at T = 135°C mineral oil samples, for different time durations. In order to evaluate the degradation condition of the oil samples, the values of the complex permittivity components, loss factor and electric conductivity components were determined. The results have revealed the fact that the ageing of mineral oil worsens its dielectric properties and favors the flow electrification phenomenon, respectively the surface charge density at the oil-pressboard interface increases with the ageing time.","PeriodicalId":382406,"journal":{"name":"2012 13th International Conference on Optimization of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (OPTIM)","volume":"145 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124889728","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Detection and diagnosis of incipient faults are desirable in order to ensure product quality and improved operational efficiency of electrical equipment and to avoid the power off from supply mains. In order to do the diagnosis there are analyzed noises from the microphones and vibration from the piezoelectric accelerometer. The microphones are installed around of the frame of the equipment and the accelerometer is mounted on the frame's motor. The Fast Fourier Transform is applied to the acquired signals. We observe significant noise and vibration spectrum differences between “healthy” motors and fault's electrical motor. The high-frequency spectral analysis of noise and vibration provides a method to detect motors faults.","PeriodicalId":382406,"journal":{"name":"2012 13th International Conference on Optimization of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (OPTIM)","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121671089","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The FLC has as input variables the change in mechanical power (ΔPm), the change in rotor speed (Δω), and the sign of ΔPm/Δω. The change of reference generator current (ΔI*) is the output variable. For small power applications, when the turbine inertia is relatively small, and the wind speed changes continuously, it is important to consider the transients in order to develop an accurate theoretical model and to attain optimal operation. Therefore, the mechanical power (Pm) is composed of the generator mechanical (input) power (Pg) plus the dynamic power, resulting in the dynamic power versus rotating speed curve. The controller is able to track the maximum power point for changing wind conditions, and is robust with respect to turbine parameter changes. The FLC is described, analyzed and validated by digital simulations.","PeriodicalId":382406,"journal":{"name":"2012 13th International Conference on Optimization of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (OPTIM)","volume":"92 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124772925","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The capacitance affects the resonant frequency, output power, heating efficiency and power factor. In this paper, with consideration to the function of equivalent series resistance (ESR), optimal capacitance is calculated. The induction heating resonance capacitor is achieved by using Smart Bacteria Foraging Algorithm (SBFA) under voltage and frequency constraints for minimizing cost function that is including: increasing the output power, efficiency of an induction heater, while decreasing the power loss of the capacitor. The proposed algorithm mimics chemotactic behavior of E. Coli bacteria to optimize parameters. The proposed algorithm enjoys individual and social intelligence. Based on the equivalent circuit model of an induction heating system, the output power, and the capacitor losses are calculated. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by computer simulations, also improving the obtained results using SBFA are compared to classical bacteria foraging algorithm BFA.","PeriodicalId":382406,"journal":{"name":"2012 13th International Conference on Optimization of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (OPTIM)","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125497073","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
