For example, it was shown that water can suffer some changes in its physico-chemical properties (REDOX potential, pH, etc.) due to the variations of intensity and/or frequency. The idea of certain modifications to the actual structure of the water when exposed to electromagnetic sources was criticized due to the low energy of the electromagnetic fields used (similar to the fields from cellular communication systems), which are weak fields compared to the microwaves radiant fields producing mainly thermal effects. The situation is complicated by the fact that most studied effects depend on the composition of the water and/or the environmental conditions.","PeriodicalId":382406,"journal":{"name":"2012 13th International Conference on Optimization of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (OPTIM)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125271518","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The mathematical model of the amplification factors of the current flowing on the circuit elements is presented. Theoretical aspects, regarding the total harmonic distortion (THD) of the capacitor current computed using the amplification factor, are originally presented. Nonlinear loads as six pulse rectifier and National Instruments measurement sensors together with LabView software were used on the laboratory set-up. The main instrument of the method is the harmonic impedance, “seen” in the bus of the capacitor bank switching. MatLab Simulink is used for the determination of the harmonic impedance.","PeriodicalId":382406,"journal":{"name":"2012 13th International Conference on Optimization of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (OPTIM)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129766109","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Its purpose is to reduce the luminous flux of the luminaries efficiently by reducing their voltage supply, resulting in the improvement of energy efficiency in the installation. The system is basically composed of electromagnetic components which provide robustness and high-performance to the device, as well as minimum maintenance requirements. However, the voltage regulation is based on the application of voltage steps. Aging studies of the luminaries have been carried out to analyze the impact of this discrete voltage regulation. A specific prototype of this voltage and stabilizer regulator have been in operation in a real outdoor lighting installation for more than one year.","PeriodicalId":382406,"journal":{"name":"2012 13th International Conference on Optimization of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (OPTIM)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130796935","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The seeds of three hemp cultivars (Finola, Bialobrzeskie, and Carmagnola) were pre-treated in Plasonic AR-550-M and GlidArc apparatuses for three time expositions (180 s, 300 s, and 600 s). Commercial Plasonic AR-550-M apparatus was not suitable for plasma pre-treatment, because all seeds were obviously under a big stress. GlidArc device was suitable. GlidArc plasma pre-treatment positively affected the seeds of the cultivar Finola in all tested expositions above all. Seedling acceleration on the fifth day of the experiment showed higher values than control sample (153% in length and 127% in weight of seedlings). Although tested cultivars were taxonomically very similar, high differences in response to plasma pre-treatment were found.","PeriodicalId":382406,"journal":{"name":"2012 13th International Conference on Optimization of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (OPTIM)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131228030","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper proposes a performance index, “Q/loss”, based on the energy loss share of the MVAR flows. If computed with powers, the performance index is time-dependent and characterizes one grid operating regime. Calculated on energy basis, it stamps the quality of the MVAR control over a period of time. As outlined by simulations conducted for various IEEE test-systems as well as on a region of the Romanian transmission grid, the performance index ranges from few percent to some 15%. The energy loss related to the MVAR flows can be either be allocated to the grid operator or carried over the corresponding ancillary service: reactive power supply for voltage regulation.","PeriodicalId":382406,"journal":{"name":"2012 13th International Conference on Optimization of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (OPTIM)","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129652167","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The output characteristics of PV cell depend on the environmental conditions. For any solar cell, the model parameters are function of the temperature and the irradiance values of the site where the panel is placed. In this paper the performances of PV cells are analysed related to the different irradiance level by using the circuit sensitivity. Therefore the model parameters of the equivalent circuits for typical PV cell are characterized by first-order sensitivity relations. LabVIEW and MatLab applications are implemented to prove the theoretical models. Numerical examples taken from real case on PV cells are provided.","PeriodicalId":382406,"journal":{"name":"2012 13th International Conference on Optimization of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (OPTIM)","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126150947","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The ideal candidate for such a mobile terminal radio receiver front-end is the Software Defined Radio Receiver (SDRR). The main challenge the designer must overcome is the SDRR circuit level design optimization, while considering the large amount of information comprised in the envisaged wireless standards. By driving the SDRR design through an initial system level analysis, based on a standard independent systematic methodology, the useful information is structured. Thus, a SDRR design recipe is developed based on the circuit / transistor level designer perspective.","PeriodicalId":382406,"journal":{"name":"2012 13th International Conference on Optimization of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (OPTIM)","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114227903","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To keep a simple design, the authors considered only parametric disturbances of the process coefficients. In this particular case, inertia is the uncertainty parameter. To avoid the uncertainty problem, usage of the H∞ robust control theory is proposed. As a first step, all the equations of the motor must be defined and presented in the state space domain. As a further step, a H∞ controller is designed by using the H∞ robust control theory. This allows the variation of inertia into a predefined range. While the selection of the weighting functions is not unique, finding them is an important problem in the robust control design. In most of the cases such functions can be either low pass filters or band pass filters. The authors are proposing a method to cope with the required system performance. The design and the experimental results are done in Matlab.","PeriodicalId":382406,"journal":{"name":"2012 13th International Conference on Optimization of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (OPTIM)","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114483850","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
