Fast and noninvasive, it enables an early detection of some dog's cardiac abnormalities, as arrhythmias and murmurs, in less than 60</span> <!-->seconds and in normal examination conditions, without hair shaving, wireless, without clamps or sticky electrodes and without immobilization. It combines 2 essential signals in cardiology, keeping their natural synchronicity: electrocardiogram and phonocardiogram. Recordings were obtained in 44 dogs from 30 different breeds, with age ranging from 2,5 months to 19 years and weight from 2<!--> <!-->kg to 36<!--> <!-->kg, in thin and obese individuals with different types of hair, in healthy animals or dogs presenting with different cardiac diseases. Very satisfying results were achieved: the device has many experimental assets to perform a cardiac examination on a dog with no stress induced, by easy and fast recording in every type of dog and enabling to precisely measure the heart rate and to detect rhythm disorders from good quality electrocardiograms, according to age and weight of dogs.</p></div><div><p>Cet article introduit un nouveau dispositif médical intelligent, mobile et connecté : Bimod Vet®. Rapide et non invasif, il permet la détection précoce de certaines anomalies cardiaques chez les chiens, comme les arythmies et les souffles, en moins de 60 secondes et dans des conditions d’examen normales, sans tonte, fils, pinces ou électrodes adhésives ni immobilisation de l’animal. Il combine 2 signaux cardiaques essentiels, en conservant leur synchronicité naturelle : l’électrocardiogramme et le phonocardiogramme. Des essais ont porté sur 44 chiens de 30 races différentes, âgés entre 2,5 mois et 19 ans, de poids compris entre 2<!--> <!-->kg et 36<!--> <!-->kg, avec état d’embonpoint variable, pelages différents, sains ou présentant différentes maladies cardiaques. Une enquête auprès de 863 vétérinaires français a été réalisée en 2020 pour établir un état des lieux des pratiques vaccinales en matière de lutte contre la leptospirose canine et pour analyser les facteurs influençant les choix vaccinaux. Elle révèle une utilisation des vaccins L4 par 83,2 % des vétérinaires. Les deux raisons principales invoquées, pour expliquer le recours à un vaccin bivalent ou trivalent plutôt que tétravalent, sont les effets secondaires graves des vaccins L4, dans l’enquête davantage redoutés qu’observés, et un risque d’exposition aux sérogroupes émergeants perçu comme faible. Les prises de position exprimées par les propriétaires et/ou éleveurs de chiens influencent également les choix vaccinaux. Les résultats de l’enquête pointent l’importance de sensibiliser les vétérinaires et les propriétaires aux risques d’exposition des chiens au sérogroupe Australis, en particulier, à la gravité potentielle des formes cliniques associées à ce sérogroupe et au caractère le plus souvent bénin des effets secondaires des vaccins L4 en dépit de leur fréquence.</p></div><div><p>Quadrivalent vaccines against canine leptospirosis (L4), adapted to the current European epidemiology of the disease, are a matter of controversies in France and in many European countries regarding their safety and the benefit-risk balance. A survey of 863 French veterinarians was carried out in 2020 to establish an inventory of vaccine habits against canine leptospirosis and to analyze the factors influencing vaccine choices. It revealed that L4 vaccines were used by 83.2 % of veterinarians. The fear of having more serious side effects by using L4 vaccines and the perceived risk of exposure to emerging serogroups as low seem to be the two main reasons explaining the use of bivalent or trivalent vaccines rather than tetravalent ones. The opinion of dog owners and/or breeders concerning vaccines also seemed to influence the vaccine choices. Two dogs separately had a mass on the shoulder girdle and the caudal part of the elbow of their respective right forelimbs upon presentation for clinical attention in two private veterinary clinics in Abuja, Nigeria. These solitary and well-demarcated masses were characterized by fibroblastic and vascular proliferation along with focal hemorrhage, mononuclear cellular infiltration, and fatty degenerative changes. Nevertheless, histomorphological lesions and positive immunoreactivity for vimentin, α-SMA, and desmin, as well as negative CD31, CD34, and CD117 immunoreactivity led to a definitive diagnosis of nodular fasciitis. Les chiens représentaient 93,73 % des cas de plaies contre 6,27 % chez les chats. La tête et le cou représentaient 37,97 % des zones les plus affectées chez le chien et le chat. Il existait une relation très significative entre la localisation et le degré de contamination de la plaie (<em>p</em> <!-->=<!--> <!-->0,0001). Les plaies simples et contaminées et les plaies par écartement des tissus mous représentaient 40,99 % et 48,22 % des affections traitées en clinique, respectivement. Les traumatismes (25,44 %) et les plaies chirurgicales (3,13 %) représentaient les causes des plaies les plus récurrentes chez les chiens et chats, respectivement. En prémédication, l’acépromazine était largement utilisée (35,44 %). En induction, la molécule privilégiée par les vétérinaires était la kétamine (11,63 %). La pénicilline (ß-lactamines) était la plus sollicitée (24,06 %) pour tout type de plaies. La molécule antiseptique la plus utilisée était la polyvidone-iodée<!--> <!-->+<!--> <!-->spray (34,36 %) pour le lavage des plaies. Les méthodes de traitement étaient principalement conservatrices (parage, lavage, anti-inflammatoires, antibiotiques, pansement).</p></div><div><p>In order to characterize wounds and their management in dogs and cats, a study was conducted in 9 veterinary clinics in the city of Yaounde, Cameroon from 2008 to 2021. Dogs represented 93.73% of wound cases against 6.27% in cats. The head and neck accounted for 37.97% of the most affected areas in dogs and cats. There was a very significant relationship between location and degree of wound contamination (<em>p</em> <!-->=<!--> <!-->0.0001). Uncomplicated and contaminated wounds and open wounds accounted for 40.99% and 48.22% of clinically treated conditions, respectively. Trauma (25.44%) and surgical wounds (3.13%) were the most common causes of wounds in dogs and cats, respectively. In premedication, acepromazine was widely used (35.44%). In induction, the molecule favored by veterinarians was ketamine (11.63%). Penicillin (ß-lactams) was the most requested (24.06%) for all types of wounds. The most used antiseptic molecule was povidone-iodine<!--> <!-->+<!--> <!-->spray (34.36%) for washing wounds.
