It is defined as the complete cleaving of the three uterine layers. The pregnancy distention leads to alteration of the uterine wall fibers, especially in the low resistance points like surgical scars. World Health Organization realized an extensive systematic review to determine the prevalence of uterine rupture. A lower prevalence was seen in developed countries and higher rates for least developed countries. The incidence of uterine rupture in women with caesarean section is estimated to be 1% and without caesarean section is as low as 0.006%. Although the uterine scar is the main feature of uterine rupture, other contributing influences on untoward outcomes must be promptly recognized. The aim of this paper was to assess the frequency of uterine ruptures in a tertiary referral center, to identify risk factors and symptoms for complete and partial uterine rupture before labor, common symptoms of uterine rupture, multidisciplinary approach, and emergency surgical management.","PeriodicalId":380281,"journal":{"name":"Medicina Moderna - Modern Medicine","volume":"44 1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123702265","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In recent years, surgical techniques for donor sampling and uterine transplant have evolved, reducing complications that, along with proper immunosuppressive treatment, reduce the chances of rejection and improve obstetric outcomes, leading to increased live births. Pregnancy can be obtained by embryo transfer after ensuring that the graft is stable. Not being a life-saving transplant, after birth, the uterus can be kept for a new pregnancy, or a hysterectomy can be performed.","PeriodicalId":380281,"journal":{"name":"Medicina Moderna - Modern Medicine","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127913215","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The large number of complications result from the association of high blood glucose level with vascular damage, neuropathy, poor healing and overall increased atherosclerosis process. The clinical manifestation of these complications involves a wide range of manifestations from simple lesions to complexpathology, many of them requiring surgical treatment. Surgical implications of diabetes mellitus include diabetic foot syndrome, soft tissue infections, renal impairment and abdominal pathology.","PeriodicalId":380281,"journal":{"name":"Medicina Moderna - Modern Medicine","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115932943","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The use of conventional medication can be associated with insufficient clinical management and serious side effects. The present study aims to evaluate the anti-arthritic activity and chondrocytes protection and regeneration potential of Joint Support Product (JSP) in monosodium Iodoacetate induced Osteoarthritis rat model. Pain threshold, knee joint swelling, Blood inflammatory parameters like Tissue necrosis factor, Interlukin-6, Leukotriene B 4, C- reactive protein and arthritic biomarkers Matrix metalloproteinase-13 and Cartilage Oligomeric Matrix Protein, were estimated. Also Radiographic and histopathological evaluation were done to estimate the severity of OA. Treatment of JSP demonstrated significant increase in pain threshold by 68 % and decrease in knee joint swelling by 92 %. The inflammatory markers decreased significantly (p< .00001) after treatment with JSP. The Tissue necrosis factor decreased by 55 %, Interlukin-6 by 61%, Leukotriene B 4 by 57%, C- reactive protein by 69 % and arthritic biomarkers - Matrix metalloproteinase by 88% and Cartilage Oligomeric Matrix Protein by 37% as compared to disease control rats. Also the radiological evaluation and gross histopathology of rats showed improved chondrocytes structure. Thus JSP’s analgesic, anti-inflammatory, chondrocyte regeneration, and chondroprotective properties have therefore demonstrated an anti-arthritic impact.","PeriodicalId":380281,"journal":{"name":"Medicina Moderna - Modern Medicine","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127219781","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main objective of this study was to identify the prevalence of gout in a rheumatology department in Romania and secondary to describe the characteristics of patients diagnosed with this condition, with emphasis on the comorbidities. This is a longitudinal, retrospective study on 280 patients from the Department of Internal Medicine and Rheumatology, Dr I Cantacuzino Hospital, from January 2017 to May 2019, diagnosed with chronic or acute gout. The prevalence of gout in our hospital in 2 years period was 0.97%. Gouty attack was diagnosed in 38.2% of cases, while 61.8% were evaluated for chronic gout. Male frequency was 69.6%, alcohol consummation was observed in more than half of the cohort (53.2%) and 72.1% were retired persons. The most frequent comorbidity was hypertension (HBP) (82.1%) followed by dyslipidemia (65.3%), atherosclerotic disease(ATS) (55.0%) and chronic kidney disease (53.9%). There was a significant association between HBP, ATS and dyslipidemia with chronic gout (p=0.038, p=0.022 and p=0.009, respectively). The rate of gouty attack significantly increased with the serum level of uric acid (p<0.001). The therapeutic approach complies with international recommendations.","PeriodicalId":380281,"journal":{"name":"Medicina Moderna - Modern Medicine","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123137228","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this position, we must not let ourselves be influenced, in any way, by the judgment of the first clinician, who formed a diagnosis. But not judging the “evidence” that led to the formation of the first diagnosis is difficult. This case presentation reveals the influence of a diagnosis assumed to be correct from the first interpretation. The patient, from the rural area, presents herself to the doctor following a trauma from falling down the stairs. A soft tissue ultrasound is performed and it is interpreted to be a hematoma. Afterwards, the lesion stagnates in size without progressing towards resorption. After repeating the ultrasound, its interpretation is influenced by the first ultrasound investigation supporting the same diagnosis. As a result, the patient is not guided to make a radical therapeutic decision. The presentation in our clinic was decided by the patient for a “second opinion” and, as a result, all the investigations carried out did not take into account the results previously stated by the patient during the clinical examination in the specialized outpatient clinic. The tumor was one with unimpressive dimensions but disturbing in appearance, without influencing the functionality of the forearm. The patient does not complain of pain or paresthesia in the area occupied by the tumor. She was clinging to deep plans and immovable in front of them.","PeriodicalId":380281,"journal":{"name":"Medicina Moderna - Modern Medicine","volume":"49 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123006238","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For recurrent cases, the salvage radiotherapy option (re-irradiation) can be chosen in carefully selected cases so that the benefit is greater than the toxicities. Radiomics, a new subdomain of artificial intelligence (AI), relies on advanced analysis in high-resolution medical imaging to establish diagnostic, prognostic and predictive models for clinical medicine. The variation of the delta-radiomics parameters analyzed within a tumor volume may be via tumor heterogeneity indirectly correlated with the response to treatment. The aim of the study is to propose a delta-radiomic based on entropy algorithm to allow the non-invasive pre-therapeutic identification of patients with unresectable or recurrent multiform glioblastoma who will benefit from irradiation and/or salvage re-irradiation.","PeriodicalId":380281,"journal":{"name":"Medicina Moderna - Modern Medicine","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126057372","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Their starting point is found in the digestive tract, and can appear anywhere along it. Normally, in the human body cells go through the processes of development, division and then apoptosis. In the case of gastro-intestinal stromal tumors, the cells divide continuously and the process of apoptosis is no longer carried out, forming these tumors, which can be benign or malignant. The essential medical treatment used in the case of gastrointestinal stromal tumors is Imatinib, which has the role of preventing the growth or even regression in size of the tumor in most cases. The specificity marker for GIST is represented by c-KIT protein, and immunohistochemically, the majority of gastrointestinal stromal tumors show positivity for CD34 and c-KIT. There are also extragastro-intestinal stromal tumors, for example located in the liver, duodenum, pancreas, but they are extremely rare, being considered rather as metastases from the primary tumor.","PeriodicalId":380281,"journal":{"name":"Medicina Moderna - Modern Medicine","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125740308","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
