This study helps in presenting a technique for the torque measurement that consists of two different shafts mounted on tapes of zebra and sensors that are optical on the rigid support. It is an adaptable design that is simple to install, thereby making it accurate for the use of advanced engineering applications. These measurements could be achieved by the enhancements of cross-correlation and rising edge detection techniques. It helps to enhance the performance of the systems under both variable and static conditions by increasing the torque inducer. Uncertainty measurement could be achieved with the help of GUM ISO. An analysis of Type A in the data provided in the experiments helps in providing a torque full-scaling of 0.30% and 0.90% in the approaches of cross-correlation, respectively. In this study, the statistical simulations have been performed with the help of Monte Carlo method with an expected 1.19% uncertainty.","PeriodicalId":37633,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Namibian Studies","volume":"44 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80863963","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Downtime in the braking system assembly line can lead to utilization loss or technical availability loss. In this context, many proactive maintenance strategies are explored but there's limited focus on addressing error-prone machines and utilizing Machine Learning for predicting downtime. The objective is to prioritize downtime reduction through error analysis, critical machine identification, and implementing ML-based solutions.
 This comprehensive research delved into the significance of minimizing downtime in the braking system final assembly line through meticulous data analysis, visualization techniquesand targeted interventions and then identified key issues and achieved tangible improvements in operational efficiency. The analysis revealed significant findings and then employed the Pareto Principle to identify top downtime machines, illustrating their distribution through a Pareto chart of machine defects. Furthermore, Exceptions and Problem Areas were identified utilizing statistical process controls, offering insights into critical error contributors. Notably, a comprehensive exploration of the most prominent downtime machine was undertaken, evidenced by LCL and UCL charts and a Fishbone Diagram detailing causal relationships. The research leverages real-world data involving dates, machine names, and downtime durations to develop a predictive model that aids in proactively managing production disruptions.
 The application of RPN calculations before and after error correction demonstrated a substantial reduction from of 432 to 75, validating the efficacy of the corrective actions. The real-time data was used to build a model that can predict when production machines downtime might happen. This helps us be prepared and manage any possible disruptions in production.The outcome of the project highlights the intrinsic link between downtime reduction and assembly line efficiency, emphasizing the importance of data-driven interventions. This culminated in the resolution of key issues, illustrated by the mitigation of the PCBA Pressin machine and LVDT sensor errors, yielding tangible reductions in downtime and notable productivity improvements. In this direction, exploring AI-driven predictive maintenance holds immense potential for advancing downtime reduction strategies. Leveraging AI algorithms to analyse live data streams from machinery and sensors can enable the detection of patterns indicating imminent failures and can pre-emptively prevent downtime.","PeriodicalId":37633,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Namibian Studies","volume":"57 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135597514","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With governments implementing restrictions and consumers concerned about potential health risks associated with in-store buying, there has been a notable surge in online shopping. However, since late 2022, governments have started easing regulations, and consumers are gradually returning to brick-and-mortar establishments. The primary objective of this study is to investigate the factors influencing internet shopping following the pandemic. A retrospective quantitative study was conducted over two periods, focusing on the same sample of consumers in Lebanon and Iraq. The findings reveal that previous online purchasing experiences, attitudes toward online shopping, and perceived usefulness all play crucial roles in shaping online shopping intentions in the post-COVID-19 era.","PeriodicalId":37633,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Namibian Studies","volume":"16 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86453683","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is also one of the 21 major tributary rivers of Laguna de Bay that has a substantial contribution of 15% to the total lake water. This study aims to determine water quality in part of Liliw-Nagcarlan, Laguna of the Santa Cruz River in 2011 and 2022 and to identify the sub-watershed experiencing changes in water quality. There are three sites used for sampling (Talahibing, Bangkuro, and Lapad rivers). Physicochemical and hydrometry were measured in situ. Temperature, pH, and conductivity are within the normal limits. However, dissolved oxygen was generally above the normal limits based on the DENR Water Quality Guidelines. The results showed that the water quality in 2011 and 2022 was projected to change. The number of settlements, recreational activities, and nature park areas increased while the riparian vegetation decreased. The change in land cover will affect the water quality. The result of the assessment for the temperature and conductivity in 2022 was higher compared to 2011. The increase that occurred was influenced by the reduced dissolved oxygen and the pH level, which can cause fish kills and create significant harm to ecosystems. Flowrate was higher from 2022 compared to 2011, since the temperature increased, and the dissolved oxygen levels decreased from this study. Important correlations between the different parameters and the year of the study were proved.","PeriodicalId":37633,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Namibian Studies","volume":"9 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76717438","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Smart technologies, particularly the Internet of Things (IoT), have revolutionized the way people live and work. In this research paper, we explore the implementation of smart office technology, which includes connectivity and collaboration solutions, to enhance the productivity and safety of employees. For instance, smart parking systems enable employees to plan their commutes ahead of time, while smart meeting room solutions facilitate the selection of the most suitable meeting room for a team based on specific criteria. Furthermore, we discuss the use of IoT devices to limit natural pollution and adopt renewable energy in the office, such as air, sun, and rainwater harvesting. We also consider the implementation of a firewall in our server to ensure the security of our smart office network. By combining these smart concepts and systems, we can create a more efficient, secure, and eco-friendly workplace.","PeriodicalId":37633,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Namibian Studies","volume":"138 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135237642","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Large disparities in health infrastructure and access to healthcare remain and have even gotten worse within and among groups, among rural and urban areas, and throughout states. Despite the fact that member nations of the World Health Organization began to support the idea of health care for all as early as 2005, India has yet to accomplish these goals, unlike numerous other low-income nations. The continual issue of meeting the needs of the most marginalised Indian society is one that the country's health care system must continue to grapple with. Recent progress in access to healthcare caused by various initiatives, the states continue to face serious problems with regard to the affordability and accessibility of health-related services for the poor. Inequalities in the cost and accessibility of health treatments by socio - economic level, location, and gender are still present. This is mostly caused by the numerous obstacles that make it difficult to get essential medical care. The present crisis of public health infrastructure in rural regions and other aspects of health services in India are critically examined and evaluated in this perspective.","PeriodicalId":37633,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Namibian Studies","volume":"48 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"88499805","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
