In this paper, we are interested in a new approach to optimizing the likelihood function of a distribution using the Alienor method. Indeed, the Alienor method is an optimization technique that allows to reduce a multivariate optimization problem to a single variable optimization problem that is easy to solve numerically. For this purpose, we consider the Katz and COM-Poisson distributions, whose maximization of their likelihood functions requires numerical methods. In a first step, we used real data, and, in a second step, we performed a simulation study. The results obtained are satisfactory, and the Alienor method proves to be very interesting in statistics, both for its simplicity and for its performance in converging to the absolute optimum.","PeriodicalId":361024,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Computer Science and Applied Mathematics","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122640399","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

K. Menger in1942 introduced the notion of probabilistic metric space (or statistical space or Menger Space) which is an important generalization of metric space and the study of this space was expanded rapidly with the pioneering work of B. Schweizer and A. Skalar [21] in 1960 and the work of V.M. Sehgal and A.T. Bharucha Reid [23] in 1972. This space broadens in weakly compatible in Menger space by Singh and Jain [24], B.D. Pant et. al [16] and this notion also extend to occasionally weakly compatible by AI. Thapagi and Shahzad [27]. The purpose of this paper is to establish a common fixed point result in Menger space in two pairs and three pairs of mappings by using occasionally weakly compatible mappings. Our first theorem generalizes the theorem of Sharma and Shahu [28] and B. Fisher et.al [29] and both theorems deduce some similar results in the literature.","PeriodicalId":361024,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Computer Science and Applied Mathematics","volume":"70 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115087034","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This is a new three-parameter distribution for the analysis and modeling of count data, which we call the new extended Katz distribution. We will study the new distribution from a probabilistic and statistical point of view. We perform a comparison study with an other extension of the Katz distribution with two methods: graphical and goodness-of-fit comparisons. For goodness-of-fit, we have considered the real data and the parameters are estimated by the maximum likelihood method.","PeriodicalId":361024,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Computer Science and Applied Mathematics","volume":"238 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132165007","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
