{"title":"Circumstances for a suicide attempt in perception of managers, health professionals and adolescents.","authors":"Girliani Silva de Sousa, Mariana Peixoto Castilho Frazão, Lucía Silva, Flavia Saraiva Leão Fernandes, Carla Araújo Bastos Teixeira","doi":"10.1590/1983-1447.2026.20250187.en","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1590/1983-1447.2026.20250187.en","url":null,"abstract":"<p><strong>Objective: </strong>To analyze the psychosocial circumstances surrounding adolescent suicide attempts, from the perspectives of the adolescents themselves, healthcare professionals, and CAPSij managers.</p><p><strong>Method: </strong>A qualitative study grounded in dialectical hermeneutics, conducted through semi-structured interviews between January and December 2024 with 27 healthcare professionals, five CAPSij managers, and nine adolescents who had attempted suicide in a metropolitan area of southeastern Brazil. Bardin's content analysis identified three categories: weakened family ties, experiences of violence, and the invisibility of mental suffering.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>Participants indicated that female, Black and Brown adolescents were more vulnerable. Family relationships were marked by conflict and lack of affection. Adolescents reported experiencing physical, psychological, and sexual violence, bullying, racism, and xenophobia. Psychological suffering was evidenced by social isolation, body dissatisfaction, eating disorders, depressive symptoms, non-suicidal self-injury, and socio-emotional difficulties.</p><p><strong>Final considerations: </strong>Adolescent suicide attempts are rooted in multiple psychosocial vulnerabilities, including fragile family ties, various forms of violence, and unacknowledged mental suffering. Data collection took place between April and July 2021, using the photovoice technique associated with semi-structured interviews. The analysis was thematic and conducted with Atlas.ti® software.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>Health routines were organized around childcare and long working hours, with the grandmother playing a central role in family support. Long working hours limited access to primary health care, making it difficult to attend appointments and continue care. Language barriers compromised communication with the teams, influencing adherence to guidelines and health monitoring.</p><p><strong>Conclusion: </strong>Family routines act as determinants of access to Primary Care among migrant families living in the interior. Between August and December 2025, searches were conducted in the following databases: Medline/PubMed; LILACS; Web of Science; EMBASE; CINAHL; BDENF via the Virtual Health Library; CAPES Theses and Dissertations Catalog; Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations; and Google Scholar. Finally, a reverse search was performed to identify possible additional works. The data were analyzed by numerical and thematic synthesis.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>869 studies were identified and, after selection, 21 studies from nine countries were analyzed. The processing resulted in five categories: sexual behaviors; stigma/prejudice; pharmacovigilance; access to health services; and vulnerabilities.</p><p><strong>Conclusion: </strong>Studies from nine countries reveal common patterns, such as lower risk perception, adverse effects, and access barriers, as well as cultural influences and inequalities that amplify vulnerabilities. Thus, the factors contributing to PrEP discontinuation present a multifactorial complexity. The sample consisted of 289 nursing professionals. The study was carried out from January to June 2023, in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico. The Psychological Safety in Healthcare Teams Instrument, the Group Learning Environment Instrument, and the Job Performance in Hospital Nurses Instrument were used. Descriptive statistics and non-parametric inferential statistics, including Spearman's correlation, Mann-Whitney U test, and Multiple Linear Regression with the Bootstrap method, were applied.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>A significant relationship was observed between psychological safety and learning behavior (ρ = .672, p < .01) and between psychological safety and job performance (ρ = .276, p < .01). Furthermore, a significant relationship was observed between learning behavior and job performance (ρ = .384, p < .01). The guide was developed based on institutional recommendations, scientific evidence, and the researchers' practical experience. Content and appearance validation was performed by 45 specialists; the instrument was structured and administered via a digital platform. Agreement was assessed by the percentage of consensus among the specialists.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>The guide was developed with 71 pages, covering guidelines for preparation for 60 types of radiological and imaging examinations. The validation showed an average agreement rate of 95.8%, indicating clarity, relevance, and applicability of the material. Estimated sample of 46 nursing professionals. It took place from August to November 2022 and used a socio-labor questionnaire, blood collection and anthropometric measurements. After collecting the parameters studied, participants received two bottles with 56 capsules of Rosmarinus dry extract (500 mg each) to be ingested twice a day (dose of 1 g/day), for 8 weeks, after the same parameters were collected. Data were analyzed with descriptive and inferential statistics.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>A total of 36 professionals participated. The data were fully transcribed and analyzed using content analysis, supported by the webQDA® software and theoretical grounding based on vulnerability in health.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>Two categories emerged related to the barriers and facilitators of the implementation of Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis. Among the barriers, work overload, structural limitations, and the stigma associated with the HIV were highlighted. Sensitized professionals and continuing education were identified as decisive factors in expanding access to the strategy. Facilitators included multidisciplinary work, institutional training, engagement with users, and coordination with programs aimed at the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender population.</p><p><strong>Conclusion: </strong>Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis is advancing in primary care but faces obstacles. Postpartum women with a gestational age ≥ 37 weeks, admitted to the shared rooms of two maternity hospitals in Paraná, Brazil, were included. Participants were randomly allocated by lottery to Groups: A (local photobiomodulation); B (Intravenous Laser Irradiation of Blood - systemic); C (local and systemic photobiomodulation) or D (control group), received two sessions of the intervention, were followed up in the first month postpartum, and data were collected at five time points.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>58 postpartum women started the study, with a loss to follow-up of 20%. Data were collected between August and September 2024 through interviews. Operative thematic analysis was used, grounded by the theoretical framework of Therapeutic Itineraries guided the deduction of categories.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>three deductive categories were constructed: the folk sector, which includes family, community, and social support networks; the popular sector, consisting of popular knowledge; and the professional sector, represented by the bond and interaction with healthcare services and professionals. From these, nine inductive categories emerged.</p><p><strong>Conclusion: </strong>the therapeutic itinerary of older adults with depressive and/or anxiety disorders was predominantly based on natural and popular resources. Several factors contribute to mental health issues not being recognized, diagnosed, or treated. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with managers (March-June/2023). The incidents were organized into situation-behavior-consequence and subjected to content analysis, with thematic categorization.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>A total of 34 critical incidents were identified, highlighting 41% (n=14) of aspects that favor and 59% (n=20) that hinder the use of auditing in hospital management. The incidents were grouped into thematic categories: Supporting documentation, Audit activities, and Electronic medical records. The results show that managers recognize auditing as a strategic tool for healthcare and financial management, particularly in monitoring document compliance, preventing claim denials, standardizing care flows, and strengthening patient safety. By focusing on processes such as clinical records, prescriptions, billing, and indicator control, auditing objectively contributes to improving the quality of care and institutional sustainability.
