Fertility refers to a fantasy-based and erotic world that is brutally disrupted by the consequences of the disease, particularly those related to treatment. Through the clinical case of a 19-year-old patient in remission for three years following acute lymphoblastic leukemia, this article explores the psychosexual consequences of undiagnosed infertility. To fulfill these missions, the network consists of a staff of five nurses, a pediatric nurse manager, and an assistant. Without language, how can they communicate their distress and needs to us? Already vulnerable because of their dependence, babies find themselves cut off from their environment and their usual routine, and must cope with necessary but stressful medical care. This article presents some data from the literature on the experiences of infants in Picus and offers some thoughts on current methods and possible ways to improve their care.
