One of them is a selection of objects on industry. On a large-scale industry, the process of selection objects is done continuously, and it requires a high degree of accuracy. The work goes on for 24 hours unceasingly, which is hard for human. Therefore, it needs an instrument that works automatically to ease the selection process of objects. In this research, a prototype that separates objects based on shape is conducted. Shape recognition process utilizes canny edge detection method with microcontroller ATmega16 as a whole system controller. According to the testing result, the prototype can recognize and separate objects a circle, square, rectangular, and equilateral triangles. The ratio roundness (metric) values for circle, square, rectangular, and equilateral triangle are 1.00-0.90, 0.90-0.83, 0.81-0.70, and <0.70, respectively. {"title":"WASTEWATER TREATMENT AT MODERATE TEMPERATURES USING UASB REACTOR","authors":"W. Abdel-Halim","doi":"10.53555/eijse.v4i2.165","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.53555/eijse.v4i2.165","url":null,"abstract":"The use of anaerobic biodegradation to treat municipal wastewater is a promising technology, because of the relatively low capital expenditures required and the potential to create biogas, which can be used as a source of energy. The UASB reactor is a high-rate system that operates as a suspended sludge blanket system with granular sludge growth system. Treatment occurs at the contact of the up flow passing wastewater with the sludge blanket at the bottom of the reactor and produced biogas is collected at top of the reactor. The effluent could be used for irrigation, because the included nutrients are not affected by the treatment. Much more interesting at actual time are renewable energies and the retrenchment of CO2-Emission. With the anaerobic treatment of municipal wastewater not only the CO2-Emission could be reduced but also gained “clean” energy supply by biogas. Most important for the sustainability of this process is the gathering of methane from the liquid effluent of the reactor, because the negative climate-relevant effect from the outgassing methane is much higher than the positive effect from saving CO2Emission. In this study UASB reactors were used with a flocculent sludge blanket for the biodegradation of the carbon fraction in the wastewater with different temperatures and concentrations. The SMA was determined and evaluated; also the biogas emission was controlled. Also a static modelling for COD fractioning and SMA was done. This process usually uses lapping, chemical etch or high temperature heating to de-bond the handle wafer. A new technique to release a Pyrex handle wafer using laser ablation is presented. Pulsed energy, from a 248nm excimer laser is delivered transparently through the Pyrex handle wafer. This causes delamination of the bonded silicon structures from the handle wafer. This technique offers fast throughput at chip and wafer levels and protects the fragile and delicate active devices from harsh physical, chemicals and potential thermal stresses. We present a method wherein the handle wafer used in 3-D assembly of a MEMS device was released using laser micromachining. A Pyrex handle wafer rigidly supports anisotropically etched, through-silicon wafer, vertical mirrors during thermo-compression bonding to active MEMS parts. After this first thermo-compression bond, the Pyrex handle wafer was lifted off using laser ablation, leaving clearance for additional bond steps, which includes additional components and a package frame. These protocols have no suitable mechanism for encountering with the overload, so when a server is overloaded, it`s effectiveness is reduced and eventually server’s real throughput reaches zero. To control the overload, various methods have been proposed, but there are some basic challenges presented in presented methods that lead to poor performance while there is an overloaded server in the network. The current study focusing on server – server’s overload, a distributed overload control method, based on dynamic window and implicit feedback is proposed to control overload. In order to extend the originally proposed algorithm which uses the violation of the calling delay from a specific threshold as an incentive for reducing the sending load to downstream proxy, adaptive methods are proposed. The hardware of driving system was introduced in details, and then the designs of high-density PCB, structure and technology, with relevant speed control of nested segment and parameters testing procedures, were employed to improve the driver integration and reliability. A DC servo motor with a rated current of 20 amps is used as a test motor. Present work investigated the effect on material removal rate, tool wear rate and surface roughness with the variation of dielectric flushing pressure during EDM of 10wt.%Al2O3/AA2014. The composite was manufactured via mechanical stir casting route. For carrying out experiments on the available die sinker EDM to observe the influence of flushing pressure, a new external flushing system was developed to achieve high pressure. Kerosene oil was used as dielectric oil instead of EDM oil supplied with the machine. Only pulse current (I) was varied as an EDM input parameter considered whereas voltage (V), pulse on time (Ton) and pulse off time (Toff) were kept constant. It is found that material removal rate invariably increases with an increase in flushing pressure of dielectric oil whereas surface roughness behaves opposite. The objective of this study was to determine the physicochemical characteristics of the raw material used in the fabrication of the Bricks, as a first instance to be able to make future changes for the quality assurance of the process that allow increasing the resistance to compression of the bricks. A mechanical test about the compressive strength of bricks before and after heat treatment was made. In the analysis of elemental composition, the presence of the following elements was found: C, O, Na, Mg, Al, Si, K, Ca, Ti, Fe. These elements allowed to obtain a compressive strength of the bricks of 10 to 13kg/cm2 without heat treatment and 20 to 40 kg/cm2 with heat treatment. Morphologically particles of 5 to 300 micrometres were observed in the raw material, and in the Bricks of 15 to 250 micrometres. It is concluded that the great variation of particle size of the raw material leads to a low compressive strength. Other studies with more control in the homogenization of particle size are suggested to obtain greater compression strength. Besides the temperature control in the kiln used to heat treatment is needed. The International Standard ITINTEC 331,017, and the Standard NMX-C-404-1997, establishes 60N / cm2, and 24kg / cm2 as minimum respectively. The coefficient of drag was obtained numerically for different flow velocities. The study was carried out using a k-ɛ model for an Ahmed body of 25o rear slant. Grid independence studies were carried out prior to the simulation in order to validate the selected turbulence model. It was observed that coefficient of drag decreases with the increase in flow velocity whereas the lift coefficient increases. A maximum of 13.34 % decrease in drag coefficient was observed for inlet flow velocity of 80 m/s.
