In this design, within a horizon-length cycle, a cost function is minimized under a constraint that mathematically represents the dynamic properties of the system under control. In the “Nonlinear Programming” (NLP) approach the state variables as well as the control signals are considered over a discrete time-resolution grid, and the solution is computed by the use of Lagrange's “Reduced Gradient” (RG) method. It provides the “estimated optimal control signals” and the “estimated optimal state variables” over this grid. The controller exerts the estimated control signals but the state variables develop according to the exact dynamics of the system. In this paper an alternative approach is suggested in which, instead of exerting the estimated control signals, the estimated optimized trajectory is adaptively tracked within the given horizon. Simulation investigations are presented for a simple “Linear Time-Invariant” (LTI) model with strongly non-linear cost and terminal cost functions. It is found that the transients of the adaptive controller that appear at the boundaries of the finite-length horizons reduce the available improvement in the tracking precision. In contrast to the traditional RHC, in which decreasing horizon length improves the tracking precision, in our case some increase in the horizon length improves the precision by giving the controller more time to compensate the effects of these transients.","PeriodicalId":352891,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE 15th International Symposium on Intelligent Systems and Informatics (SISY)","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130203531","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This issue can be required from a practical point of view, e.g., for a multi-modal system, which generates measurements described by different distributions. The approach is based on the partition of the data on several parts, the factorization of the joint probability density function according to these parts and the estimation of each conditional mixture separately. Due to the data-based construction of the general model from the estimated components, the most suitable combination of the components is used at each time instant. The illustrative experiments are demonstrated.","PeriodicalId":352891,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE 15th International Symposium on Intelligent Systems and Informatics (SISY)","volume":"45 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114812628","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Two types of SMC are implemented: the traditional one and the robust chattering-free discrete-time SMC. It could be defined as maximal-idle time (limited idle time) and no-wait hybrid flow shop with dedicated machines. Machines on the first stage have a limited idle time interval constraint. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first paper to study constraint of maximal idle time simultaneously with machine set-up for hybrid flow shop problems. The objective is to minimize waste of materials due to machine idle time exceeding α unit. Two mixed integer linear programming models (MIP) with two different objectives are proposed. Using numerical experiments, we compare the results of the first MIP according to makespan minimization and waste minimization.","PeriodicalId":352891,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE 15th International Symposium on Intelligent Systems and Informatics (SISY)","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130071133","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

An incredibly cost-efficient method of acquisition of such visual data can be carried out using a crowdsensing-based approach. Since one of the most important considerations when designing such a system is to make the solution available, or easily accessible, to as many contributors as possible, it is evident to form the aforementioned crowdsensing-based system making use of vision based driver assistance systems. These systems are present in the majority of medium or top class automobiles produced nowadays. By using a laser strip projector, the functionality of one of the most widely used driver assistance systems, the lane keeping system can be extended, while the original operation is not effected. In this paper the simulation prepared for the examination of the qualities of a road surface investigating sensor is presented. Additionally, the results of this simulation are compared with those of a functional model of such an equipment.","PeriodicalId":352891,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE 15th International Symposium on Intelligent Systems and Informatics (SISY)","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131415269","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, an efficient and dependable solution is proposed for the mentioned problem by using machine learning approaches and an image processing algorithm to reduce cost and time. In this regard, a 2-level wavelet transform is applied and statistical features are extracted from wavelet subbands as texture features, and some statistical features from color information as color feature. Afterward, Principle Component Analysis (PCA) is employed. PCA is a dimension reduction algorithm, which can help to remove redundant features on feature vector, and finally a Multi-Layer Preceptron (MLP) neural network is used for training the system. The proposed method was evaluated on two databases and results are reported. Also in this paper, the dataset UTMC.V2.DB is introduced which is set of microorganisms images including the images of UTMC.V1.DB. The accuracy of this method is about %76 on UTMC.V1.DB and about %62 on UTMC.V2.DB.","PeriodicalId":352891,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE 15th International Symposium on Intelligent Systems and Informatics (SISY)","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125343800","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
