For that, 40 text productions from the Corpus de Aprendices (Instituto and Compostela), made by Spanish as a Foreign Language (SFLE) A2 students, were examined quantitatively and qualitatively. The data was compared with a sample from 22 Spanish native speakers with the same social profile: male and female with high level studies and ages from 18 to 40 years old. Results show that Spanish learners know the characteristics of this speech act in the target language, but they do not recognise some linguistic and discourse patterns of its expression. For this reason, we propose some improvements for the teaching of the pragmatic component in the SFL classroom.","PeriodicalId":35168,"journal":{"name":"RLA","volume":"50 1","pages":"63-89"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"88449046","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Spoken samples of normal speakers and individuals diagnosed with 2 variants of non-fluent aphasia were investigated for the current description. The spoken samples were taken from the Spanish Questionnaire (Central Peninsular Spanish Version), adapted for Spanish by Estebas and Prieto (2008) and some unplanned interviews. The sample includes 342 interrogative statements produced by 20 native speakers:10 of them diagnosed with 2 different variants of non-fluent aphasia and 10 individuals with no neurological damage. All of them signed the informed consent. The basis of analysis is the Autosegmental Metrical Theory, known as AM and the intonational transcription system ToBI (Pierrehumbert, 1980; Estebas y Prieto, 2008; Prieto y Roseano, 2010; Hualde y Prieto, 2015). We found that though many intonational patterns are similar to those observed in Santiago de Chile and elsewhere in the Spanish-speaking world, there are some patterns which differ between them. Such differences are considered to be dialectal in nature, as they do not change the meaning of the statement. In the case of non-fluent aphasia patients, large differences were noted concerning the interrogative sentences produced by normal speakers, those that coincide with those already on file from previous studies.","PeriodicalId":35168,"journal":{"name":"RLA","volume":"5 1","pages":"183-204"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"77130300","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Three groups of students in their sixth year of Primary Education participated. Each group worked new vocabulary with a different activity. The first group used reading plus flash cards; the second did the same through reading plus filling the gaps; the third one worked with a crossword. Each activity meets a different number of criteria within the so-called Technique Feature Analysis (Nation and Webb, 2011). This model is specifically designed to explain the lexical processing in a second language. After the activities were done, the participants’ receptive and productive knowledge was tested. The results suggest that this model is sensitive to receptive vocabulary knowledge in second language, while it is not to productive knowledge.","PeriodicalId":35168,"journal":{"name":"RLA","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44174131","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Los resultados muestran que la locucion adverbial por ultimo asume, en los materiales de espanol chileno, una funcion preponderante como operador argumentativo de limite escalar para indicar la opcion menos preferible, pero suficiente, en una secuencia argumentativa, valor al que tambien se ha llamado “consolatorio”. Este valor pragmatico contrasta con la funcion discursiva que se le atribuye a por ultimo a nivel del espanol estandar y que es caracteristica de la modalidad escrita de esta lengua, es decir, la de un ordenador de cierre con valor conclusivo. Asimismo, la funcion de por ultimo como operador argumentativo de “premio de consolacion” no fue hallada en otras comunidades de habla diferentes a la de Santiago con materiales del PRESEEA. Este hallazgo nos lleva a concluir que se trata de un uso idiosincrasico de la variedad de espanol de Chile de la cual la muestra del habla capitalina es, en gran medida, representativa.","PeriodicalId":35168,"journal":{"name":"RLA","volume":"80 1","pages":"93-116"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78655238","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

En concreto, se exploran las transformaciones semanticas que ha experimentado la forma verbal, como el surgimiento del valor locativo, y algunos cambios gramaticales, como la aparicion de la version pronominal, la alternancia en el regimen preposicional, la auxiliarizacion en perifrasis incoativas, y el giro hacia el uso transitivo-locativo. Desde un punto de vista teorico, se interactua con la teoria de la gramaticalizacion, con la gramatica de construcciones y con una concepcion cognitivista del cambio semantico. Ademas, se dialoga con la lexicografica chilena y panhispanica en cuanto a la descripcion del verbo ganarse. En cuanto a la metodologia, se utilizan corpus linguisticos historicos, bases de datos actuales y documentos historicos digitalizados, con el fin de respaldar el analisis con fundamentos cualitativos y cuantitativos. Como resultado de la indagacion, se explican los cambios semanticos y gramaticales del verbo en la variedad chilena, y se argumenta una propuesta de deriva diacronica.","PeriodicalId":35168,"journal":{"name":"RLA","volume":"28 1","pages":"167-201"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81405249","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Sin embargo, su aplicacion en el aula de Espanol Lengua Extranjera (ELE) no ha visto explotado todo su potencial. En este sentido, resulta util abordar las dificultades que presentan los aprendientes de ELE en la correcta asimilacion de clausulas Experimentador-Objeto con verbos psicologicos. A esta complicacion se suma el enfoque tradicional y descriptivo adoptado en los manuales. Por ello, este estudio busca examinar desde la perspectiva de estos enfoques el tratamiento de estas estructuras en 10 manuales de gran impacto correspondientes a los niveles A1, A2 y B1 (sumando asi un total de 36 manuales y 70 unidades) y estudiar como se ajustan al inventario de emociones del Plan Curricular del Instituto Cervantes (PCIC). Los resultados corroboran la hipotesis de que los verbos psicologicos se presentan escasa y asistematicamente en el PCIC y en los manuales, y evidencian cierta disparidad entre los contenidos por niveles que el PCIC detalla. Partiendo de las limitaciones presentes en los manuales, se propone la base de un material que incorpora el modelo operacional y los roles semantico-referenciales de Experimentador y Estimulo.","PeriodicalId":35168,"journal":{"name":"RLA","volume":"38 1","pages":"137-166"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"88650840","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
