It presents the domain of the balance of payments and the characteristics of a corpus of texts produced in English, in French and in German by thirteen central banks and statistics offices, which will be used for terminological work. The analysis leads to a typology of the texts grouped in the corpus. The texts analysed come from three magazines: La Pologne, Polsko and La Revue Polonaise, created by political decision of the communist leaders to disseminate     a positive image of Poland abroad. The purpose of this study is to test the hypothesis that the three profiles of the concept of Poland, aimed at first, second and third-world audiences, are different from each other due to differences motivated by extra-linguistic factors, and in particular, the various objectives of the country’s foreign policy. The study is inspired by the work of the Lublin School of Ethnolinguistics on the linguistic representation of reality. These lists are commonly based on corpora, which, in the ideal case, are representative, relevant and large. As for the English language, this kind of corpora has been available for a long time (e.g. the COCA and the BNC). Vocabulary lists, which are often used in learning contexts, have been based on these corpora. The situation is, however, less favorable when it comes to the French language, with fewer corpora meeting the mentioned criteria, and, thus, fewer possibilities to create vocabulary lists that are useful for learners. In this contribution, we present work that has been done in order to create a vocabulary list, Riksprovsordlistan, containing about 4,000 words and used at all Swedish universities. In the present study, we employ a corpus-based contrastive approach, by using bilingual comparable corpora in the subject field of “employment”. First, we present our method concerning the compilation of the comparable corpora and the digital tools used for their processing analysis; and then, we proceed with the analysis of the textual data from a contrastive perspective. In a previous work on predicates referring to various activities and behaviors, carried out with the use of electronic corpora (the National Corpus of Polish Language, as well as electronic sources available on the Internet), we obtained a dictionary of verb-noun collocations with high lexical coverage comparing to traditional dictionaries (not based on electronic corpus research). Using the same corpus data and methodology as before, we conducted a study of the class of predicative nouns referring to properties and character traits. However, the results obtained following the application of this method proved to be unsatisfactory. Our analysis is carried out in three stages: after briefly presenting some of the computerized corpus analysis methods and equipment we used to collect and process our bilingual corpus named ECOTEXT, we check its specificity and then move on to calculating word frequency and interpreting the frequency lists, starting with the analysis of the most frequent toponyms (e.g. France and Polska) and continuing with the most frequently represented nouns and adjectives. The science fiction genre, in particular, creates a lexicon on the borderline between literary creation and scientific and technical terminology so the stories can be framed elsewhere or in the future. The translation of these invented words can be a real challenge for translators because of their very nature as hybrids, but also because of the science fictional megatext. The translation treatment from English into French of these neologisms, known as “fiction terms”, shows different strategies of lexical (re)creation. Before presenting the results of our research that relies especially on data derived from the SketchEngine (Czech Web 2017; French Web 2017) corpora, we find it necessary to address theoretical questions to frame the concept of fractocomposition in current linguistic studies. We have borrowed the term fractocomposition from the French linguist Jean-François Sablay- rolles (2019, p. 149), who defines it as a case of compounds “one of whose elements is a fractolexeme,   a fragment of lexie which is valid for the entire lexie”.
