Five grams of feces and liver from freshly slaughtered sheep of both sexes, and from different locations and ages were collected, taken to the laboratory and analyzed for fasciola eggs and adult flukes. Direct smear, formol ether concentration and sodium chloride floatation methods were used to harvest the eggs and adult parasites. Out of 367 sheep examined, 64 (17.2%0) were infected. Infection was highest in Obinze abattoir (29.6%) followed by Afor Enyiogugu abattoir with (29.0%) Okigwe (15.6%), Orlu (12.5%) and Afor Ogbe (12.4%). Infection was highest in females than in males and was also sex dependent. Among adult sheep (>2yrs) examined , 59 (14.9%) were infected while out of 38 young goats (<2yrs), 5 (13.2%) were infected. Infection level rose with increased rainfall with the highest level observed at the peak of the rainy season and dropping during the dry season months. The number of parasites were 180, and mean worm load 281. Intensity was higher in males than in females. This result therefore calls for an improved disease control and adequate sanitation programme for sheep rearers in the study area. (Njoku-Tony, R.F and Okoli, G.C. The supplements were maize bran (MB) and cotton seed cake (CSC) given at the ratio of 4:1 followed by grazing in the field. Supplemented sheep and goats showed higher values of packed cell volume (PCV), blood urea (BU) and total blood protein (TBP) than the  not-supplemented groups. However, TBP values for nonsupplemented sheep was slightly higher (48.79 g/l) than the supplemented sheep (48.65 g/l). Supplemented sheep in the wet season values for PCV, BU and TBP were similarly not significant (p>0.05). The study involved four feed treatments (T1 = 0.00 %, T2 = 12.00 %, T3 = 24.00 % and T4 = 36.00 %), which were formulated to be isonitrogenous (14.50%) and replicated three times. The goats were randomly assigned to each treatment using a randomized complete block design (RCBD). Results showed no significant (p>0.05) differences in feed intake, growth rate, feed conversion efficiency, dry matter, ash, crude fiber, ether extract digestibility and carcass characteristics among the treatment means. However, the result of cost-benefit analysis showed significant (p 0.05). The ewes were assigned to two treatments groups: T1 and T2, representing the control and treated ewes, respectively. Spondias mombin L was fed to ewes in treated (T2) group immediately after parturition at the rate of 1 kg/ewe/day. Colostrum was sampled on day three post partum, while mature milk sampling was done bi weekly. Lamb weights were taken at weekly intervals. Results showed that colostrum of ewes in the treated group had significantly higher (p control group. Percentage milk lactose from treated ewes at week two was 3.98±0.05 and was significantly higher (p 0.05). Hog plum provides farmers with an alternative feeding material for lactating ruminants to help in galactogenesis as well as lactopoiesis, in the face of the global rising cost of grains used in the formulation of concentrate diets. The study was conducted with the aid of questionnaires, farm visits and personal interviews, to determine the feed and feed resources management of smallholder sheep and goat producers in the area. Materials fed to sheep and goats included cut forage such as grasses, weeds, herbs, forbs, trees and shrubs, lianas, crop residues, kitchen and local food processing wastes. Cut forage was fed to goats and sheep by 84.3 and 32.3% of the farmers irrespective of season. Kitchen waste was the commonest type of supplementary feed offered in 84.0% of the households irrespective of season and animal species. Concentrate and improved pasture were rarely fed to sheep and goats. Crop residue was offered by 7.4% and 9.4% of the sheep and goat farmers respectively. Feed shortages were more prevalent in the dry season. Fodder conservation and agro-forestry were not practiced except for live fencing. About 40.3% and 22.6% of the smallholder goat and sheep farmers adopted cut and carry feeding system alone, 56.7 and 14.0% adopted cut and carry in conjunction with free grazing, 26.4 and 63.4% practiced free grazing, where 0.25 and 4.0% adopted tethering in bush fellows for goats and sheep respectively.
