The basic idea of our method is to define some kind of procedures to control the agent's behavior. These procedures contain a rule constraining actions the agent has to choose. This rule is applied except if some conditions (which we call exceptions) are fulfilled. In this case we relax constraints on actions. We develop a way to propagate states that have created an exception to a rule, to help the agent to escape from blocked situations or locally optimal solutions. We illustrate the method using the \"Sokoban\" game. We compare the method empirically with flat Q-learning. In the proposed predictive control scheme, the switching information is obtained directly from the error in flux. This approach is simpler than the methods of torque and flux control in which a reference voltage vector is generated to obtain the inverter duty cycle. A model is established for the wind farm Hagesholm (Denmark). This wind farm consists of six active stall controlled wind turbines from NEG-Micon with 2 MW rated power. The wind turbines are connected through two feeders to the 10kV busbar in a 50/10kV substation. The simulation model, implemented in the dedicated power system simulation tool DIgSILENT, is used in the first place to simulate the behaviour of the wind farm during normal operation of the wind farm. The model comprises a grid model, six almost identical wind turbine models, where electric, mechanic and aerodynamic aspects are included, and a model for the wind speed. The described model can be used for assessment of power quality, control strategies and behaviour in the event of grid faults. In this paper, the ability of the model to predict power quality is investigated. The simulations are used to compute power quality characteristics of a wind turbine, i.e. maximum power, reactive power consumption and flicker emission. The applied computation methods are reflecting the international power quality standards of wind turbine IEC 61400-21. The improved GA is implemented by floating-point arithmetic. The processing time of the improved GA is faster than that of the GA implemented by binary number as coding and decoding are not necessary. By introducing new genetic operators to the improved GA, it is also shown that the improved GA performs better than the traditional GA based on some benchmark test functions. A neural network with switches introduced to links is proposed. By doing this, the proposed neural network can learn both the input-output relationships of an application and the network structure. Using the improved GA, the structure and the parameters of the neural network can be tuned. For example, the power flow is essentially restricted by a line inductance. The author has proposed the variable active-passive reactance (VAPAR) which can produce a virtual variable inductance. The author analyzed the transient power flow of a balanced three phase variable inductance and obtained interesting results. In this paper, at first, the analysis of the instantaneous power of a power circuit including a three phase variable inductance is introduced using instantaneous active and reactive power theorem. Then, the power characteristics of three phase inductance with mutual variable inductance is analyzed. In this section, the concept of \"anti-mutual inductance\" of which mutual induced electromotive force appears in opposite direction to usual mutual inductance is proposed. The interesting characteristics of anti-mutual inductance is analyzed using instantaneous power theorem. However, these features are achieved by means of modern control techniques which require many electrical variables in order to be properly implemented. This constraint makes these techniques less attractive and simpler control techniques are preferred. On the other hand, virtual sensors have become an alternative to provide the electrical variables without sensing them. They use the already available information to estimate the missing measurements; however, their design uses several parameters that are usually manually tuned. This paper presents a general virtual sensor and defines performance tests in order to evaluate and design optimum operating parameters of the virtual sensor applied to three-phase static power converters. The GA proved to be a simple and efficient search and optimization method for solving the daily design problem in the industry. The system is a DC to DC LCC resonant converter whose switching frequency is tuned at the natural resonant frequency where the converter tends to act as a current source. In this way, two effects are achieved: (1) the necessary over-voltage, first to ionize the dielectric and then to establish the electric arc is generated, and (2) a constant current is supplied during the erosion of the workpiece, providing the circuit with inherent protection under short circuit conditions.
