People suffered from the fear of contracting the disease, which resulted in the decrease in the use of public passenger transport services. People’s uncertainty and frequently changing measures with a lack of information caused a shift of passengers from public passenger transport to individual transport. The analysis identified important criteria that passengers considered very important during the COVID-19 pandemic in relation to public transport. If these criteria are not met, passengers will not be willing to use public passenger transport and the use of individual transport will continue to grow. To ensure passenger satisfaction, new innovative software solutions have been analysed and then implemented into one specific solution. The proposed solution can meet the requirements of passengers, facilitate their travel using public passenger transport and provide them with regular information related to viral illnesses and important information and will ensure their satisfaction.","PeriodicalId":344559,"journal":{"name":"LOGI – Scientific Journal on Transport and Logistics","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123713398","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The goal of the study is to determine whether the increase in the number of positive cases of COVID-19 and the associated increase in deaths influences changes in various categories of population mobility at the regional level in selected countries. The aim of the work is to empirically assess the impact of the first year of the pandemic on the mobility of the population. To achieve this, data on population mobility obtained from Google Statistics, together with information on the increase in the number of positive cases and the number of deaths caused by COVID-19 from both countries, were combined. The paper interprets and evaluates the results achieved, providing a picture of the course of the pandemic in the territories of the Czech Republic and Slovakia.","PeriodicalId":344559,"journal":{"name":"LOGI – Scientific Journal on Transport and Logistics","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131981029","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper aims to assess passenger mobility due to the pandemic based on an online questionnaire survey conducted in two countries, Slovakia and the Czech Republic. This paper focused on evaluating the importance rate of selected factors depending on the means of transport. We describe how the most frequently used means of transport (regular travel habits) affect the degree of importance of selected factors during COVID-19, including the journey to work and school. The Likert scale measuring method involves finance, comfort, sustainability, time, and safety as decisive factors, whereas the Kruskal-Wallis test examines proposed hypotheses. We demonstrated the contingency of the importance rate and the frequently used means of transport for commuting to work or school. The questionnaire ranks time and safety among the most important variables affecting the selection of transport means.","PeriodicalId":344559,"journal":{"name":"LOGI – Scientific Journal on Transport and Logistics","volume":"84 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126240753","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Security of both people and vehicles is a matter of concern. In this paper, an authentication-based security framework is designed to serve the purpose. Only authorized users are provided access to the vehicle. The drivers are first registered for driving the vehicle from an authorized and valid source. The next step is the authentication check before one can be given access to the vehicle. There are two alternative methods provided for the authentication check in the solution depending upon the situation the vehicle is in. The solution is an optimally viable solution from the security perspective of the real-time Intelligent Transportation System environment. The results have shown that the security solution fits into the domain very well and performs as per expectations. The solution has been tested on a Vehicle Tracking Device connected to a vehicle. The same solution can be extended to a fleet of vehicles.","PeriodicalId":344559,"journal":{"name":"LOGI – Scientific Journal on Transport and Logistics","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126425608","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main objective of this research is to determine the effect of globalization and transport mode on the marketing of goods made in Africa and the difference in consumer choice for imported products and domestic goods. A 10-item validated structured questionnaire was administered to 300 civil servants of selected parastatals from five states in Nigeria. The feedback statistics showed that a total number of 280 (93.3%) questionnaires were retrieved and 20 (6.7%) were rejected. The results obtained were subjected to analytical procedures of correlation and multiple regression. The study used clothing as research sample to test the effect of globalization and transportation mode on consumer preference for imports over local products and vice-versa. It was found that globalization and chosen transportation mode have a significant effect on marketing of goods made in Africa and on consumer preference. The resultant effects were numerous including capital flight, development of new markets, transport-induced costs, etc. The study recommends governments in Africa to re-orient the African population to appreciate and patronize domestic goods, and implement appropriate modern transportation systems, and ICT tools to promote domestic goods.","PeriodicalId":344559,"journal":{"name":"LOGI – Scientific Journal on Transport and Logistics","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115708648","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To create sustainable working conditions for employees in the future, today’s students – future managers, logistics specialists, and entrepreneurs need to be approached. The paper presents pilot research oriented towards the awareness of ergonomics and its merit in relation to health and productivity while studying and performing sitting work tasks. The meaning of this was raised by the Covid-19 pandemic impacts and an increase in the home office and distant studying. Also, the paper combines arguments from secondary data sources with obtained primary data. The main goal was to gather evidence justifying active engagement of logistics managers in ergonomics, as well as setting logistics processes respecting ergonomics requirements. The main findings underline the need for logistics specialists and employees themselves to be aware of ergonomics principles so that human well-being can be sustainably achieved.","PeriodicalId":344559,"journal":{"name":"LOGI – Scientific Journal on Transport and Logistics","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122824652","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

An analysis of the correlation between the observed nautical tourism variables was also conducted. The number of arrivals and overnight stays in nautical charters has been showing an upward trend. The number of yachts or, respectively, boats that are over 12 m in length has also been increasing. The number of marinas varies in the observed period, while nautical tourism ports display a constant growth. The number of berths has also been growing in comparison with the years before, with the exception of 2013 and 2017. The correlation analysis established that the growth in the number of marinas has followed the growth in the number of vessels with lengths between 12 and 15 metres, between 15 and 20 metres and those with lengths exceeding 20 metres. The number of nautical tourism ports and the number of berths have a positive and statistically significant impact on the increase in the number of vessels that are longer than 12 metres.","PeriodicalId":344559,"journal":{"name":"LOGI – Scientific Journal on Transport and Logistics","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116721419","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It examines their didactic advantages over real helicopters by implementing on-board intelligent decision support systems (IDSS). These simulation programs monitor actions of learner, find the best ways to correct errors and generate appropriate instructions. The training is carried out by reference point methods while the helicopter flight dynamics model simulates a flight and helps an instructor in parallel. Sufficiently simple and accurate model of helicopter flight dynamics was selected and tested to assess the proposed methods and aids. Our analysis introduces a functional structure of IDSS as an adaptive control system with a reference model. We further conducted a study on developing models, methods and means of automatic analysis, forecasting, optimization and correction of actions. Combining single-criteria conditional and vector optimization methods, we found out optimal flight parameters. The research findings revealed that the chosen optimization method requires too many system resources for the optimal solution to be found in a short time. The study thereby comes up with applying ANNs to solve this problem.","PeriodicalId":344559,"journal":{"name":"LOGI – Scientific Journal on Transport and Logistics","volume":"74 19","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114005815","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The paper contains a description of how to set up the development environment as well as a brief description of the MAVLink protocol and its use by means of statements of several methods used in the program. Ardupilot Mega was preferred as a control unit which supports the MAVLink protocol. Although the application is fully functional, it is designed in its current form rather as a demonstration of possibilities of using the C# programming language and the MAVLink protocol parser than being for a regular use. It may be seen (and that is how it was intended) as a guide for anyone wishing to try to program their own application.","PeriodicalId":344559,"journal":{"name":"LOGI – Scientific Journal on Transport and Logistics","volume":"231 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114749710","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Reducing emissions from this sector has become the main driver of change in modern motor vehicles. Unfortunately, due to economic differences in the world, this process is not the same in all countries. Despite these differences, however, even in less developed countries, efforts are made to reduce vehicle exhaust emissions. The work conducted road tests, bench, calculated comparative studies of fuel, economic, environmental and energy performance of a serial car with a standard carburetor power system and equipped with an electronic gasoline injection system and a three-component catalytic converter under operating conditions.","PeriodicalId":344559,"journal":{"name":"LOGI – Scientific Journal on Transport and Logistics","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115524020","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
