First, the article describes the single-circuit transport problems and the optimization module Solver itself. Using the specific model example of beer distribution, the author demonstrates the algorithm which may be applied to solving single-circuit transport problems by means of Solver. The travel route designed by Solver is then compared with the originally proposed route. The values being compared include the total length of travel routes created and the associated variable costs spent on serving customers and also route design time. Thus, using the practical example of beer distribution, the manuscript has demonstrated the algorithm which is used for addressing the single-circuit transport problems. Nonetheless, possible application of the Solver tool is not limited to seeking a solution to the travelling salesman problem only. It can also be implemented even to discussing the multi-circuit transport problems with various confinements.","PeriodicalId":344559,"journal":{"name":"LOGI – Scientific Journal on Transport and Logistics","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130137901","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, an alternative approach when managing “demand” for transportation system can be controlled. This is especially needed in settlements newly developed rapidly in Deli Serdang Regency, namely in the Galang Region. The region Galang area with a population of 613 working people with details of 189 civil servants and 424 private employees who the majority (94%) use private transportation. One aspect that is studied within this manuscript is the amount of transportation costs of travel to work using private transportation (motorcycle) and public transportation (angkot or mikrolet). Transportation selection modeling is done using the Bi-nomial Model Binary Logit. Based on the analysis of the results obtained, it can be concluded that, if the difference in transportation costs with private transport getting bigger, the opportunities to use this mode will increase. The balance between the costs and using private and public transport is maintained if the costs of private transport are 1.4 times greater than the cost public transportation.","PeriodicalId":344559,"journal":{"name":"LOGI – Scientific Journal on Transport and Logistics","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134202760","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In many situations, bicycle transport can perfectly fill deficiencies in public transport, e.g. at night, on holidays and on days when buses run to a limited extent. The article presents the functioning of the city bike system in Lublin since 2014. The first part of this article presents basic data on the city bike system in Lublin together with a map of bicycle stations, followed by data on the number of rentals, rental time, number of bicycle users, etc. Selected user opinions obtained on the basis of the survey were also presented. Finally, based on the analysis, final conclusions were formulated. The city bike system is used by about 10% of the population of the city of Lublin.","PeriodicalId":344559,"journal":{"name":"LOGI – Scientific Journal on Transport and Logistics","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129808564","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The objective of this research study is to design a sustainable system of public passenger transport that would be an alternative to expanding individual transport. The implementation of a quality and efficient transport service is a relatively complex process, since, currently, there are no generally applicable principles for its design. This manuscript presents general results of research aimed at solving the problem of transport service within a selected territory issue with a focus on rail transport as an efficient transport system representing a backbone of a transport system. The subject of the investigation is to compile a set of factors affecting the design of the transport concept. The output of the manuscript consists in a proposal of a generally applicable procedure including a calculation of transport potential and characteristics of the inputs. Subsequently, based on the resulting values, it will be possible to determine the extent of the transport services provided by rail transport in any territory, which will contribute to a more efficient and high quality theoretical graph of train running.","PeriodicalId":344559,"journal":{"name":"LOGI – Scientific Journal on Transport and Logistics","volume":"64 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123170117","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The number of inhabitants has a direct impact on the demand for transport. The paper deals with examining the relationship and dependence between the population demographic development and the demand for public passenger transport. Not only in Slovakia but also in Europe and in the world, the main problem is the ageing population. The changing age structure of the population changes requirements, demands and habits of transported population groups. A gradual increase in the holders of cards of a person with severe disability or a person with severe disability with accompaniment can be observed in Slovakia in recent years. This group of the population has also a very strong impact on the demand for public passenger transport. The dependence between individual variables is examined in the conditions of the Ţilina self-governing region.","PeriodicalId":344559,"journal":{"name":"LOGI – Scientific Journal on Transport and Logistics","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116057879","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, current maritime traffic management mainly relies on the massive individual vessel’s data for decision making. Lack of macro-level understanding of vessel crowd movement around port challenges maritime safety and traffic efficiency. In this paper, we describe a spatio-temporal data mining method to discover crowd movement patterns of vessels from their short-term history data. The method first captures vessels’ crowd movement features by building vessels’ tracklets with their speed and location. A movement vector clustering algorithm is developed to find different travel behaviors for different group of vessels. With nonparametric regression on the classified vessel movement vectors which represent the crowd travel behaviors, an overall vessel movement pattern can then be discovered. In this research, we tested real trajectory data of vessels near Singapore ports. Comparing with the actual massive vessel movement data, we found that this method was able to extract vessels’ crowd movement information. The hotspots on risk area in terms of vessel traffic and speed can be identified. The method can be used to provide decision-making support for maritime traffic management.","PeriodicalId":344559,"journal":{"name":"LOGI – Scientific Journal on Transport and Logistics","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128878631","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The current system of electric vehicles for road freight transport and the relevant investigations are based on the experience with operating trolleybuses, which have the same power supply of traction motors from the overhead traction line by means of traction pantographs. As for the future, it has not been decided yet which electromobility-related power system will be used in practice, whether the supply of electric motors from traction lines or battery packs. In the introductory chapters, the manuscript discusses the fundamental information regarding the electromobility, current projects dealing with this issue, individual aspects and attributes related to these existing power systems, and their advantages and disadvantages in terms of their usage.
