However, protection devices along the distribution network are not capable of being sensitized by this type of defect, most of the time. This work presents an integrated strategy of HIF classification and detection, based on the use of Support Vector Machines. An improved fault model was used to emulate randomness behaviors, and especially intermittence of high impedance faults. The residual current is monitored, and the extraction of its characteristics is performed with Short-Time Fourier Transform. A logic of temporal consistency has been applied to the detection stage. Essa relação gera o que se chama transformações do espaço da formação para o espaço dos robôs, e vice-versa. Uma questão importante que surge ao se utilizar tal formulação é que podem existir posições relativas entre os veículos que caracterizam singularidades. A caracterização dessa formação com base em coordenadas esféricas (distância e orientações relativas) cria um ponto de singularidade quando o veículo aéreo está sobre o veículo terrestre, por exemplo tentando pousar sobre o mesmo. Este trabalho considera exatamente esta situação, e propõe uma solução em que não existe singularidade, baseada no uso de quatérnios unitários. É apresentada uma descrição da formação baseada em quatérnios unitários, e é proposto um controlador adequado para tal formulação. In this scenario, protocols based on Real-Time Ethernet, which have been proven fundamental for automation tasks in the past, may be suitable also for new projects. Since Industry 4.0 requires additional features never exploited before in control networks that could jeopardize real-time, a trustful evaluation of key performance indicators is mandatory. As known by previous works, collecting and analyzing Real-Time Ethernet data is challenging, and not all the RTE protocols have been already studied. In this paper, the SERCOS III protocol is considered, because it is widely used in the industrial environment but it is not well investigated by the scientific community. Therefore, this work aims to carry out a (quantitative) comparative bibliographic research pointing out gaps, discussing SERCOS III protocol’s communication dynamics, and presenting a performance analysis method based on indicators for real applications. The model is based on Norton equivalents derived from the FLE short-circuit and open-circuit admittance matrices and an interface, which is represented by ideal transformers, as a means of transformation between the phase domain of the line and the FLE short-circuit and open-circuit conditions. The alternative model is used to represent a short-length transmission line. The simulation results are compared with the JMarti and ULM models from the ATP-EMTP and PSCAD/EMTDC programs, respectively. This has created a global demand to equip mobile robots with the ability to autonomously plan a coverage path to reach the static target effectively and efficiently. The current approaches to achieve such tasks, however, are either time-consuming or human-operator dependent. To this end, an offline-online strategy is proposed to meet the speeding-up challenge by efficiently modelling the environment using a priori information. In the ‘offline’ stage of the strategy, the layout of the environment is segmented into a set of regions. The corners and dead-ends are identified based on the spatial mobility of the regions. The global path is then computed by deriving a graph-structured, road map using the segmented regions. In the ‘online’ stage, the global path is traversed by selecting frontiers which concurrently minimizes the covered area and time. In case the path is obstructed, a re-planning strategy is deployed. The proposed strategy is evaluated by various experiments against two baseline search approaches in three simulated environments. The proposal has the advantages of being robust against disturbances (internal and external) and simple, which is essential because it leads to significant cost reductions when implemented using analog electronics. The output static feedback controller can be used when all the state variables are not available for feedback. This way, the controller design can solve practical problems in which there are no sensors for all state variables of the plant. Furthermore, the presented robust control methodology minimizes an upper bound of a quadratic index (guaranteed cost) related to the output and the control signal of the uncertain closed-loop linear system. Through the designer’s knowledge of the system to be controlled, it is possible to obtain optimized performances. In order to find the best guaranteed cost related to the performance of the system, an algorithm of differential evolution for global optimization was used. The controller was implemented in a bench scale earthquake simulator and the results illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed methodology. In this work, we present a novel empirical study for the data-driven estimation of the SOC of the Panasonic 18650PF Li-ion cell using Deep Forward Neural Networks (DFNN) and optimization algorithms with adaptive learning rates. Specifically, we model the Urban Dynamometer Driving Schedule (UDDS) drive cycle. Our results suggest that the choice of the optimization algorithm affects the performance of the model and that a DFNN with five hidden layers is the model of optimal capacity when considering 256 units per layer.
