In recent years, the ELK stack has become very popular for the monitoring of computing environment, largely due to the efficiency and flexibility of the Elastic Search storage and wide variety of Kibana visualization tools. The analysis of computing infrastructure metadata often requires the visual exploration of multiple parameters simultaneously on one graphical image. Stacked bar charts, heat maps, radar charts are widely used for the multivariate visual data analysis, but these methods have limitations on the number of parameters. In this research the authors propose to enhance the capacity of Kibana, adding Parallel Coordinates diagram - one of the most powerful method for visual interactive analysis of high-dimensional data. It allows to compare many variables together and observe correlations between them. This work describes the development process of Parallel Coordinates as a Kibana plugin, and demonstrates an example of visual data analysis based on the Nginx logs metadata.","PeriodicalId":344054,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 30th International Conference on Computer Graphics and Machine Vision (GraphiCon 2020). Similarly, designers creating artistic light images that previously assumed the selection and adjustment of light on the spot are now forced to select real lighting devices using PKG, which requires professional engineering knowledge. It determines the objective basis for creating a new specialty – light designer. However, the systems of engineering and art education have almost no common methodological foundations. We propose a method of teaching based on the use of PCG in the educational process, which will be able to combine both educational systems into a single specialty. The methodology is based on the joint project created with the teacher in CGP, collective discussion, and defense of the developed projects. It allows engineers to explain the created artistic images, and designers to explain the influence of the characteristics of light fields and parameters of lighting devices on the image. The results of test sessions among students in both areas of study are discussed. The thinking features of each student group and the possibility of developing a unified approach to design are analyzed.","PeriodicalId":344054,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 30th International Conference on Computer Graphics and Machine Vision (GraphiCon 2020). To collect the relevant data, the first thing to do is to separate the bladder from the background on the ultrasound image. The article is devoted to automation this process using an algorithm based on the Unet architecture with a pretrained imagenet encoder (encoder – ResNet50). The article gives a comparative analysis of some well-known methods in the literature that improve the accuracy of the proposed algorithm. The quality of the basic architecture has been improved by more than 4 percent on the PR AUC metric (from 84.49% to 89.62%) in the series of experiments with the help of automatic annotation of previously unmarked data. In addition, there are two important results showing practical effectiveness of using the data from another medical task (which raised the accuracy to 88.50%) and using time-dependent sequence of frames inside the video (raised the quality to 88.19%).","PeriodicalId":344054,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 30th International Conference on Computer Graphics and Machine Vision (GraphiCon 2020). Also the scientific work considers the calculation of the energy of the capacitors for a spot welding apparatus using modern methods of numerical simulation and programming. The method of calculation is given, as well as a mathematical solution tool. The calculation results are compared with the experiment. Based on the data obtained, according to the results of calculations, work was carried out on a prototype, the result of which was an adjustable spot welder. It allows you to accurately and quickly weld nickel plates to lithium cells, creating full-fledged batteries from them, which are widely used in modern technology, including promising vehicles. The presence of sensors and a screen allows the operator to control the charging process and the direct operation of the unit, which simplifies the use of the device.","PeriodicalId":344054,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 30th International Conference on Computer Graphics and Machine Vision (GraphiCon 2020). In most cases, all calculations are carried out for illuminance on the floor of the room or on an imaginary working plane located at the height of the table. However, illuminance is an integral characteristic of incident light, while the human eye responds to light reflected from the surface. That is, if we take a completely black surface with a reflection coefficient equal to zero, then formally you can get the required illuminance on it, while visually we will not see anything, since nothing will be reflected from the surface. In terms of the human eye, luminance must be normalized instead of illuminance. Recently, the calculation and measurement of luminance was an extremely difficult task, so the it is understandable, that current regulatory documents describes almost illuminance normalization, but not luminance. This paper aims to modeling luminance spatial-angular distribution, which enables us to run the assessment of the lighting quality.","PeriodicalId":344054,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 30th International Conference on Computer Graphics and Machine Vision (GraphiCon 2020). Their main purpose is to prevent incidents and to analyze the situation in case of extemporaneous events. Though as often as not it is necessary to increase an image segment many times over to investigate some incidents. Sometimes it is dozens of times. However, the obtained material is mostly of poor quality. This is connected either with noise or resolution characteristics, including focal distance. The paper considers an approach for improving image segments, which were obtained after multiple zooming. The main idea of the proposed solution is to use methods of blind deconvolution. In this case, the selection of restoration parameters is carried out using evolutionary algorithms with automatic evaluation of the result. That seems like the most important detail here is pre-processing besides noise minimization within the image, because when the image is repeatedly enlarged the effect of the noise component also increases. To avoid this thing, we suggest using ordinal statistics and average convolution for a series of images. The proposed solution was implemented as a software product, and its operation was tested on a number of video segments made under different shooting conditions. The results are presented at the end of this article.","PeriodicalId":344054,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 30th International Conference on Computer Graphics and Machine Vision (GraphiCon 2020). {"title":"Calculation of Noise Components for Bidirectional Path Tracing with Photon Maps","authors":"S. Ershov, E. Birukov, A. Voloboy, V. In this cases another stochastic method is more efficient such as the bi-directional ray Monte-Carlo tracing with photon maps (BDPM). The level of noise i.e. the r.m.s. (root mean square) of pixel luminance calculated in one iteration of the method, depends on various parameters of the method, such as the number of light and camera paths, radius of integration sphere etc. so it is desirable to be able to predict this dependence to choose optimal parameters of the method. It was shown that this r.m.s is a sum of 3 functions scaled by reverse number of camera and light rays. These functions themselves are independent of the number of rays, so knowing them one can predict the noise for any number of rays and thus find the optimal one. These functions are a sort of correlations and their calculation from ray tracing is not a trivial problem. In this paper we describe a practical method of calculation and demonstrate the usage of its results for the choice of ray number.","PeriodicalId":344054,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 30th International Conference on Computer Graphics and Machine Vision (GraphiCon 2020). After palm vein image preprocessing vein structure is detected using unsupervised learning approach based on W-Net architecture, that ties together into a single autoencoder two fully convolutional neural network architectures, each simi-lar to the U-Net. Then segmentation results are improved using principal cur-vatures technique. Some vein points with highest maximum principal curva-ture values are selected, and the other vein points are found by moving from starting points along the direction of minimum principal curvature. To obtain the final vein image segmentation the result of intersection of the principal curvatures-based and neural network-based segmentations is taken. The evaluation of the proposed unsupervised image segmentation method based on palm vein recognition results using multilobe differential filters is given. Test results using CASIA multi-spectral palmprint image database show the effectiveness of the proposed segmentation approach.","PeriodicalId":344054,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 30th International Conference on Computer Graphics and Machine Vision (GraphiCon 2020). Software-hardware solutions for ray-tracing focus on implementing its basic components, such as building and traversing bounding volume hierarchies (BVH). However, global illumination algorithms, such as photon mapping method, depend on another kind of acceleration structure, namely k-d trees. In this work, we adapt state-ofthe-art GPU-based BVH-building algorithm of treelet restructuring to k-d trees. By evaluating the performance of the resulting k-d tree, we show that treelet optimisation heuristic suitable for BVHs of triangles is inadequate for k-d trees of points.","PeriodicalId":344054,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 30th International Conference on Computer Graphics and Machine Vision (GraphiCon 2020).
