Usually, 3D face model is composed of two parts information: shape and texture. Compared with the great deal of efforts on shape of the face model, we pay more attention to the texture parts operation. We use stitching method to merge a new organ texture with other face sample based on Poisson Equation. This will be great helpful to improve stitching result in the face model texture. The Experimental results show that the proposed stitching method has good performance on 3D face texture modeling.","PeriodicalId":339711,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE International Conference on Intelligent Computing and Intelligent Systems","volume":"54 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-12-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132172678","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The former one is widely used in real-time database software of industry, while the latter one is more popular for spatial data processing. In this paper, these two algorithms are compared first to summarize their advantages and disadvantages. And then, an optimized lossy compression algorithm for real-time data as well as a variant of it under certain constraints is proposed with the strategy “searching the farthest feasible point”. The experimental results show that the new algorithm is better than the conventional Swinging Door Trending algorithm and Douglas-Peucker algorithm at compression rate, overall error, and efficiency.","PeriodicalId":339711,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE International Conference on Intelligent Computing and Intelligent Systems","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-12-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132396866","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Two classes of impulsive systems are considered: the systems with unstable (unstabilizale) discrete-time dynamics and ones with stable (stabilizable) discrete-time dynamics. Sufficient conditions for robust stabilization are obtained in terms of linear matrix inequalities. A numerical example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the theoretical results.","PeriodicalId":339711,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE International Conference on Intelligent Computing and Intelligent Systems","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-12-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128822287","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It applies stochastic control theory to obtain the analytical solution of dynamic portfolio choice, which maximizes the expected power utility of portfolio terminal wealth, and utilizes the Spectral Generalized Method of Moments (SGMM) to estimate model parameters to do an empirical study based on the monthly data of Shanghai Exchange Composite Index from 1997.01–2008.12. Results show, the time-varying results in the positive or negative intertemporal hedging demand, which depends on the degree of investor's risk-aversion and the correlation coefficient between the shift of risky asset return and that of risk premium; the jumps also results in positive or negative jump hedging demand, but overall reduces the position on risky asset; as for the stock market in China, the effect of jumps is greater than that of the time-varying, and their horizon effect is very weak.","PeriodicalId":339711,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE International Conference on Intelligent Computing and Intelligent Systems","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-12-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127840930","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A novel three-dimensional chaotic system is composed with two triangular wave functions and a sign function. The triangular wave functions controlled the system to produce a 2×2 grid, and the sign function controls each node of the grid to generate three-scrolls. Through the analysis of the equilibrium points of the system and the numerical simulations for bifurcation diagrams and phase diagrams, it shows the dynamic characteristics of the system. This algorithm can be integrated into a real-time surveillance or a video retrieval or indexing system. The skin-color regions are found rapidly by utilizing the advantages that skin color is not sensitive to view and the algorithm has a small amount of calculation. As the face appears elliptical shape, the main axis' direction of candidate face region is calculated by K-L transform. Finally, the candidate face region corrected by rotating is scanned by trained Adaboost classifier as to achieve the detection of color faces. The experiments show that the proposed algorithm runs fast with good detection accuracy.","PeriodicalId":339711,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE International Conference on Intelligent Computing and Intelligent Systems","volume":"134 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-12-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115386517","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In our system, UD is a display device of which the objective is to display visual information on the surface of a wall where a user is watching in Intelligent Space. Its characteristic is to display visual information without the restriction by place. After estimating a user's position and recognizing a user's face by Intelligent Space, the proposed news display system shows a news article which includes the meaning of the user's query sentence extracted by paraphrase patterns, which find similarity between the query sentence and news articles. In the experimental results, we evaluated the performance of our system through comparing three systems: Boolean search system, a system without paraphrase patterns, and a system with paraphrase patterns. Especially, the proposed news display system with paraphrase patterns shows above 10% of “recall” result than the system without paraphrasing. Finally, our demonstration shows that UD moves to a user and displays a news article on the surface of a wall where a user is watching.","PeriodicalId":339711,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE International Conference on Intelligent Computing and Intelligent Systems","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-12-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114715363","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To classify children from adults by face images in a natural and non-intrusive way, a method using improved bio-inspired features (C1-S) is presented in this paper. To reduce the negative influence of individual differences, active shape model (ASM) is used to extract 58 landmarks for face normalization. Motivated by quantitative model of visual cortex, we proposed C1-S features to represent each face. The features output from C1 units consider not only the points defined by grid size but also the points defined by ASM fitting results. By adding shape features, C1-S features have better performance in SVM classification. Experiment results show that our method provides good classification accuracy and can be used for home video surveillance and parental control.","PeriodicalId":339711,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE International Conference on Intelligent Computing and Intelligent Systems","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-12-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114908381","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The compound motor is composed of a primary unit motor and an auxiliary unit motor in the same shaft, and can provide six grades of power. This is achieved by phase shift pole-changing, and by combining the operations of two unit motors. The performances in the four single operating states, and the two combining operating states must be taken together in the design. The mathematical model of the optimal design for the compound motor was established in the light of the nonlinear programming theory, and the Simulated Annealing Algorithm (SAA) is improved in this paper according to the practice of motor design. The model and the algorithm are applied to the practical calculation and excellent results have been achieved. The application shows that the method used in the paper can speed up the searching process of the optimization and thus be more useful for practical engineering.","PeriodicalId":339711,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE International Conference on Intelligent Computing and Intelligent Systems","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-12-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117288117","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
