In order to turn existing EA into efficient and agile one, it is necessary to institutionalize an EA based on well-established enterprise architecture frameworks (EAFs) into the enterprise. In this paper, we propose EA institutionalization processes and its metric based assessment for implemented EA based on the currently available EA frameworks. In the EA processes, we define institutionalization strategies specific to organizations’ goals, target architecture based on their baseline architecture, and transition plan for institutionalization.","PeriodicalId":338038,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE/ACIS 9th International Conference on Computer and Information Science","volume":"105 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-08-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133252973","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Image retrieval systems now incorporate various interaction mechanisms. However, there is no standard or established way of interacting that has been proven to be most effective. Therefore, many system designers are introducing or eliminating various functionalities. The bottleneck in the development effort is finding an effective and fair way to evaluate these systems. For static information access, several test collections have commonly been used. For interactive information access, expensive laboratory testing is needed. This paper presents a user semi-automatic user-model-based evaluation method that is designed to reduce cost while maintaining objectivity.","PeriodicalId":338038,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE/ACIS 9th International Conference on Computer and Information Science","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-08-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116168702","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The most popular one is multi-layer perceptron network (MLP) because of its high computational efficiency. However, there may be some drawbacks: long training time, adjustment of hyperparameters, only a single most probable classification can be returned, etc. In this paper, casebased reasoning (CBR) approach is presented to help solve these drawbacks. One of the advantages of CBR is that multiple possible classifications for a new case can be provided to the user, who can interactively finalize the correct classification. CBR is effective, however inefficient in time because every instance in a case base must be compared during reasoning. To overcome this inefficiency, a clustering technique of kernel K-means (KKM) is employed. To illustrate the effectiveness and efficiency of CBR and clustering framework, an automotive engineering diagnostic problem is shown. Its result is also compared to that of MLP. Experimental results show that CBR even outperforms than MLP.","PeriodicalId":338038,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE/ACIS 9th International Conference on Computer and Information Science","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-08-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128517659","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Currently, several carbon management systems are being developed to meet enterprises' requirement. In addition, a number of carbon footprint calculation tools have been developed to fulfill carbon calculation needs from industries, households and individuals. However, under the current circumstance, it is still a challenging issue on how to take advantage of the latest IT technologies to improve carbon calculations with comprehensive functionality. In this paper, we extend carbon 2.0, the concept proposed by previous studies, and introduce a new carbon framework based on cloud computing. This new framework is massively scalable and can configure and deliver carbon-related services dynamically and on demand. Moreover, it is a real low-carbon framework itself!","PeriodicalId":338038,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE/ACIS 9th International Conference on Computer and Information Science","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-08-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128902912","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Contrast to the traditional ways that focus on each sample’s feature patterns and then build a model to differentiate this one from another one, the probability distribution based pattern recognition can conclude a set of samples' features by analyzing its sample probability distribution model and then differentiate this set of samples from another one. By this way, not only can we save a lot of time and resource, but also it is more representative to display the group features of a set of samples. This paper makes use of this special advantage of the probability distribution based pattern recognition to detect the network anomalies by analyzing the different guideline such as Probability Distribution, Relative Entropy and Normalized Relative Entropy. So avoiding project failure is also important for purchasers. Project monitoring with a purchaser and a developer (stakeholders) is expected for the purchaser to suppress risk of project failure. It is performed by sharing software metrics during the project for the purchaser to grasp the status of the project. Although there are some software measurement models, they cannot describe two kinds of metrics which are used to monitor projects with stakeholders. One metric is to indicate project goal achievement after finishing project. The other one is to measure to progress toward the goal. In addition, the models cannot represent countermeasures when symptoms of project failure are found. We propose the model for project monitoring with stakeholders. The model is based on the measurement information model defined by ISO/IEC 15939, and added stakeholder’s goal, key goal indicator (KGI), key performance indicator (KPI), corrective action, and check timing. With our model, project monitoring with stakeholders can be described more rigorously.","PeriodicalId":338038,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE/ACIS 9th International Conference on Computer and Information Science","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-08-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127410870","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
