One of the roles is the administrator role. The administrator is one of the teacher's roles in planning a series of learning for a certain period following the rules of manufacture and arrangement. However, teachers feel inconvenience in compiling time-consuming learning plans, so that the teacher’s focus in teaching and learning activities is not effective. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to determine the role of teachers in planning early childhood learning. The research method used is descriptive quantitative with the analysis of the frequency distribution presentation obtained from a questionnaire given to the teacher as a data collection technique. The results showed that 62.5% of the teachers strongly agreed, 31.25% answered that the teachers agreed and 6.25% answered hesitantly. Therefore, it can be concluded that the teacher strongly agrees that the role of the teacher as administrator is more widely used so that it has an impact on the role of the teacher as the implementation of the learning process as a result of the analysis of the role of the teacher as a whole in the process of the educational series.","PeriodicalId":337757,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 5th International Conference on Early Childhood Education (ICECE 2020)","volume":"07 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-03-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127197079","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This literacy is related to reading and writing. This ability will later become provisions for future children's lives in their daily lives. However, the level of literacy in Indonesia is still low. This condition shows that the Indonesian people are still weak in accepting various sources of information and even easily accepting hoax news among the public. In early childhood, literacy education can be started with the habit of reading story books and fairy tales to children regularly. Efforts that can be done by implementing the school literacy movement, the implementation of the school literacy movement can include the habituation stage, development and learning. The teacher can invite children to write, listen and communicate a theme or topic in the book that the child reads. However, promoting literacy through a local fairy tale is challenging since children tend to be familiar with fairy tales from other countries, such as Cinderella or Snow White. Thus, proper teaching media are required to introduce a local fairy tale for children. This study used a qualitative descriptive method in order to investigate a mini library developed by social communities in Purwakarta, Indonesia. Five tutors were involved to be interviewed and study documentation was employed regarding storytelling preparation and implementation. It showed that they adapted and developed ideas of a local fairy tale to engage children in learning instructions to be more familiar with local fairy tales. During the implementation, tutors created various properties in storytelling activities. Besides, the story was delivered constantly. To sum up, story adjustment is required to boost children’s interests in preserving the local culture through literacy.","PeriodicalId":337757,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 5th International Conference on Early Childhood Education (ICECE 2020)","volume":"323 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-03-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122627904","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Based on the existing literature, the writers argue that parents still tend to treat boys and girls differently, reflecting a patriarchal culture in the society. Phenomenography study design was used to investigate and reveal use of cognitive apprenticeship by involving 12 parents and nine classroom teachers who were sampled purposely because of their stake in the level of education. Data were collected through individual in-depth interviews and two focus group discussions [FGDs] to teachers and parents respectively in Konawa district. Thematic content analysis obeying three-steps—open coding, axial coding and selective coding—introduced by Strauss and Corbin (1990) was applied. Findings reveal that classroom teachers differed with parents on strategies they used to enhance a child's problem solving skills. However, work environment, policy-related issues, and child-related issues impacted classroom teachers’ on their initiatives in nurturing children to become good problem solvers; while economic status, lack of parental knowledge and diseases affected parents’ initiatives on the same. The study concludes that development of children with authentic problems requires a working environment as well as policy specification be improved to achieve it.","PeriodicalId":337757,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 5th International Conference on Early Childhood Education (ICECE 2020)","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-03-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130121560","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Thus, as the embodiment of the fulfilment of the citizens’ rights, the state creates policies that are applicable to all components of the society regarding education. For early childhood education (ECE), in particular, the government has created a more flexible basic policy for early childhood education, thus providing people with the opportunity to participate in its implementation. This is also seen from the government’s effort in dividing the institutional forms into Formal and Non-formal ECE, thus the access to service to ECE is better reachable by everyone. Although there have been regulations on ECE in Indonesia, there are several policies that are incongruent with the practices on the field, such as the implementation and the students. Besides, the involvement of other parties in regulating early childhood education causes policies to overlap in its implementation. Based on the aforementioned, this article aims to provide an overview on early childhood education policies in Indonesia. By using literature study method regarding this critical policy analysis of early childhood education in Indonesia, this article is expected to provide a clear description on the reason behind the existence of early childhood education in Indonesia, including the involvement of other factors that support its policy making process.","PeriodicalId":337757,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 5th International Conference on Early Childhood Education (ICECE 2020)","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-03-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130348470","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
