Therefore, knowing the factors which can affect their level of compliance is an important issue for nursing. \u0000Objective: To identify the relationship between demographic and clinical variables such as anguish and depression, and self-care efficacy in men suffering from type 2 diabetes mellitus. \u0000Methods: This a transversal and correlational study on a sample of 96 men with type 2 diabetes mellitus who were registered in 13 health centers. The instruments used were the Questionnaire of Actions of Care in Diabetes, the Self-Efficacy for Diabetes Scale (SED), the Mexico Center of Epidemiological Studies of Depression Scale (CES–D), and the Diabetes Distress Scale (DDS). \u0000Results: Self-care was positively correlated to self-efficacy, and negatively correlated to diabetes-related anguish and depression. Variables which accounted for 47.7% of the self-care variance were: self-efficacy (β = .39), alcohol consumption (β = -.29), number of hours sitting or standing (β= -.27), years of being diagnosed (β= -.22), and age (β =.18). \u0000Discussion: The sample demonstrated a low level of diabetes self-care which included risky behaviors. This attitude could be a result of the patients’ beliefs, lifestyles, and/or type of job. \u0000Conclusions: The findings provide evidence on the factors which can influence self-care among men with type 2 diabetes. These results can orient nursing professionals while providing patient attention. Cardiac arrests can happen anywhere. Therefore, having a correspondingly trained community can increase the survival chance and decrease the possible aftermath of those suffering complications. \u0000Objective: To estimate the effect of using a digital educational resource in the learning process related to basic life support among participants of a higher education institution. \u0000Methods: This is a quantitative, pre-experimental, pre-test-post-test study on a single group. \u0000Results: The use of a digital educational resource in the learning process related to basic life support increased knowledge acquisition in 110 students, demonstrating a statistically significant difference between the pre-test and post-test levels (p < 0.01 for the gaussian model adjusted group, and p < 0.05 for the unadjusted one). \u0000Discussion: These results are consistent with the findings of other similar studies. The index case is a pregnant teenager who, as reflected by the Pauta de Riesgo Psicosocial-Evaluacion de Riesgo Psicosocial instrument from the Chile Crece Contigo program, was found to be at risk. \u0000Development: Family assessment instruments were applied during home visits. Following the nursing process, the intervention was based on an educational program. An electronic record was registered. A follow up inform on the case was elaborated. The process, structure, and primary results were assessed to support the evaluation of the short term objectives set out in the nursing process. \u0000Conclusions: Within the context of the family and community health integral attention model, the family study becomes fundamental in order to holistically understand the family as a functional unit of society. Objetivo: Por lo anterior, el objetivo de este trabajo es identificar la relacion entre automanejo en general y sus dimensiones con sintomas depresivos en personas con diabetes e hipertension. Metodo: Estudio transversal-correlacional con n=205 pacientes con diagnostico de diabetes (100) e hipertension (105). Muestreo no probabilistico por conveniencia. Se utilizo la estadistica descriptiva y r de Pearson. Se aplicaron los instrumentos Partners in Health (PIH) y The Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-8). Resultados: Se encontro correlacion estadisticamente significativa entre la sintomatologia depresiva y el automanejo (r=-0.308 ρ Discusion y Conclusiones: Se concluye que la sintomatologia depresiva se relaciona con el automanejo de la enfermedad de la siguiente manera: a mayor automanejo menor sintomatologia de depresion, o a mayor sintomatologia depresiva menor automanejo; dicha relacion confirma que ambas variables se afectan mutuamente y/o mantienen una relacion estrecha. EnglishIntroduction: Persons with diabetes and hypertension frequently suffer from depression as well, a situation which contributes to an inadequate management of the condition in terms of medication, medical consultations, signs, and decision making. Objective: To identify the relationship between general self-management and depression symptoms in persons with diabetes and hypertension. Method: This is a transversal and correlational study with a sample of 205 patients, 100 with a main diagnosis of diabetes, and 105 with a main diagnosis of hypertension. The sampling process was non-probabilistic and by convenience. Descriptive statistics, including Pearson's r were calculated. The Partners in Health (PIH) and Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-8) instruments were administered. The related WHO manuals reflect the changes in this procedure; for example, the now non-binding need of using a brush. Sin embargo, dada la gran cantidad de literatura, los investigadores han desarrollado metodologías de revisión para compilar los estudios científicos dentro de un área específica. Aun cuando existen más de 10 tipos de metodologías para la revisión de la literatura, la Revisión Sistemática Exploratoria (RSE) ha recibido poca atención en la literatura sobre métodos de investigación científica de habla hispana. \u0000Objetivo: Detallar la metodología de la RSE, sus propósitos y las fases para su desarrollo. \u0000Desarrollo: Este trabajo detalla las generalidades de la RSE basándose en la metodología propuesta por Arksey & O’Malley. Así mismo, se describen las áreas o ámbitos donde este tipo de revisión se puede emplear, las fases para desarrollar la revisión y ejemplos de las RSE. \u0000Conclusiones: Las RSE tienen la fortaleza de hacer saber a los profesionales de la salud sobre un tema en específico que permita incidir en las políticas públicas. Metodos: Estudio descriptivo. Se realizo la aplicacion de un instrumento a 20 matronas de neonatologia de una Unidad Chilena de Cuidados Neonatales (UCHCN) en 2018, para recopilar informacion respecto a once variables en la preparacion y administracion de antimicrobianos. El estudio abarco tres variables principales: preparacion, mantencion y monitorizacion de los antimicrobianos. Resultados: Se recopilo informacion de 14 antimicrobianos, de los cuales la presentacion del 92.8% de ellos era inyectable y el 78.2% de los encuestados reconocia el valor de la unidad de dosificacion del medicamento. Mantencion 85.7% de los antimicrobianos son eliminados luego de su preparacion. Para dilucion se utiliza mayormente la solucion fisiologica en un 76.9% de los casos y el volumen utilizado de diluyente y concentracion final vario segun cada medicamento. Un 92.8% de los antimicrobianos se administra por via endovenosa y todos a traves de una bomba de jeringa. Monitorizacion especifica de la administracion solo se realiza en un 7.2% de ellos. Conclusiones: Debido a las variabilidades encontradas en los procesos de mantencion, dilucion y monitorizacion es que se propone la creacion o el mejoramiento y difusion de protocolos locales, para evitar efectos adversos o complicaciones y asi resguardar la seguridad de los pacientes. EnglishObjetive: To describe the preparation, dispensing, and monitoring of antimicrobials used in a Neonatal Care Unit in Santiago de Chile. Methods: This is a descriptive study. An assessment instrument was administered to 20 midwives laboring in a Chilean Neonatal Care Unit during 2018 in order to gather information on 11 variables related to the preparation, dispensing, and monitoring of antimicrobials. Results: Information was gathered on 14 antimicrobials; 92.8% of these were injectable. 78.2% of the surveyed personnel recognized the value of the drug dosification unit. 85.7% of antimicrobials were eliminated after their preparation. Regarding the dilution, in 76.9% of the cases saline solution was used with diverse concentrations. A close monitoring of the drug administration was followed only in 7.2% of the cases. En Oaxaca, la Universidad de la Sierra Sur (UNSIS), tiene una clínica robotizada, que apoya a los estudiantes en el desarrollo de su práctica clínica, pero aún no cuenta con una metodología específica para llevar a cabo simulación clínica. \u0000Objetivo: Comparar la adquisición de conocimientos en estudiantes de enfermería con el método tradicional y otro basado en simulación clínica. \u0000Metodología: Estudio de pre y postest para evaluar conocimiento del tema trabajo de parto en alumnos de 4° semestre; se compararon dos metodologías, la tradicional utilizada en la universidad y otra basada en simulación clínica; la primera consistió en dar la clase teórica en aula y replicarla con un simulador; la segunda consistió en clase teórica, escenario de simulación clínica, caso clínico y debriefing. \u0000Resultados: Hubo diferencia estadísticamente significativa (p <.001) entre pretest y postest en ambas metodologías, pero quienes recibieron la metodología basada en simulación clínica obtuvieron mayores puntajes (p=0.004). \u0000Discusión: El uso de una metodología basada en simulación clínica permitió que los alumnos obtuvieran mayores conocimientos en el tema trabajo de parto, respecto a la metodología tradicional que se utiliza en la universidad. Comprender el significado que tiene para estudiantes del último curso permite visualizar la importancia y dificultades que se presentan en su aplicación, para proponer estrategias que fortalezcan la calidad educativa. \u0000Objetivo: Comprender el significado del PAE que tienen los estudiantes del último curso de Enfermería. \u0000Método: Estudio con enfoque cualitativo. Referencial teórico y metodológico fue el Interaccionismo Simbólico y la Teoría Fundamentada en los Datos. Muestra por saturación teórica. Colecta de datos con entrevistas semiestructuradas en 17 estudiantes del 10° ciclo de una universidad privada de Lima Este. Análisis de datos basado en la codificación de Strauss y Corbin posibilitó la identificación de categorías y subcategorías, y el fenómeno central. \u0000Resultados: Emergieron cinco categorías: 1) Cuidado enfermero utilizando el PAE desde el inicio de su formación (Condición causal); 2) Satisfacción o insatisfacción al dar cuidado con el PAE (Contexto); 3) PAE como herramienta de investigación en formación profesional (Condiciones Intervinientes); 4) Dificultades en la aplicación del PAE en el cotidiano de los profesionales (Estrategias de Acción/ Interacción) y 5) Mejora de la práctica al dar cuidado con PAE (Consecuencias). \u0000Conclusiones: El fenómeno central es el PAE, instrumento que guía el cuidado de enfermería para brindar a las personas atención integral y con fundamento en evidencia científica; a partir de la experiencia profesional con una proyección positiva al campo laboral, no exenta de limitaciones en su aplicación en el campo hospitalario. De Sousa-Ibiapina","doi":"10.22201/eneo.23958421e.2019.4.622","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.22201/eneo.23958421e.2019.4.622","url":null,"abstract":"Introdução: O ingresso nas universidades representa uma mudança no modo de vida social, econômico, pessoal e mental dos estudantes. Às vezes, o processo de habituação representa um estressor que pode culminar em sintomas de ansiedade e depressão e, desse modo, representar um fator de risco para saúde mental. Objetivo: Analisar a percepção dos discentes sobre a experiência de vivenciar discussões sobre temática de suicídio. Métodos: Trata-se de um estudo descritivo-exploratório, com abordagem qualitativa, realizado em uma Universidade Federal do Nordeste do Brasil. Participaram da pesquisa 15 estudantes do curso Bacharelado em Enfermagem que integravam o Projeto de Intervenção Ser, Saber, Ouvir, Viver, no qual eram desenvolvidas ações de prevenção ao suicídio e valorização da vida direcionado aos estudantes universitários da instituição. Resultados: Ao analisar a nuvem de palavras e a representação gráfica da análise de similitude entre as palavras observou-se de forma geral as percepções dos discentes frente à vivência no projeto de valorização da vida. Cada palavra destacada indicou repetições nas falas, como consequência, significados semelhantes. Conclusão: Portanto, o projeto em questão além de favorecer um ambiente de liberdade de diálogo no âmbito acadêmico, proporciona também alívio mental que, com o passar das reuniões, pode minimizar os sintomas depressivos e ansiosos que os discentes podem apresentar, em consequência, reduzindo os índices de suicídio na instituição.","PeriodicalId":33320,"journal":{"name":"Enfermeria Universitaria","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47589466","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
