It should result in making a choice that meets the expectations (conditions) of the decision maker to the greatest extent. Decisions can be made on the basis of information which is not always complete and reliable. Sometimes it may happen that it is incomplete and reliable or complete but unreliable. Then, it concerns ill-structured problems. The purpose of this article is to verify whether ill-structured problems can be solved/supported in a way based on an operating algorithm. In the article, a case study with complete but unreliable information as well as with complete and reliable information was used. Logical decision trees were employed in the study. The result of the study allowed for, among others, establishing that the analysis of an ill-structured problem using logical decision trees consists in performing steps which follow one another in a logical sequence creating thus a sequence of operations, and therefore an operating algorithm, which confirms that solving ill-structured problems can be supported/implemented using an algorithm.","PeriodicalId":33134,"journal":{"name":"Scientific Journal of the Military University of Land Forces","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45417845","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This is a very difficult task, resulting from the lack of complete and reliable information about the dangerous object found. However, the sapper patrol must manage the risks in their operations properly in order to safely and effectively carry out their tasks. The article is a survey in the field of risk assessment and decision making by the sapper patrol commander during the implementation of tasks related to the taking and neutralization of explosive and dangerous objects. The report presents the issue of threats generated by pollution of the country's territory by unexploded munitions, misfires and other dangerous materials of military origin. Definitions of explosive and dangerous objects were also presented. The procedures for taking and neutralizing explosive and dangerous objects and the decision-making process of the sapper patrol commander during the activities related to taking these objects are described. Various factors that influence the decisions of the patrol commander when taking and neutralizing explosive and dangerous objects were indicated.","PeriodicalId":33134,"journal":{"name":"Scientific Journal of the Military University of Land Forces","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45150423","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Balance control was assessed using AccuSway (AMTI, USA) force platforms in terms of the range of the centre of pressure (COP) displacements in the mediolateral (RANGE(ML)) and anteroposterior direction (RANGE(AP)), the standard deviation of COP displacements in the mediolateral (SD(ML)) and anteroposterior direction (SD(AP)), the sway area of COP displacements (ELLIPSE), the average velocity of COP displacements (AVG VEL) and the COP path length (LENGTH). The participants (expert shooters, N=10; novice shooters, N=15) adopted tactical standing shooting stance wearing the field uniform, with a rifle on force platforms (one for each lower limb), over a period of 10 seconds, with sampling frequency of 100Hz. The statistical analysis using the Mann-Whitney U test revealed a significant difference between the studied groups, taking into account the ELLIPSE and the AVG VEL variables values for the dominant leg only. It was concluded that the expert shooters showed better stability than novice shooters. This study presents implications regarding biomechanical aspects of standing shooting stance stability.","PeriodicalId":33134,"journal":{"name":"Scientific Journal of the Military University of Land Forces","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48510349","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In one instance, aggression is directed against the respondent with the intent to kill, in the other, against a bystander with no clear intent. Research conducted by the author both in 1999 and in 2018 involved 1st year military school students (basic training period). The conducted comparative analysis of empirical data allows the author to conclude that the morality of decisions concerning defensive actions in situations of threats of physical aggression depends primarily on the person against whom the aggression is directed (respondent, bystander) and the intensity of aggression. The analysis also gives grounds for postulating a thesis that between 1999 and 2018, there has been a positive change in the moral awareness of candidates for the Officer Corps of the Polish Armed Forces.","PeriodicalId":33134,"journal":{"name":"Scientific Journal of the Military University of Land Forces","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45859739","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main analysed materials were the works of famous representatives of the art of war, Generals: Sun-Tzu, Carl von Clauzewitz and Franciszek Skibiski. The analysis of the views contained in the works under consideration indicates that the main attributes that distinguish a commander should be wisdom, character and physical fitness. A generals wisdom is the ability to make good use of knowledge obtained from reading and experience. Character is a set of qualities, which include above all: goodness, strictness, reliability and the cardinal virtues: fortitude, prudence, justice and temperance. Physical fitness is understood more broadly as a general state of health, which is a fundamental prerequisite for efficient command and should be shaped for command purposes mainly through combat sports.","PeriodicalId":33134,"journal":{"name":"Scientific Journal of the Military University of Land Forces","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42034962","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Its various theoretical and empirical approaches invariably explain new and often hidden phenomena arising at the interface between institutional society and the economy. Its essence is trust built on relationships between people and between people and institutions that are the pillars for shaping security, in the broadest sense of the term, as well as the feeling of security among citizens. Social capital is also a scientific category requiring constant reconstruction and permanent attention in relation to changing social, cultural, political and economic realities. The primary (cognitive) aim of this article is to identify the characteristics of the social capital of Kodzko County, its peculiarities and implications for the security of the region and its citizens (not only in the social dimension).","PeriodicalId":33134,"journal":{"name":"Scientific Journal of the Military University of Land Forces","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43373761","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The article presents the principle of equality that has a number of manifestations, one of which is the principle of gender equality meaning equal approach to all relevant issues regardless of gender. Gender stereotypes, gender behavioural norms and problems of gender identification in the modern Ukrainian society are analysed. The problem of gender differences is associated with the fact that due to the continuous dynamic changes in the world, more and more questions arise as to the impact of certain gender stereotypes on professional activities of a person. One of the currently discussed issues is the impact of gender mainstreaming on the role of women in the military, as well as the impact on the effectiveness of military operations with their participation.The results of the research confirm that the principle of equal rights and possibilities for the service people of both genders is implemented in the army; however there is still the necessity to strengthen educational activities among the personnel, first of all, among the units and subdivisions of Ukraines Armed Forces. For the last few years, considering the fulfilment of assigned tasks in both everyday life and combat operations, the role of servicewomen has increased. To determine theoretical foundations of that problem the theoretical methods of generalisation, scientific analysis and synthesis were implemented. Corresponding software was used to process empirical data and to conduct analytical calculations. Analytical processing of information was engaged to solve the problem of scientific analysis of the events as a holistic phenomenon.","PeriodicalId":33134,"journal":{"name":"Scientific Journal of the Military University of Land Forces","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47942545","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
