From the point of view of this criterion of understanding security, the political, military, economic, and social factors are crucial. Along with Poland’s accession to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and the European Union, membership in these organizations has become the basis for building the national security system and is positively perceived by most of the society. However, it should be remembered that the volatility of the security environment and the immediate environment of Poland brings about new challenges (migration processes, energy supply issues, the power policy of the Russian Federation) that may give rise to anxiety and a sense of threat. The analysis is based on statistical data published by Eurostat, reports from this statistical institution, and a critical analysis of scientific literature.\u0000The considerations aim to comparatively analyze trends and phenomena occurring in relation to selected spheres of cultural economics and cultural security in EU countries in 2011-2018.\u0000The article establishes that the selected economic conditions formed after 2011 may have positively impacted the state of cultural security in EU countries. That was primarily determined by the increase in employment in the cultural sector, the promotion of sustainable employment based on gender parity, and the continually increasing number of enterprises offering access to cultural goods and services. These contacts concern culturally disparate people holding values, desires, views or habits of variable acceptability. Therefore, we are witnessing that what some find good, others consider strange or wrong. Disputes, controversies and conflicts are characteristic of the democratic system, and pluralism is one of the constitutional foundations of democracy. The existence and clashing of differences are often the source of conflicts in democratic societies. Social conflicts have been, are, and will continue to accompany us every day, because their scale is very wide, from ordinary quarrels, even to wars. This paper describes the method used in documenting the requirements for an IT system intended to support management of air transportation of military and dual-use goods. The work was completed in conjunction with a private logistics company. The project produced a Software Requirements Specification document and a working prototype. The document and prototype are held by the Military University of Land Forces of Poland.\u0000Requirements were solicited from numerous sources. A private logistics company, numerous books and personal experience of the team members all contributed to requirements. These requirements were then analyzed and a final set of requirements was produced.\u0000Screen mock-ups and a working prototype were developed. Selected screen shots are within the paper. The integration process with NATO’s political and military structures is long-term and requires the constant commitment of all state structures and institutions. Participation in the joint creation of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization Member States’ defense force means, under Article 3 of the Treaty, the states’ maintenance and development of individual and joint capacity to counter armed attack. Thereby Poland is also obliged to conduct defense preparations in the national dimension. It requires providing formal, legal, and organizational conditions for the country’s functioning in the event of increasing the national defense readiness. Such conditions are necessary to perform tasks as part of national defense carried out on its territory and the territory of other states – the Members of the Alliance.\u0000The content presented in this article attempts to present legal, institutional, and instrumental aspects of defense preparations in Poland in the context of allied obligations. They concern the need for all NATO Member States to maintain and develop individual and joint capabilities to counter an armed attack. KTO) designed in Poland. They constituted a deep modernization of the Czechoslovakian SKOT medium wheeled armored transporter. The paper presents the genesis of works on these vehicles and their main contractor, Military Automotive Works No. 5 in Poznań, which has dealt with repairs and modernization of combat vehicles since the 1950s. In the following part, the tactical and technical data of the basic version of the Ryś wheeled armored personnel carriers and special-purpose vehicles based on it are discussed, with particular attention paid to the versions that are of interest to the Ministry of National Defense. Lenart","doi":"10.5604/01.3001.0014.5865","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.5604/01.3001.0014.5865","url":null,"abstract":"The study aims to assess the relationship between the body structure, physical fitness, and functional parameters of the respiratory system of the cadets from the General Tadeusz Kościuszko Military University of Land Forces (AWL) and their results in passing selected obstacle courses. The research material was collected from testing cadets of the third year of management studies. The research included anthropometric measurements, physical fitness tests, spirometry, and tests determining the level of passing selected obstacle courses. Body height and weight were measured. The body mass index was also calculated. Besides, the following functional characteristics were measured: cardiopulmonary endurance, functional strength, running speed and agility, balance, forced expiratory volume in 1 second, forced vital capacity, and peak expiratory flow. The study also included tests determining the level of passing the land and water obstacle courses. Statistically significant relationships were found between height and weight, balance, and forced expiratory volume in 1 second. Moreover, there were correlations between body weight and body mass index and the results in passing the land obstacle course. In addition, there were connections between cardiopulmonary endurance and performance in passing the land obstacle course, body balance, and performance in passing the land and water obstacle course. However, nowadays, in the national and international dimension, their scope of tasks has been expanded to include projects in the field of supporting public administration bodies and society in crisis situations. That is due to the fact that the Armed Forces have unique, unprecedented in other response forces, opportunities to take effective action in the event of various crises. Thus, they have become an important enhancement of the crisis management system and civil protection. They can often constitute the main element of support for public administration bodies (central and local government) in solving emerging crisis situations. An important factor in the effectiveness of their actions in helping the society is the so-called crisis management system in the Ministry of National Defense. Wired media, thanks to their reliability and resistance to mechanical damage, seem an ideal solution. The BPL (Broadband over Power Line) cable is resistant to electricity stoppage and partial damage of phase conductors, ensuring continuity of transmission in case of an emergency. It seems an appropriate tool for delivering critical data, mostly clear and understandable voice messages. This paper describes such a system that was designed and evaluated in real-time operating conditions. It involved a two-way transmission of speech samples in American English and Polish.
