In this paper the performance of the optical uplink with differential phase shift keying (DPSK) scheme is evaluated in order to determine the optimum beam size that minimizes the average bit error rate (BER) and outage probability. Considering the combined effect of turbulence, and beam wandering close-form expressions for BER and outage probability are derived. The accuracy of the derived close-form expressions are verified by applying appropriate simulation scenarios, and numerical results. The obtained results show that the optimum beam size is 2 with zenith angle changes from 0 to 35°. This paper also, studies the system performance on optimized beam size considering the effect of changing satellite altitude, transmit power and zenith angle.","PeriodicalId":330822,"journal":{"name":"2019 Novel Intelligent and Leading Emerging Sciences Conference (NILES)","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130966552","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The clay processing in the traditional pottery industry contains several stages. The process and quality of the pottery have to be improved to reduce pollution and the manufacturing round time which could be done through improving the heating process. Towards this goal, turbulent three-dimensional numerical simulations for the in-use air inlet and a modified design are carried out. Results show the superiority of the proposed design.","PeriodicalId":330822,"journal":{"name":"2019 Novel Intelligent and Leading Emerging Sciences Conference (NILES)","volume":"58 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126898635","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Its technology has grown and touched several vital applications included industry and agriculture thanks to many advantages made it a better choice than the conventional serial robotic manipulator. This paper represents a new designed model of continuum arm robot, which relates the motor shaft angle as the input parameter and transfers the motor torque to combined system of compression springs and results in six outputs: x,y and z 3D coordinates for the center point of the end effector and $theta,~psi$ and $gamma$ to represent the angles of rotation around the three axis. As a black box, the system needs to be identified using different techniques from the common ones with the traditional instruments system we deal with in our daily life, so artificial neural network techniques are the solution for that dilemma. The system is trained many times to reach for high certainty results while the stage of validation and testing. Then the model is qualitatively tested while drawing its workspace which is expected to be like shell of semi sphere. After the stage of system identification, there is one about the control process of the system using fuzzy logic control, which depends of assigning fuzzification rules and using fuzzy sets to get the output. The main reasons for using that kind of controller that It deals most of time with the nonlinear systems which have multi-inputs and multi-outputs","PeriodicalId":330822,"journal":{"name":"2019 Novel Intelligent and Leading Emerging Sciences Conference (NILES)","volume":"154 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133979533","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The idea is to control the motor speed using the FOPID and compare it with the conventional PID controller. Two approximation techniques are employed to realize the FOPID, which are Matsuda and Oustaloup, each with order four. Different responses are depicted for various fractional orders. A specific case study for controlling the speed of a DC motor is investigated with selected fractional-orders. A comparison between the two applied techniques is proposed on the case study to determine which technique can be used to improve DC motor speed control.","PeriodicalId":330822,"journal":{"name":"2019 Novel Intelligent and Leading Emerging Sciences Conference (NILES)","volume":"79 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127340359","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
