The fiber parameters that meet the design consideration for low differential mode delay and large effective area have been investigated using the COMSOL multi-physics simulation tool. The obtained results show that the proposed fiber reduces the dispersion coefficient and the differential mode delay over the entire range of the C-L band.","PeriodicalId":330822,"journal":{"name":"2019 Novel Intelligent and Leading Emerging Sciences Conference (NILES)","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117162097","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This is achieved using the Pade’ approximation of the function of the lead/lag compensator by a rational integer-order function. Thanks to the employment of Operational Transconductance Amplifiers as active elements, the proposed scheme offers the benefit of electronic tuning capability of the characteristics of the compensator. In addition, the presented scheme is capable of implementing both types of compensators using the same topology. The performance of the proposed topology is evaluated using the Cadence software and MOS transistor models provided by the Austria Mikro Systeme 0.35μm CMOS process.","PeriodicalId":330822,"journal":{"name":"2019 Novel Intelligent and Leading Emerging Sciences Conference (NILES)","volume":"131 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121908243","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Over last decays, all researches in wind energy have focused on the optimization of traditional wind turbines. However, several configurations of wind turbines were adopted aiming to maximize the output power from the wind. Dual Rotor Wind Turbine (DRWT) was highlighted as a system that can present higher energy extraction from the incoming air flow of the wind. In this study, it is proposed to utilize DRWT system in a ducted system “lens” to enable its applications at low wind speed regions. The aerodynamics of the combined configuration and relevant performance has been investigated using CFD modelling to solve 3-D model, turbulent, steady and incompressible flow. Mesh independent study was done to guarantee the reliability of the results and to validate the single wind turbine model. Detailed investigations and power curves are illustrated for different configurations and compared to the Single Rotor Wind Turbine (SRWT). The proposed configuration for ducted dual rotor wind turbine demonstrates higher performance over all other configurations for the same incoming airflow. DRWT found to operate at lower Tip Speed Ratio (TSR) than the SRWT. Ducted dual rotor represents a new system that has superior performance in the low wind speed region and this good performance is extended at higher wind speed.","PeriodicalId":330822,"journal":{"name":"2019 Novel Intelligent and Leading Emerging Sciences Conference (NILES)","volume":"51 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128693301","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For this, researchers need to experiment different complicated architectures and advanced test scenarios with the help of testbeds. In this context, OpenAirInterface (OAI) has been introduced as an open source platform to implement testbeds for 5G experimentations based on Software Defined Radio (SDR) and general-purpose processors. However, the required manual configurations and operation of different nodes in OAI-based testbeds force researchers to spend more effort and time in building and operating the testbed rather than focusing on testing their new ideas and proposed algorithms. Thus, an innovative management platform is designed and developed to flexibly configure, operate and manage different OAI nodes in a centralized and remote manner. The platform is designed to automatically validate the consistency between different related configuration parameters for different OAI nodes, and adaptively operate different configurations and test scenarios. The operation of the developed platform is tested and its performance is validated using different test scenarios.","PeriodicalId":330822,"journal":{"name":"2019 Novel Intelligent and Leading Emerging Sciences Conference (NILES)","volume":"55 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128370330","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Recently, Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) shows noteworthy performance in enhancing the results of most image processing research points. In this paper, we use CNN for indoor-outdoor classification problem with the aid of a large database. Inception-v3 model (without its top layers) is used to extract scene features and extra three layers are attached to adopt the classification task. Our approach reaches an overall classification accuracy of 98.4% which shows the robustness of CNN over the old techniques.","PeriodicalId":330822,"journal":{"name":"2019 Novel Intelligent and Leading Emerging Sciences Conference (NILES)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133586699","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Also, a novel modeling for the system using a mixture between integer and fractional-order calculus is proposed. Dynamics of the new realization are illustrated using phase portrait diagrams with complex behavior. Also, a great change in the parameter ranges is investigated using bifurcation diagrams. MATLAB and Xilinx ISE 14.5 are used in system simulations. Furthermore, the digital hardware implementation is done using Xilinx FPGA Virtex −5 kit. The synthesis report shows that the mixed-order design utilizes 2019 slices and 1809 registers. This paper investigates the problem of tracking and counting multiple individual targets that are present in a binary sensor network. An enhanced probability hypothesis density-based filter is proposed by introducing the spatial and temporal dependencies in order to improve the targets localization accuracy. This paper investigates four of the existing target tracking and counting algorithms: 1) ClusterTrack filter, 2) A Distributed energy efficient algorithm (DEE), 3) Multicolor particle filter technique (MCPF) and 4) Probability hypothesis density filter. The implementation of dynamic counting techniques is considered to improve the efficiency of the estimations of targets trajectories. Simulations compare the performance of the proposed algorithm with the previously mentioned target tracking approaches, to verify the efficiency and accuracy of the proposed target counting and tracking technique in binary sensor networks.","PeriodicalId":330822,"journal":{"name":"2019 Novel Intelligent and Leading Emerging Sciences Conference (NILES)","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131310734","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Most of these processes require a positioning system that can achieve tens of millimeters stroke with a nanometer- range precision at the same time, which is impossible to achieve with conventional positioning stages. In this paper, a long stroke hybrid nanopositioning stage is presented. The proposed hybrid system consists of a new magnifying modular pantograph compliant piezo-actuated mechanism mounted above a long- stroke ball screw driven stage. This mechanism can compensate for the positioning errors of the underlying ball screw driven stage and achieve such requirements of nanometer-range precision at the same time. The dynamic model of the whole system is proposed in detail and its control system structure. Finally, the results are presented to verify the positioning accuracy of the hybrid system.","PeriodicalId":330822,"journal":{"name":"2019 Novel Intelligent and Leading Emerging Sciences Conference (NILES)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115259295","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
