Abstract

In this paper, a novel difference of Gaussian (DoG) FMF profile index has been proposed supporting six linearly polarized (LP) modes for multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO)free transmission. The fiber parameters that meet the design consideration for low differential mode delay and large effective area have been investigated using the COMSOL multi-physics simulation tool. The obtained results show that the proposed fiber reduces the dispersion coefficient and the differential mode delay over the entire range of the C-L band.
