For this purpose, we monitored the most popular weekly program “Facts of the week. 100 minutes” (the ICTV Channel) at the beginning of quarantine measures and for the period of one year and a half of pandemic. We conducted generalized, quantitative and qualitative content analysis of each edition of the pro-gram as well as ICTV Channel‟s programming net, directorial and script plans. We analyzed and determined the problems and topics of program materials. The percentage of issues selected by the program editorial board, as well as the COVID-19 related issues were defined. In addi-tion, the means of guests‟ involvement in broadcasting were classified, and among those speak-ers recorded offline, it was determined who complied with quarantine requirements and had individual protection means. A comparative analysis was also carried out to determine whether changes had occurred and, if so, what changes had been made in the means to involve the speakers in programs recording, as well as in those issues and topics that were selected for the program materials. It was ascertained exactly what changes took place during the quarantine restrictions, and what TV executives should pay attention to in order to create and to improve the product, particularly a need to maintain a balance in selection of subjects for coverage in analytical program and to keep in mind the requirements of quarantine restrictions. Methodology. The methods of content and thematic analysis and data systematization are used in the article. The data visualization method is used for quick perception of information for the third-party users. The factor method made it possible to study the influence of individual factors on the effective indicators of the studied Youtube channel. The comparative method was used when comparing the results and evaluation of Youtube channels, that allowed to demonstrate the general trend. Results, conclusions. In the conditions of the beginning of the active phase of the RussianUkrainian war, the Central Television and Radio Studio of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine was forced to reorganize its work and content. The produced content began to be covered exclusively through the official Youtube channel “Military Television of Ukraine”. The growth of the channel‘s audience in the first three months of the active phase of the Russian-Ukrainian war became possible due to ―aggressiveness‖ and uniqueness of the content: about combat operations, losses of Russian troops in manpower and military hardware, invincibility, feats and professionalism of the Ukrainian soldiers. A characteristic feature of the Youtube project of the Central Television and Radio Studio of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine ―Military Television of Ukraine‖ is in its positioning as an official source of information from the military command about the execution of assigned tasks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It is an important instrument of the state propaganda for supporting and promoting the civilizational choice of Ukraine through the armed forces as a guarantor of reliable protection of this choice. The content of the Central Television and Radio Studio of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine can either be offered to the national TV channels, or become the basis of broadcast of a separate military TV channel in the case of making a decision on its creation.","PeriodicalId":328436,"journal":{"name":"Scientific notes of the Institute of Journalism","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133745872","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The numerous scientific works of Ukrainian press experts make it possible to realize the importance of press materials, particularly those ones that highlight the activities of Ukrainian patriotic communities and personalities whose contribution to development of an independent Ukrainian state is difficult to overestimate. An important task arises: to carry out the scientific research on journalistic materials, which makes it possible to study the social processes that took place on the country‘s territory with the beginning of Ukraine‘s independence. The article is devoted to analysis of the book of essays by Ihor Zots, the Ukrainian journalist, a long-time chief editor of the newspaper “Donechchyna”. This edition can be considered to be an important historical phenomenon not only of the regional but also the national press studies. First of all, it is notable that on its pages it was issued the stories about the residents of Donetsk region, the true Ukrainians and the worthy patriots, whose thoughts, actions, and daily hard work laid the foundations of the Ukrainian idea, protecting it as much as possible in the difficult realities of the East which was under the influence of Russia. The methods that were used during the research of the book of assay as a result of studying the fate of the heroes and their contribution to development of the region and the country in general can be noted as follows: the method of functional-pragmatic analysis, the method of content analysis, the method of observation — they were used to select the actual material, such as the essays about the prominent people of Donetsk region, their influence on social processes in the region; the method of identification — for determining the vocabulary (emotionally or neutrally loaded words) and the construction of texts (from the plot to culmination and outcome); the method of description was used to characterize the images of individuals and events, trends and features associated with them; the comparison method was used to determine the degrees of significance of the selected topic and the sequence of presentation of actual material; the method of generalization was used in the process of forming the research conclusions. It is worth noting the importance of this book and above all the historical value of the facts presented in the essays, most of which has documentary nature. The essays “Donbasiia” have a life-affirming character, although they tell about the heartbreaking events from the lives of their heroes against the background of one of the most problematic, as we can now say, regions of Ukraine. The study has the following tasks: to study the other scientific researches about the topic; to survey the students of the 1st and the 4th years of ESIJ; to interview the administration of the institute and the guarantors of educational programs. Methodology of the study. A questionnaire was conducted among the 1st and 4th year students of all educational programs of ESIJ. The questionnaire for the 1st year students was focused on the reasons for entering the institute and the expectations from their studying, and the 4th year students evaluated the educational process, demonstrated their impressions of the institute and the degree of realization of their expectations. Thus, with the help of methods of abstraction and extrapolation, we found out the opinions of all ESIJ students on the specified issue. At the same time, the interviews were conducted with the guarantors of the institute‘s educational programs and the representatives of its administration about their vision of the image of a ESIJ graduate, optimization of the educational process, communication with the students and presentation of the educational programs to the applicants. Therefore, a narrative analysis was applied to their comments, and with the help of the methods of interpretation and generalization, we singled out the common considerations for the representatives of this institute regarding this specified issue. Results and conclusions. The article analyzes and systematizes the students‘ expectations from the educational process, interaction with the university, and generally higher journalism education. It was found that at the time of entrance competition the students sometimes have the inappropriate expectations from their studying, and the 4th year students are more skeptical of obtaining higher journalism education than their younger colleagues. The guarantors of the programs put the emphasis on creating the favorable conditions for studying, developing creativity and providing the basic and professional knowledge. The researches of scientists show that satisfaction with studying at a higher education institution is a significant factor in a student‘s professional self-efficiency. There is also information that the 1st year students (more than 4th year ones), demonstrate an evident correlation between adaptation to higher education institution and attitude to their studying. There is a need to take the communication between higher education institutions and applicants/students to a more professional level in order to avoid formation of inappropriate expectations from studying at the university.","PeriodicalId":328436,"journal":{"name":"Scientific notes of the Institute of Journalism","volume":"256 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115009090","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Based on the examples of journalistic texts of the 20s by the Austrian writer Joseph Roth, we have analyzed the anthropological methods which were used by this author in his reportages, that is the main objective of this study. Using diachronic comparison, qualitative method and content analysis to evaluate and to explain the concept of Joseph Roth’s texts, as well as the methodology of textual, syntagmatic (by Volodymyr Propp) and paradigmatic analysis (by Claude Levi-Strauss), we have examined the generated meanings in the texts of the mentioned author.\u0000\u0000As a result of the study, we have identified four methods that Joseph Roth used writing his news reportages in the 1920s, including “In Midday France” and “White Cities”. Those methods are as follows: overt observation, in-depth interviews, fixing details and gaining empirical experience. The modern authors call these methods as classic ones, without which it is impossible to work in this genre. As we have seen from the examples of literary reportages of the French cycle by Joseph Roth, the anthropological tools used by this author for his works contributed to deepening and improving the quality of his texts which is of great significance for our study. Joseph Roth created a panoramic picture of the twentieth century in his texts through watching, communicating and studing. However, it is worth to add that he was often too subjective, suffering harsh criticism for this.","PeriodicalId":328436,"journal":{"name":"Scientific notes of the Institute of Journalism","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128729152","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is established that there are both social and psychological barriers in communication with the people with disabilities. The social barriers include the different worldviews as there are many barriers (physical, moral ones) in the lives of people with disabilities. The psychological barriers include isolation, shyness, hiddenness, incommunicability of people with disabilities, caused by the attitude towards them in the society. These barriers also have to do with certain fear towards the people with disabilities from those ones who do not have such problems. A questionnaire was conducted to understand the points of contact between the society, the people with disabilities and the media, to hear the opinions of both the people with disabilities (235 persons) and those ones without disabilities (309 persons) and to find the answers to why there is no correlation, mutual understanding between the society, the people with disabilities and the media. Using a number of keywords on each of the leading Ukrainian media sites, the publications about people with disabilities during the pandemic were monitored. Such studies made it possible to determine how much the media were interested in covering such information. The comparative method was used to find the similarities and the differences in the views of people with and without disabilities regarding the role of the media in their lives and the factors that impede d communication in the society. The descriptive method made it possible to record the information gained from the survey and other sources. It was found out that the people with disabilities were either cursorily covered in the media during the pandemic or were not mentioned at all even though it was one of the most vulnerable groups of people in terms of health. There was almost no information about the course of disease within this category of population: the statistical data on disabled people with coronavirus, in particular about the consequences and the risks for their health were not separated into a separate group. It was ascertained that the difference between the people with and without disabilities was in their views on ignoring the information about the people with disabilities.
