The objective of the research is to study the main techniques of fake creation on the basis of experimental fakes traced in the Ukrainian information space. The methods used in the article are the following: analysis – to study the state of media landscape as to availability of fake news; the system method – to establish the ways of fake dissemination; the systematization method – to determine fakes’ features and characteristics. The preconditions, reasons and specifics of creation and intentional dissemination of false information in the society are studied in the article. As a result of the research, the role of pilot projects related to fake dissemination as part of popularization of ideas of media literacy and media education has been identified. It is analyzed the impact of experimental fake news on the media and the general public, in particular on dissemination of messages by the users in social networks. Simultaneously the thesis that regional journalists automatically rewrite and repost the Ukrainian mass media is refuted, as we have traced their professional response to dissemination of false information. The verification of facts (fact checking) is mandatory for journalists and necessary for every consumer of information, as making the media responsible for the facts is not an indication of media literacy.","PeriodicalId":328436,"journal":{"name":"Scientific notes of the Institute of Journalism","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129483792","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The authors present the material in the form of a discussion, while the arguments and the counterarguments cover the key principles of current understanding of journalism in the modern information flow, taking into account a growing share of social media in the life of the society. The result of the discussion was formation of a scientific problem of the modern interpretation of artistic journalism in the system of media activities and in the field of content of professional media education. The key conclusion of the discussion was actualization of the need to rethink the artistic journalism as a model of reflecting the reality in the new information realities.","PeriodicalId":328436,"journal":{"name":"Scientific notes of the Institute of Journalism","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129573330","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the several methods of research was to analyze the publications of I. Bahrianyi and about I. Bahrianyi, which we found on the pages of this newspaper. In particular, in the course of this task, a new valuable fact about Ivan Bahrianyi’s collaboration with the edition for eighteen years (1945 – 1963) was obtained, the publications of this period were analyzed and the peculiarities of the newspaper’s functioning when it was headed by Ivan Bahrianyi were ascertained. It is revealed that on the pages of this edition I. Bahrianyi acted in several posts: as the author of journalistic articles and works of art, as the editor-in-chief, and as a prominent political figure of the Ukrainian diaspora (the chairman of the URDP, the head of the Ukrainian National Council).\u0000\u0000However, in whatever role Ivan Bahriany appeared on the pages of the newspaper (publicist, author of art works, public figure, editor), each of them was important and each of them can be considered as a separate cultural and spiritual property, but at the same time they all make up the phenomenon, which undoubtedly deserves a separate section in the history of the press of Ukrainian political emigration in the mid and the second half of the twentieth century.","PeriodicalId":328436,"journal":{"name":"Scientific notes of the Institute of Journalism","volume":"71 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115087335","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
