This era was later referred to as the era of volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity (VUCA). This study aims to analyze the comparative interest of students in literary literacy through reading and listening activities in the VUCA era. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. Research data was collected through the Google Questionnaire instrument which contained statements related to comparisons between students' literary literacy activities through reading and listening activities. The data obtained is then analyzed and interpreted then described. The results of this study indicate that the number of students who are very interested in literature teaching materials in book form, namely 11 people (13.4%), while the number of students who are very interested in literature teaching materials in video form, namely 36 people (43.9%) ). The number of students who were very able to focus on reading literature learning books, namely 20 people (24.4%), while the number of students who were very able to focus on listening to literature learning videos, namely 33 people (40.2%). The number of students who collected information about literature by reading books was 13 people (15.9%), while the number of students who researched information about literature by watching videos was 30 people (36.6%). The number of students who read literature learning books very regularly, namely 7 people (8.5%), while the number of students who very regularly watched literature learning videos, namely 17 people (20.7%). The number of students who strongly agreed to prepare for learning literature by reading books, namely 8 people (9.8%), while the number of students who strongly agreed to prepare for learning literature by watching videos, namely 16 people (19.5%). Therefore, it is necessary to carry out a learning transformation and efforts to increase literary literacy through digitizing learning media. Efforts to improve the quality of literary literacy in the VUCA era cannot only be focused on reading activities, but also utilizing listening activities. AbstrakEra disrupsi yang penuh dengan fenomena ketidakpastian telah mempengaruhi cara berpikir dan bertindak masyarakat saat ini, termasuk dalam konteks pendidikan. However, this also allegedly contained in Natsume Soseki’s Rondontō (published in 1905), way before the concept itself was being established. Rondontō tells about the visit of Japanese student to the Tower of London, where he experienced various irrational things. To prove Rondontō's values as a text with the genre of magical realism, we use five categorizations of magical realism by Wendy B. Faris. with literature review method. We categorize the magical realism characteristic in this text where irreducible elements were found in the form of the presence of spirits, then phenomenal world elements were fouind through the detailed descriptions and the appearance of unusual elements themselfs. In addition, there is also an element of unsettling doubt that is raised through the doubts of the main character in understanding his experience, which is connected to the merging of realms where the two worlds are joined between the fantasy stage and the real world. The main character keeps moving in time and places which indicates the occurrence of space and time disturbances. The presence of these five categorizations of magical realism indicates that Rondontō contains magical realism in it. Retnaningdyah","doi":"10.26499/jentera.v12i1.6025","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.26499/jentera.v12i1.6025","url":null,"abstract":"This study discusses the environmental issue distortion of the game Dark Souls using Garrard's ecocriticism theory and uses the qualitative descriptive method to analyze the data. The objectives of the study are to show the disruption of the natural order and its consequences. This study is conducted by gathering data from the game through screenshots and dialogues while also from the video through the narrative. The study shows that the disruption of natural order occurred because the individuals of the Age of Fire did not desire their era to end with them being replaced by the Age of Dark, which would be humanity's era, and thus do whatever is necessary to extend the Age of Fire, despite the fact that involves changing the nature of humanity itself. The consequences of the disruption experienced by every individual as the world grew hostile and dangerous, the world's logic warped, individuals suffering from the world's conflict as many resigned to their ultimate fate. Despite acknowledging environmental problems, few solutions have been formulated, leading to the continued deterioration of nature. AbstrakPenelitian ini membahas isu lingkungan yang menyimpang dari gim (permainan) Dark Souls dengan menggunakan teori ekokritik Garrard dan menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif untuk menganalisis data. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menunjukkan gangguan terhadap tatanan alam dan konsekuensi dari gangguan terhadap tatanan alam tersebut. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan mengumpulkan data dari gim melalui tangkapan layar dan dialog, serta video melalui narasi. Temuan dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terganggunya tatanan alam terjadi karena individu-individu di Zaman Api tidak menginginkan era mereka berakhir dan digantikan oleh Zaman Kegelapan, yang akan menjadi era umat manusia sehingga mereka melakukan apa saja untuk memperpanjang Zaman Api, meskipun hal itu berarti mengubah sifat dasar dari umat manusia itu sendiri. Konsekuensi dari gangguan yang dialami oleh setiap individu ketika dunia menjadi semakin tidak bersahabat dan berbahaya, logika dunia menjadi bengkok, individu-individu yang menderita akibat konflik dunia banyak yang pasrah pada nasib mereka. The community environment knows violation education which is closely related to Quran teachers. The discussion about teachers in literary works is interesting to study, one of them is in the novel Ghuffron by Humam S. Chudori, which tells about the ups and downs of a Quran teacher. This study aims to describe the portrait of the Quran teachers found in the novel. This research uses literature study with qualitative descriptive approach, note-taking technique to collect data in the form of quotations from the novel as data analysis method and literature sociology as approaches. The results show that the portrait of the Quran teacher, based the community views, as a person who is knowledgeable, respected and trusted, sincerel and professional because teaching is a noble job. AbstrakPeran guru tidak lepas dari tugas untuk mengoptimalkan pendidikan. Lingkungan masyarakat mengenal pendidikan langgar yang erat kaitannya dengan guru mengaji. Pembahasan tentang guru dalam karya sastra menarik untuk dikaji, salah satunya dalam novel Ghuffron karya Humam S. Chudori, yang menceritakan tentang lika-liku kehidupan guru mengaji. Penelitian yang menggunakan studi pustaka dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan potret guru mengaji yang terdapat dalam novel tersebut. Selain itu, peneliti menggunakan metode analisis data dengan teknik simak catat dan mengumpulkan data berupa kutipan dalam novel serta menggunakan pendekatan sosiologi sastra. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method. The data collection method uses library research. The researcher watched The Forbidden Kingdom movie, then read books and journals that related to the topic. Data analysis was carried out by descriptive analysis between the data obtained and the explanation of the theory. The findings are the author represents the East through Lu Yan, The Silent Monk, Warlord, and Monkey King. Lu Yan represents a lazy and irrational person, The Silent Monk represents a harbored suspicion person, Warlord represents a depravity and inhuman person, and Monkey King represents a foolish person. The author also represents the East through the forests which have high grass and the deserts which have extreme weather. These places are dangerous and not friendly. The author also represents the East through citizens who are irrational and love violence. The author describes dependency on East to West, through China to Jason, while Jason is pulled by the golden staff to China in order to make China peaceful. AbstrakTujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menggambarkan representasi serta ketergantungan Timur dan Barat menggunakan teori orientalisme milik Edward Said. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan studi pustaka. Peneliti menonton film The Forbidden Kingdom kemudian melakukan pembacaan terhadap buku dan jurnal terkait dengan topik yang akan diteliti. Analisis data dilakukan dengan cara analisis deskriptif antara data-data yang diperoleh dengan penjelasan teori. Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu pengarang merepresentasikan Timur melalui tokoh Lu Yan, Biksu Pendiam, Warlord, dan Raja Monyet. Lu Yan digambarkan sebagai sosok yang pemalas dan irasional, Biksu Pendiam digambarkan sebagai sosok yang memendam rasa curiga, Warlord digambarkan sebagai sosok yang bejat moral dan tidak manusiawi, serta Raja Kera digambarkan sebagai sosok yang bodoh. Pengarang juga merepresentasikan Timur melalui hutan yang mempunyai rerumputan tinggi dan padang pasir yang bercuaca ekstrim. Dua tempat ini berbahaya dan tidak bersahabat. Pengarang juga merepresentasikan Timur melalui kehidupan sosial warga yang irasional dan mendahulukan kekerasan.
