In this situation, maintaining quality of life (QoL) and wellbeing for older adults will need support of complementary, nontraditional, ICT-based care practices. vINCI project, part of the European research effort in this domain, aims to deliver an integrated technology for the monitoring and instrumentation of the QoL intervention for older adults. The process of designing the vINCI application is based on the patient profile model that will be the input to provide personalized healthcare. The profile is used as evidence to evaluate the impact of vINCI solution on the perceived quality of life provided by caregivers. This paper proposes a complementary approach in modelling the user profile by identifying the needs and preferences of elderly and translating them into development requirements of the vINCI monitoring platform. In this respect, this paper proposes a methodology and methods to define user needs, which are based upon the User Centered Design principles, such as user surveys. The needs survey provides information that is used to specify the needed functional and nonfunctional requirements that vINCI platform must support.","PeriodicalId":324813,"journal":{"name":"2020 12th International Conference on Electronics, Computers and Artificial Intelligence (ECAI)","volume":"53 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133367256","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper presents a Deep Learning approach for credit scoring. We have defined the credit score as a cost obtained by a weighted sum of the number of false negative errors (FN) and the number of false positive errors (FP). Our objective was to obtain the lowest possible score. The largest weight is allocated to the indicator FN (this corresponds to the prediction of bad credit as good credit). As a consequence, our best credit score corresponds to minimization of Miss Alarm Rate (MAR) for a given sum of total errors. The proposed model of cost minimization uses state of the art mathematical algorithms and deep learning techniques. In our work, we use optimization algorithms for selecting a deep learning neural network architecture and for finding the optimum hyperparameters. The method is tested using the German credit dataset. The best result leads to a MAR of 3%.","PeriodicalId":324813,"journal":{"name":"2020 12th International Conference on Electronics, Computers and Artificial Intelligence (ECAI)","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133622433","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Starting with some theoretical elements related to entropy, various types of estimators are presented, and some are discussed, as the approximate entropy (ApEn), the sample entropy (SampEn), and the multiscale entropies (MSE). The case studies contain synthetized signals as white Gaussian noise, 1/f noise, and random signals with a probabilistic structure, ended with real vibration signals generated by faults in bearings. Finally, a change detection criterion is promoted based on the average of multiscale entropy and cumulative sum technique. The study is useful for a better understanding of the entropy-based methods for change detection in the structure of the time-series and it prepares the next level of the research, i.e. methods based on Renyi entropy with recursive estimators – when possible - and their extension to chaotic and stochastic systems, especially from the structure change detection point of view.","PeriodicalId":324813,"journal":{"name":"2020 12th International Conference on Electronics, Computers and Artificial Intelligence (ECAI)","volume":"67 6","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132678942","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The production and use of electricity from classical or renewable energy sources can no longer be conceived without the automation of the technological process. The SCADA system is a technology that allows the operator to receive information from equipments located at distance and to send them instructions with limited control, in order to monitor and control the technological processes. Because the existing system is weak and the information’s are insufficient, it was proposed to optimize the graphical interface of the SCADA system. The proposed warnings are determined by the need to make a quick decision as a result of problems that may occur during the operation of energy installations. The interface was done with CITECT SCADA, and the improvements of the automation process will allow the implementation of this technology in the next stage.","PeriodicalId":324813,"journal":{"name":"2020 12th International Conference on Electronics, Computers and Artificial Intelligence (ECAI)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131292394","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Its disadvantages, like very low signal-to-noise ratio and susceptibility to radio frequency interferences, are generally compensated by signal pre-processing techniques. The technology has advanced and offers us Decision Support Systems (DSS), using complex solutions. In recent decades, the number of DSSs developed for water resource management has grown significantly, and computer systems have become more complex by integrating water management processes, Internet of things (IoT) sensors, multi-criteria decisions and why not even serious games. The involvement of several stakeholders in the decision-making process has high importance for a successful DSS, facilitating the analysis of approaches from different fields. In order to find a cost-efficient balance in managing water resources, it is necessary to reach several objectives in different fields. The current paper aims to make a brief review of technological development and integration to highlight the socio-economic benefits.","PeriodicalId":324813,"journal":{"name":"2020 12th International Conference on Electronics, Computers and Artificial Intelligence (ECAI)","volume":"103 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129650223","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
