What seems obvious is a relatively small number of scientific works that focus on the methods and techniques of sociolinguistic research and works on typology, including the question of the principles of creating a typological classification of languages. An attempt to create such a classification was presented in a six-volume international work on the languages of the peoples of the world (published in Canada 2000, 2003, Quebec, Laval University). However, this work was not completed and was limited only to an inventory of the social functions of a number of world languages. The article proposes to develop the principles of a functional classification based on the material of the languages of Russia. For this purpose, the descriptions of social functions in the Canadian-Russian work, the encyclopaedia „Language and Society‟ will be used, as well as data from sociolinguistic studies of the languages of Russia. Social functions can be measured using the method of calculating the demographic and communicative power of languages. The authors believe that the development of such a classification, its scientific basis will lead not only to the development of sociolinguistics, but can also become a prerequisite for its further progress. The paper analyzes the principles of identifying the functional types of languages, considers the integral and differential features of different groups, identified on the basis of the social functions of the languages of Russia. The authors distinguish seven functional types, starting with a language with global social functions (Russian), and ending with the languages of temporary linguistic communities (migrants and migrant laborers). At the same time, the authors consider the social functions of the Russian language in different linguistic communities, including communities situated outside the territory of Russia. The languages of the second functional type are further analyzed, such as Tatar language, Tuvinian language, Chuvash language, Bashkir language, Yakut language, languages of minorities and languages of migrants. The process of globalization has increasingly imposed the need for communicative competence and understanding of the culture of nations that use a foreign language, requires the development of not only language skills in learners, but also of critical thinking, soft skills and social responsibility. In this light, the paper aims to present the experience of one of the schools that are benchmark institutions of the higher educational system of Republic of Bulgaria – D. A. Tsenov Academy of Economics – Svishtov in further development of foreign language competencies through master degree e-learning courses in business communications. It covers the evolution of the master’s degree in social science with business communications training in a foreign language over the past 20 years reaching peak level of over 2,500 students on annual basis and covering 100% of the master degree students. The foundations of distance learning of foreign languages at the observed Academy were laid in the period 2001 – 2003 with two pilot courses: \"Business Communications in English\" and \"Business Communications in German\". These courses were included and therefore require less in-class interaction and considerably more self-study. The study load for these modules is 2 classes per week, or a total of 28 classes per semester. Quality motor skills enable participation in various forms of activities in the children's group and thus contributes to the process of socialization. It is the basis for personal growth in the next stages of human life. The aim of the project is to describe and analyze the relationship between the level of fine motor skills of the child and his cognitive abilities with an emphasis on the level of verbal skills. The research was approved by Ethics Committee of Educational Faculty, Palacky University in Olomouc and took place at primary schools in the Czech Republic. The research group consisted of 96 children with an average age of 9.49 ± 0.8 years (girls 9.27 ± 0.72, boys 9.78 ± 0.81). The level of motor skills was monitored by MABC-2 test battery. The cognitive ability test (CAT) was used to determine the level of cognitive abilities. Data were analyzed by correlation analysis and gender differences were assessed based on the results of the t-test. Data were obtained within the project IGA_PdF_2021_017. The results suggest a relationship between some aspects in the child's level of motor skills and vocabulary, including the ability to compose sentences. In the area of vocabulary, gender differences were observed in the research group. Further research conducted on larger groups of children could be aimed not only at deepening knowledge in this area, but also at the future aimed use of children's motorics development programs to support executive functions. test battery evaluate the level of motor skills, respectively. motor development. Manual dexterity tests are based on pin placement (MD 1), lacing (MD 2) and drawing a path (MD 3) subtests. Tests focused on gross motor skills include subtests of catching with both hands (AC 1) and throwing a small bag on the mat (i.e. throwing at the target) (AC 2). Tests aimed on balance monitor the balance on the balance board (Bal1), walking forward with the heel touching the toe of the other foot (Bal 2) and hops on the mats (Bal 3). Within the study 49 phraseological units with elements – cosmonyms were selected which were decomposed into semantic components. The object of the research was phraseological units of English and French with cosmonym components having anthropocentric characteristics. The subject of research is semantic features of these phraseological units. Selected phraseological units carry characteristics of a person and his activities. The purpose of this study is to analyze English and French phraseological units with cosmonym components. To carry out the research the authors used general scientific and linguistic methods and techniques. In this work, it is necessary to highlight the use of a cognitive approach characterizing the orientation of the language to the description of a person and his activities. When considering the semantic features phraseological units with components – cosmonyms in this work were the following research methods were used: the method of continuous sampling of material from phraseological dictionaries; method of synthesis and analysis used in identifying the semantic features of phraseological units; method of classification, with the help of which it was possible to arrange the analyzed idioms in the desired sequence; quantitative method that allowed to compare quantitative data and process the results of a selection from English dictionaries; methods of observation and generalization. The author of the article offers an ideographic classification of selected phraseological units. As part of the study the semantics of phraseological units of the English language with components of cosmonyms is analyzed. It turned to a large-scale problem with the advent of technology and an easy access to a massive data of information on the internet. The shift to online learning made the situation even worse. The university faculty and management are trying to address this issue by introducing a strong policy and technology to increase the fairness and quality of the educational process. It is necessary to consider all the factors that exacerbate the situation with plagiarism among students. The problem of plagiarism among Kazakhstani students is little studied, especially during the transition to online learning. This prompted us to study the problem in higher educational institutions from Kazakhstani perspective. A survey was conducted to find out students’ understanding of plagiarism, its avoidance, causes and reasons, as well as students’ suggestions to overcome the problems of plagiarism in one of the higher education institutions in Kazakhstan. Data were collected through a structured survey from 161 undergraduate students of IT-related specialities in Astana IT University (AITU) in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan. The questionnaire consists of 22 questions, including 19 closed and 3 open-ended questions, divided into five parts. Despite the fact that students are aware of the academic integrity policy of the university and introduced with the plagiarism avoidance methods, the results of the descriptive and cross-sectional analysis show that they have poor knowledge on what plagiarism is and how to avoid it, therefore they cannot apply their knowledge in practice properly. Students’ reasons for committing plagiarism were categorized into two, individual and institutional. The individual reasons prevail institutional ones.
