Amongst the representatives, Quercus rubra has the most recordings. Moreover, three species classed as near threatened on the IUCN Red List were identified. The most significant contribution was made by the botanist S. Pașcovschi who amassed approximately one-third of the collection. The specimens were collected between 1872 and 1987, with a maximum activity between 1940 and 1949. The majority of the specimens were sampled from dendrological parks and botanical gardens in Romania, the Bazos Dendrological Park remarking itself with one of the most diverse collections of cultivated oaks. A considerable number of specimens were received from donations and exchanges with several herbaria. Most of the herbarium material is very well-preserved having high potential for future investigations.","PeriodicalId":320599,"journal":{"name":"ANNALS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF CRAIOVA, Biology, Horticulture, Food products processing technology, Environmental engineering","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131655379","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The pods are green up to 30 cm long and up to 4 cm in diameter, used in the immature phase in various dishes in the food field, but also medically, as an antidiabetic remedy. Research by specialists on a variety of plant material shows that some environmental conditions influence seed production. The experience was carried out in 2021 on the Acme and Smaranda okra varieties. The total production of okra seeds obtained in the seed culture was determined, as well as the number of capsules per plant, the size of the capsules, the number of seeds/capsule and the mass of 1000 seeds. The obtained results show that the variety Smaranda had a higher number of seeds and a negative linear correlation in the variety Smaranda and a positive linear correlation in the variety Acme between the length of the capsule and the number of seeds The environmental conditions experienced influenced the production of okra seeds.","PeriodicalId":320599,"journal":{"name":"ANNALS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF CRAIOVA, Biology, Horticulture, Food products processing technology, Environmental engineering","volume":"115 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133384520","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

At the beginning, at RDSPCS Dăbuleni, the study of as many varieties and hybrids as possible was considered, in order to determine which ones find optimal conditions for growth and development on sandy soils and which meet the demands of the constantly changing market. Another important concern in the research activity at RDSPCS Dăbuleni was related to the obtaining of extra-early and early productions. In the traditional culture, established by direct sowing, mulching the soil with polyethylene ensured a production increase of 5.2 t/ha, 0.9 t/ha representing extra-early production, and in the seedling culture, by mulching the total production increased by 7.2 t/ha, and extra-early production increased by 2.3 t/ha compared to the non-mulched crop. Plant grafting, regardless of cultivar, rootstock and protection method, showed resistance to the attack of Fusarium oxysporum, even when crop rotation was not respected, but did not influence the attack of foliar pathogens (Alternaria cucumerina and Colletotrichum lagenarium).","PeriodicalId":320599,"journal":{"name":"ANNALS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF CRAIOVA, Biology, Horticulture, Food products processing technology, Environmental engineering","volume":"76 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123804949","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Their adaptability is increasing given the relatively large diversity of environmental conditions. Mainly the new varieties are distinguished both by the increased production of grains and by the contents in active principles as high as possible. At the same time, soybeans provide the current level required for the sustainable structure of crops on a farm. The Raluca TD variety, studied for its specific morphological characters, is one of the newest creations. Even in the conditions with recent dry periods, this variety has formed plants with heights of over 65 cm, with a total plant weight of 30 g. 3-4 branches have formed on a soybean stalk. Each plant formed 40-50 pods, weighing 15 g and 60 berries that weighed 7-10 g. The bean was 6.8 mm long, 5.8-6 mm thick, and the absolute weight of the berries was 120 g. Significantly positive correlations were obtained between these morphological characters in most cases. Insignificant situations were between the length of the grain with the other characters, between the thickness of the grain with the other characters - with two negative exceptions. The mass of one thousand berries was positively correlated with the weight of the berries on a plant and the size of the berries. The variability of the determined characters was reduced to the height of the plants and the size of the grains, average values were to the number, the grains from one pod and high values to the other characters, mainly due to the existence of the dry bottom. However, the Raluca TD variety, with improved morphological characteristics, proved to be a good adaptability to the zonal cultivation conditions.","PeriodicalId":320599,"journal":{"name":"ANNALS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF CRAIOVA, Biology, Horticulture, Food products processing technology, Environmental engineering","volume":"45 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123981187","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

From the production plantations, 15 clonal elites from the Victoria and Augusta varieties were selected, cultivars known for the special quality characteristics they have. It was aimed, through the selection activity, to obtain a clonal lite from the respective varieties, a selection that would be superior to the population. Thus, clonal elites were selected, which overcame the varieties to which the clonal selection method was applied, by the weight of grapes and berries.","PeriodicalId":320599,"journal":{"name":"ANNALS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF CRAIOVA, Biology, Horticulture, Food products processing technology, Environmental engineering","volume":"73 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122727695","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
