Such types of practices are decorated more with sophisticated vocabulary, witty compliments, and discursive linguistics strategies by character portrayal, particularly as in the characters of “Khabardar,” Critical discourse analysis is a linguistic tool which is helpful to reveal the such type of manipulation as it is displayed in “Khabardar” and CDA also clarifies how and why the characters are being criticized. Actually, the characters in talk shows like “Khabardar” are intentionally revealing their ignorance of linguistic phenomena as well as convey real facts about social and political systems through witty remarks. Through CDA, the current study is centred on political and social scenarios for the illumination of hidden language games. This research is purely qualitative based on Fairclough's three-dimensional models and critically analyzes “Khabardar,” three episodes for sociopolitical elements and language games with the help of CDA.","PeriodicalId":320360,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Social Sciences Review","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131409940","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

An index of ownership structure and board composition is created using Principal Component Analysis (PCA). Earnings Management is calculated using the Real Earnings Management approach. The impact of ownership structure and board composition on earnings management is investigated using the generalized method of moments (GMM). The findings of the study indicate that an increase in the levels of institutional and family ownership (ownership structure) helps in restraining the opportunistic behavior of management from managing earnings and vice versa. Conversely, board composition has a positive and noteworthy impact on earnings management. The findings of this research are useful for corporate managers in understanding the importance of ownership structure and earnings management to restrict earnings management.","PeriodicalId":320360,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Social Sciences Review","volume":"140 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131896300","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Data were collected from 180 teachers working in different schools in Punjab, Pakistan. The sample was drawn using the convenience sampling technique. The direct and indirect hypotheses were tested using two-step Partial Least Square (PLS) path modelling. SEM has been used to analyze data. The findings of the research study designated the effect of servant leadership on work performance as essential. The results further revealed that in the relationship between servant leadership and work performance, team climate operates as a moderator, and this framework was mediated by employee ambidexterity. The work performance of teachers can be improved when the servant leaders encourage teachers to adopt ambidextrous activities by being exploration and exploitation according to the situation to meet challenges and overcome constraints. The study will act as a policy guide for Punjab School administration in areas such as employee performance enhancement through servant leadership style and employee ambidexterity, as well as team climate. The results of this study show that the impacts are tremendous and beneficial for the educational institutes of Pakistan.","PeriodicalId":320360,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Social Sciences Review","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131161534","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study examined the degree to which hijabi women were content with the design calibre, how it reflected their social and self-identities, and the degree to which they were willing to pay greater costs for certain fashion names. To achieve this, Hijabi women (n=198) were given structured online surveys, and the data were analyzed using SmartPLS Software. The findings show that hijabistas' willingness to pay higher costs is significantly influenced by the trendy nature of the design and how it reflects their social identities, which prominently express their religious responsibilities and commitments. The study's findings have significant ramifications for the fashion industry's ability to handle opportunities in the growing market for hijabistas' products and to satisfy their needs as consumers of fashion.","PeriodicalId":320360,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Social Sciences Review","volume":"45 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116123414","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The process of mentoring can be traced back to when man began to exist, Kochhar (2011). Systematic career guidance was started between 1890 and 1905 by Frank Parsons, who is known as the father of career guidance. Most of the students in secondary level schools face such problems so these problems can be solved easily with the guidance of teachers. The purpose of this research is to identify the main issue teacher training needs in secondary schools and the role of management in this. The study was limited by limited time, expertise, resources and respondents. This research is inspired by developmental theory and the design we have used in our research is descriptive with qualitative paradigm. Data were collected through a structured interview protocol of a prescribed questionnaire. A face-to-face interview protocol was used as a data collection tool. Data were analyzed through a thematic approach. Findings from this study suggested that since the teacher is in direct and omnidirectional contact with the students, if he is used directly for the purpose of guidance, it will be better for the students.","PeriodicalId":320360,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Social Sciences Review","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133447014","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, in the erstwhile Federally Administered Areas (FATA) which are now merged in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, known as Newly Merged Districts (NMDs), there is a dearth of such research. This study aimed to fill this void. Through two-staged sampling, 384 participants were selected and administered with WHO SAGE Vaccine Hesitancy Scale along with open-ended question for quantum and determinants of vaccine hesitancy. The study found that more than one third of the parents (35.41%) are severely hesitant regarding their children routine immunization while more than half (55.72) are moderately resistant which is alarming. Major factors affecting vaccine hesitancy are negative perceptions about vaccination (22.14%), religious conspiracies (14.06%), lack of information about vaccination (11.72%), fears of adverse effects (11.7%), Western funding for vaccination (6.25%) demand of other life necessities from the Government (7.81%) and few others. Interestingly, Odd Ratios (OR) values revealed that sever hesitancy is more prevalent in those who has both formal education and religious education (OR=19.4, p>.001) than only formally educated or religiously educated parents, this point need further investigation. Similarly, parents who has availed Seht Sahulat Card, sever hesitancy (OR=1.5, p>.001) in them was less than those who didn’t avail it (OR=1.3, p>.001). Results also showed that moderate hesitancy is more prevalent in high-income parents than middle- and lower-income parents. Expanded Program of Immunization – EPI was operational in NMDs (former FATA), but it got momentum recently, still there is alarming vaccine hesitancy in these areas. This call for a comprehensive and all-stakeholders inclusive strategy to eradicate this vaccine hesitancy in these vulnerable tribal areas of Pakistan.","PeriodicalId":320360,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Social Sciences Review","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117121328","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Underpinned by the interpretivist theory, in-depth, semi-structured interviews were conducted with ten blind and visually impaired students studying at IIU and NUML universities in Islamabad. All the students were given a chance to give a detailed account regarding the role of assistive technology in their English language learning experiences. The study revealed that the BVI students who made effective use of assistive technology proved more successful English language learners as compared with those who made less use of it. They had better access to study material, and were more successful in completing and submitting their tasks and assignments to their sighted teachers for their perusal with little assistance from sighted individuals. Assistive technology made the BVI learners independent, self-reliant and self-assured. Although very effective, yet assistive technology could not resolve all the problems confronted by blind and visually impaired students.","PeriodicalId":320360,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Social Sciences Review","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128676441","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study paves the way to provide hybridity as a product of culture and touches the theme of transculturalism which is compatible with globalization. This analysis explores the complexity of hybrid culture and how this culture prompts the racial identity. It is shown that hybridity is an alleged myth on which western culture is dominant. Wide Sargasso Sea gives the complete depiction of West Indies and it tells about the emancipation act of 1833 as well. It also describes few deep elements by mentioning characters who become the victim of this complexity. Doubtlessly transculture frees the human from boundaries and make the human as boundless entities with unique cultures but this concept “having no boundary” creates a lot of problems and the most imperative fact is “complexity of identities”. This study concludes with the assertion that hybrid culture prompts the racial identity.","PeriodicalId":320360,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Social Sciences Review","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125633077","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
