The quantitative (survey) design was used. The data were collected from 737 science students through a self-developed questionnaire based on multiple scales. The respondents consisted of both boys and girls science students of secondary and higher secondary schools. The questionnaire included questions about awareness of STSE approach and the problems impeding this approach in science teaching. The reliability of the questionnaire was established through Cronbach's alpha and found 0.87. Data were analyzed by using frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation (Descriptive Statistics). The result of the study revealed that students were familiar with this approach and considered it helpful to enhance the critical and scientific thinking skills of students as it leads to motivate them in learning the abstract concepts of science. The study recommended that science teachers may be given proper training to implement this approach in the classroom to teach science subjects effectively.","PeriodicalId":320360,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Social Sciences Review","volume":"247 11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129916456","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Past research evidence has shown that cancer patients experience a poor quality of life. Therefore, the present study assessed whether grit, social support and post-traumatic growth had a protective effect on the quality of life of cancer patients in Pakistan. A correlational research design was used for the study. 150 Participants from various hospitals and labs have been approached to collect data, including 70 men and 80 women with an age range of 21-75 who were selected through purposive sampling while the sample size was finalized through G Power analysis with 95 % confidence intervals. The Grit Scale, Post Traumatic Growth Inventory, Multidimensional Scale for Perceived Social Support and Quality of Life Scale was used for data collection. Data analysis for the study was executed through Pearson Correlation Analysis, Stepwise Regression and mediation analysis via the process. Results were indicative of a significant positive predictive association between grit, social support, socioeconomic status as well as time since diagnosis on the overall quality of life. The results of the mediation analysis indicated that social support mediated the relationship between Grit and Quality of life. The study recommends the need to enhance psychosocial care measures and interventions aimed at enhancing the quality of life outcomes for cancer patients.","PeriodicalId":320360,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Social Sciences Review","volume":"87 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126376655","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Hypothesis were tested first by using 430 samples in an independent-samples t-test. The mean value difference demonstrates that the social cause-related marketing (SCRM) project (mean = 3.784) has a significantly bigger effect on backing intention than the non-SCRM project (mean = 3.012). This supports the study hypothesis that individuals involved in SCRM crowdfunding have a higher backing intention than those who are not involved. The results further indicated significantly greater backing intentions with social cause-related marketing positive framing messages than negative attribute framing messages without cause-related marketing, whereas there was no significant difference between negative attribute framing messages with social cause-related marketing. This finding provides new insights for project initiators for using crowdfunding platforms for a social marketing campaign.","PeriodicalId":320360,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Social Sciences Review","volume":"18 1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126046102","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
