{"title":"Hijrah of Our Time: Islamic Concept of Religious Emigration in Contemporary Salafism","authors":"Jan Klik","doi":"10.24132/actaff.2022.14.1.1","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.24132/actaff.2022.14.1.1","url":null,"abstract":"This study presents a comparison of the religious-legal concept of the hijrah in the approach of schools of Salafism, which are the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant and the Muhammad al-Albani’s and his disciples’ teachings. The first, theoretical section of the submitted material, intends to provide a contextual ground on which the analytical chapter of this article is built up. The subsequent analytical section focuses on the breakdown of Salafist’s take on the hijrah through a qualitative content analysis of several texts that include, on one hand, the production of Muhammad al-Albani and his students, and on the other hand, the magazines Dabiq and Rumiyah, which were published on behalf of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant. The reason for choosing these particular authors and their conception of hijrah as the main research intention of the presented study is that on one hand the Islamic State represents the latest entity that conceptually grasped the topic and, above all, made it one of the pillars of its general ideology and on the other hand teachings of al-Albani are extremely influential in mainstream Salafism. The analysis showed that in general, both scrutinized Salafist schools are similar in the main principles, ie. both consider the hijrah to be an ongoing religious duty. However, they differ in details and also in the emphasis on violence, with the Islamic State emphasizing that hijrah and jihad are two stages of a single process, with the only possible destination for the hijrah being Islamic State territory.","PeriodicalId":319543,"journal":{"name":"Acta FF","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130826473","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The aim of the study is to classify and describe the type of word formation on the name Instagram using the word formation theory proposed by Sablayrolles, and to classify and analyze new words formed from the lexeme Instagram or from the fracto-lexeme insta- in the Czech language and French language. The study maps neologisms in the Czech language captured in the Neomat online database and neologisms in the French language captured in the Néoveille web platform for neologisms. The search results are compared with lexemes found in the corpora Czech Web 2017 (csTenTen17) and French Web 2017 (frTenTen17), and Araneum Bohemicum III Maximum and Araneum Francogalicum III Maximum. The two most common ways of forming words in Czech and French are affixation and compounding. Czech and French words formed by the derivational process of affixation use either prefixes or suffixes, or both. In compounding, two roots or complete words are combined to make a new word. The main result of the analysis is a list of derived and compound words from the lexeme instagram in Czech and French.","PeriodicalId":319543,"journal":{"name":"Acta FF","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115677337","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It was the first time since establishing the party in 2009 that the Pirates entered the lower house of the Czech Parliament. They took the third place with 10.79 % votes and won 22 seats out of 200. Their main programme points came out of typical “pirate policies” like control of power and the powerful ones, simplification of the running of the state through technology, protection of citizens from bullying and defence of freedom as well as basic Pirate principles including liberalism and direct democracy. Their programme was called “New Ideas for the New Age”. From a different view, this party presented itself as a watchdog of democracy and as an alternative mostly for liberal voters. This qualitative case study will provide a complex overview of the Pirate phenomenon in the Czech Republic from their establishment to their current role of an opposition party. This article aims to show and describe how the position of the Czech Pirates has varied over time. For this purpose, open data from the Czech Statistical Office (CZSO) and the findings from the Chapel Hill Expert Survey (CHES) dataset will be used. It is possible to say that the Pirates are playing the role of newcomers in the Chamber of Deputies after the 2017 elections, but they are not newcomers in the Czech party system.","PeriodicalId":319543,"journal":{"name":"Acta FF","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132971275","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It still receives rather marginal attention in Western research, while some Orientalists view the Qur´ān as a mere historical literary work. At the same time, Muslim scholars emphasize the great importance of studying the recitation and its oral tradition. The first closer conclusions regarding the historical study of various ways of Qur´ān recitation were presented by Shady Hekmat Nasser, whose examination represents a valuable contribution to Western Qur´ān research. However, some of his conclusions (e.g., concerning the origin of seven aḥruf) are supported by weak narrations, which are not accepted by Islamic practice and do not participate in the formation of the majority Muslim tradition. Therefore, the present study examines what the tradition has to say about itself, and thus the authenticity of my sources does not need to be addressed. The main contribution of this article is to present a comprehensive view of the formation of the science of Qur´ān recitations from the position of traditional qirā´āt literature with regard to classical Sunni sources and to provide a clear picture of how today´s Qur´ān students can master it. It has been found that recitation is perceived as the original way of communicating God´s message and all accepted recitations as an integral part of Revelation. Their rules are preserved in several methodological poems, which are intended to be memorized by Qur´ān experts just like the Qur´ān itself.","PeriodicalId":319543,"journal":{"name":"Acta FF","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115503979","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Chroustovský","doi":"10.24132/actaff.2022.14.1.6","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.24132/actaff.2022.14.1.6","url":null,"abstract":"První listopadový týden hostila novostavba berlínského Humboldtova fóra již jedenáctou konferenci mezinárodní skupiny pro výzkum hudby v archeologii (International Study Group on Music Archaeology1). Vzhledem ke koronavirovým omezením byla konference pořádána jako hybridní událost, některé části (workshopy, večerní koncerty) však nebyly vysílány online. Naprostá většina z přibližně 50 účastníků byla přítomna osobně, neboť společenský rozměr je nezastupitelnou a neopominutelnou součástí tohoto druhu setkávání. V případě sdílení a prezentace audiálního a akustického výzkumu (včetně hmotných rekonstrukcí nástrojů, ale i technik hry či zpěvu) jsou osobní kontakt a účast o to méně nahraditelné. Od poslední větší konference věnované archeologii zvuku a hudby navíc uběhly již čtyři roky (Chroustovský 2017). Konference sestávala z 15 odborných sekcí zahrnujících celkem 47 příspěvků (včetně pěti posterů).2 Vzhledem k převaze evropských badatelů zůstávalo těžiště zájmu na našem kontinentu, přesto byl geografický záběr příspěvků značný (jižní a střední Amerika, severní Afrika, Čína, Japonsko, Sumatra). Chronologický rozsah neměl hranice žádné, a příspěvky se tak rozpínaly od nejstarších mladopaleolitických nálezů až po nedávné či současné etnoarcheologické výzkumy. Po úvodních slovech pořadatelů (S. Hagel, L.-Ch. Koch, M. Mengel, D. Shehata) otevřela konferenci sekce Trends in music archaeology, v jejímž rámci byly nastíněny současné výzkumné projekty v Číně (F. Jiànjūn, laboratorní rekonstrukce a experimentování), v Jižní Americe (J. Peréz de Arce, zejména poznatky na základě etnografických výzkumů společností žijících v Andách) a v Evropě (A. Gruszczyńska-Ziólkowska, polský projekt Archeologiczne instrumenty muzycne w polskich zbiorach muzealnych). Tradiční jádro konference tvořily sekce věnované jednotlivým kategoriím hudebních nástrojů, z nichž nejčetněji byly zastoupeny dechové (osm) a samozvučné (sedm). Široké spektrum dechových nástrojů prezentovaly zejména nejstarší paleolitické flétny z oblasti švábské Jury (S. Münzel, G. Dalferth, W. Hein, B. Spreer, H. Wiedmann, A. F. Potengowski), flétny z Egypta (M. Sciascia), keltoiberské keramické trouby na území Španělska (R. Jimenez), antické plátkové auloi (Ch. Terzēs, O. Sutkowska), římská vojenská trouba z hrobu důstojníka (D. Castaldo), galořímská tuba z Belgie (P. Herbin, Ch. Vendries), dále vrcholně středověké varhany z Británie (L.-A. Taylor) či Izraele (D. Catalunya), ale také předkolumbijské trouby Májů pravděpodobně vytvářené z tykví (M. Howell). Příspěvky k idiofonům zahrnovaly znějící skalní útvary z Norska (G. Kolltveit), známý litofon z Talang Anau ze Sumatry (Ch. Louven), kovové idofony na území střední Evropy (B. M. Pomberger), keramická chřestidla doby bronzové z Polska (I. Czajka, K.
