This work is an attempt to analyse the documents we have, obtained from Ukrainian archives. The research methodology is based on an analytical approach to specific cases, selected for certain periods or types of punishment. In particular, these are the files of Hryhir Krutyi, executed in 1937 in Kyiv, Mikuláš Végh and Chaskel Brückel, who crossed the border into the Soviet Union at the beginning of World War II and were sent to the Gulag, Kurt Rosenzweig, one of the Czechoslovak Jews transported to Nisko (Poland), who were forced to cross the border into the USSR at the command of the Nazis, and Volodymyr Pasichnyk, who was arrested after the end of the Second World War in Czechoslovakia by SMERSH and forcibly transported to the USSR. The analysis is based mainly on the texts of archival documents with attention to the reliability of the facts stated in them. The scientific novelty of the work lies in the approach to research – focusing on the content of documents and the evidence part, which rarely attracts the attention of historians. In this context, the files of Czechoslovaks, victims of Soviet repression, have not been studied yet. Conclusions. Based on the analysis, it was possible to trace not only the individual fates, an important part of the common and unknown history, but also the way of making decisions by the Soviet authorities, which sent innocent people to their deaths. \u0000Keywords: repressions in the USSR, Czechoslovaks in the Gulag, NKVD, correctional labour camps, death penalty, border crossing, criminal cases.
Scientific journal “Library Science. The latter corresponds to the specific functioning of the electronic library, the structural part of the information model “Ukrainian Bibliography in Persons”. The research methodology consists in using of comparative and historical-logical methods. This methodological approach allows us to disclose and analyse certain models of information about the anthropological component in the social relations provided by libraries. Scientific novelty of the work consists in the special construction of the information model “UBP”, which emphasises biographical data, consistently associated with other sources of information, in particular with biobibliographic, biographical, and thesaurus as well. Conclusions. The development of the general concept of building an open, integrated electronic bibliographic resource “UBP” provides that it is appropriate to develop on a corporate basis a series of leading libraries that need to ensure a permanent match of software and hardware with modern standards, a unified and simple user interface and remote access support. It also helps develop criteria for the selection of documents, unified description, and the cataloging of electronic documents, correlation of the description with the original; information integrity and guaranties of its permanent and continuous delivery to consumers, constant content analysis of the online reference sources, scientific libraries of Ukraine and the Ukrainian diaspora websites as well, identify and digitise retrospective sources of Ukrainian bibliography. \u0000Keywords: information models, information society, bibliography, biobibliography, Ukrainian bibliography in persons. \u0000
Scientific journal “Library Science. The current situation of the Ukrainian library business has worsened significantly as a result of the Russian military aggression, which caused huge human, economic, and cultural losses to Ukraine. The main goal is to analyse the search and use of current possibilities of library fundraising during military operations on the territory of Ukraine. The methodology of writing the article lies in the use of general scientific methods of research: analysis, synthesis, deduction, and induction. In addition, with the help of the axiological method, the change of paradigms in the perception of modern libraries has been traced. Scientific novelty is in determination and selection of ways to implement the little-studied issues of the peculiarities of fundraising work in library affairs during hostilities and martial law. The results of the article will be useful for determining the main directions of work for the future reconstruction of Ukraine's infrastructure. In particular, the problems of the functioning of libraries in wartime conditions are considered in detail, and an analysis of the debatable issues that have been discussed at the round tables is given. Special attention is paid to the study of the activities of the "Library Country" charity fund and other relevant projects in which foreign partners have taken part. Conclusions. The effectiveness of franchising tools for the operation of libraries, providing assistance to librarians and collections affected by the full-scale aggression of Russia has been established. In particular, this was done on the example of the active advisory, legal, and material assistance of the “Library Country” Charitable Foundation. The analysis of the work of this organisation demonstrated the effective support of the library industry against the background of enemy aggression, in particular the possible prospects for its further development. It is obvious that cooperation with foreign organisations will grow in the future, which make it possible to purchase additional equipment for libraries that, as a result of military operations, have changed their traditional role and become powerful centres of communication, social support, and support for IDPs. \u0000Keywords: library fundraising, Russian-Ukrainian war, libraries, charity.
Scientific journal “Library Science. The research methodology uses the content analysis method. By this method, the content of the websites of "A" category scientific journals in social communications from the List of scientific professional editions of Ukraine as of October 1, 2022, has been analysed. The research also involves the use of methods of generalisation and grouping to determine the criteria for assessing the completeness of the information presentation of the editorial policy regarding publication ethics and prevention of unethical practices. The information content of the websites of scientific journals indicates thematic proximity but not the identity of the way of declaring the editorial policy regarding publication ethics and academic integrity. Emphasis on specific aspects of the editorial policy is a manifestation of the formation of the individual vision of the journal's editorial board of the concept of a quality scientific publication in line with generally accepted international standards. The novelty of the obtained results is in the definition of information blocks that serve as criteria for evaluating the completeness of the information presentation of the editorial policy regarding publication ethics and the prevention of unethical practices. These include the principles of publishing ethics, the review policy, and the policy of combating unethical practices. Conclusions. The widespread distribution of norms of publication ethics and academic integrity on the websites of scientific publications creates a single information field of requirements for participants in the publication process. The identified criteria for the completeness of the information presentation of the editorial policy in the field of publishing ethics determine the guidelines for the development of the content of the websites of new journals, as well as the transformation and adaptation to the modern requirements of already existing editions. The availability of detailed information on the principles of publishing ethics, review policy, and counteraction to unethical practices policy will increase the level of awareness and literacy of all participants in the publishing process: authors, editors, reviewers, and consumers of scientific information. \u0000Keywords: scientific journal, editorial policy, publishing ethics, academic integrity, website.
Scientific journal “Library Science. The scientific novelty of the work consists in generalising the issues of systematisation of the forms and methods of functioning of Ukrainian electronic resources. In particular, it has been defined that the specifics of changes in electronic resources influences the methods used to systematisingly catalogue, optimise, and unify information through changes in the mechanisms of implementation of the specified processes. Conclusions. In the course of the research, it has been determined that electronic resources form the collection of information in libraries in the form of full-text databases, electronic journals, image collections, multimedia in the form of CDs, tapes, the Internet, web technologies, electronic discussions, electronic news, data archives, email, even online chat. E-resources may be found in differentiated forms such as e-books, digital libraries, online journals, e-learning tutors, and online tests. It is established that such types of electronic resources are distinguished as local, network, and electronic resources of combined distribution. It has been found that the method of bibliographic description of electronic resources is determined in accordance with the type of access, taking into account the category of the object of description and its structure. The research methodology is a combination of general scientific methods of analysis of theoretical material and statistical and comparative methods of analysis of specific empirical data, their systematisation and generalisation. The scientific novelty of the research is characterised by the use of information technologies, large volumes of data, and methods of statistical processing in the traditionally humanitarian field of research, which is characterised by a predominantly descriptive approach. Conclusions. On the example of the proposed study, an approach is presented that will allow to significantly expand the possibilities of both specific biographical investigations and studies of socio-historical, ethnological, and historical-psychological directions. Large-scale volumes and detailed structuring of the biographical archive (UNBA) according to its thematic, chronological, and gender distribution allows presenting the system itself as the core of the scientific activity of the virtual historical and biographical laboratory. Analogues of this approach do not exist in Ukraine today due to the uniqueness of the biographical archive (UNBA) itself, which combines the widest possible coverage of national biographical material with its detailed structuring. As a perspective of further research in the presented direction, we see the study of the dynamics of changing the archetypal features of the generalised image of Ukrainians in the temporal perspective. This includes answers to the question: how were the spheres of social activity of men and women correlated in different periods, the scaling of which is possible from centuries to one generation, i.e. 20-30 years? How statistically significant are these changes? The research methodology is based on the interdisciplinary integration of methodological tools of a number of approaches, taking into account the principles of objectivity, systematicity, and reliability. The system method has been used to analyse fake news as a complex-structured communication system; as a socio-communicative phenomenon within social networks – functional; as the newest form of rumor – comparative. In addition, the research methodology is based on general scientific methods of analysis, synthesis, generalisation, and systematisation. Scientific novelty consists in improving the scientific conceptualisation of the concept of fake news as a new means of manipulation, disinformation, and propaganda. Conclusions. Fake is false news, invented stories for the purpose of obtaining any benefit (financial, political, or other), the authenticity of which is provided by fabricated media formats: text message, advertisement, photo, video or audio fakes, use of bots, trolls who actively participate in discussions. Types of fakes include outright misinformation, manipulation, propaganda, rumors, memes, alternative facts, "viral" content, pranking, news satire, generators of news, and synthesised media content. Social networks play the biggest role in spreading fake information. The research methodology is based on an organic combination of the principles of scientific objectivity and systematicity, the application of the structural-functional approach, and the use of general scientific methods of scientific knowledge (cognitive, analysis and synthesis, statistical), content analysis of OPP in institutions of tertiary education. The scientific novelty of the presented work consists in identifying in the information system "Vstup.OSVITA.UA" a list of higher education institutions of which bachelor's and master's degrees in specialty 029 IBAS are trained, in the analysis of introduced educational and professional programs, in determining their traditional and innovative orientations. Conclusions. The training of specialists in specialty 029 "Information, library and archival affairs" is carried out in higher education institutions of Ukraine under various educational and professional programs, which attests to the modernisation and improvement of the training of specialists in the specified field and the orientation of tertiary education to European integration processes. It was found that within the specialty, 63 OPPs for bachelors and 37 for masters were introduced into the educational process, of which 25 were accredited at the bachelor's level and 14 – at the master's level. Part of the OPPs is waiting for accreditation, according to their schedule. Among the OPPs presented by higher education institutions, the most common are "Documentation and information activities" (15 – bachelor's and 12 – master's) and "Information, library and archival affairs" (17 and 12, respectively). The analysis of the rest of the programs (31 – bachelor's and 13 – master's) showed that in 12 bachelor's and 10 master's programs, key words in the names of the programs are the document science component, such as "document science support", "document science management" processes", "documentation support", "document implementation", and others. One master's program and two bachelor's programs are based on librarian training of specialists, as evidenced by their names. The specified programs have their roots in the training of specialists in the field of document studies and librarianship, which indicates their traditional character.
