Diet is one of the more easily studied, and therefore better understood, environmental factors in epigenetic change. Thus, an enhanced understanding of how epigenetic mechanisms modulate gene expression and how nutrition can optimize healthy epigenetic patterns can positively influence human health. The aim of the present project is to investigate whether a dietary intervention could ameliorate the clinical manifestations and modulate the epigenetic error in psoriatic disease. Materials and methods Nutrients could interact with the epigenome to \"\"protect or boost cognitive processes across the lifespan\"\". As we better understand the connections between diet and the epigenome, the opportunity arises for clinical applications in psoriasis. Results Recent studies have shown positive results for epigenetic-based therapies for psoriasis, which may be a field of increased focus in the coming years in search of better treatments. Deniplant tea can restore epigenetic alterations, resulting in amelioration or prevention of psoriasis and other systemic disease phenotypes, possibly also as a genetic modulator (CARD14 gene). The authors made EGO-Deniplant an online program for food control, modulating symptoms in psoriasis. Conclusion Epigenetic alterations have given insight into the understanding of the pathophysiology of psoriatic disease.\"","PeriodicalId":31755,"journal":{"name":"Annals Series on engineering sciences Academy of Romanian Scientists","volume":"73 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84334498","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The computational studies are carried out using the large-eddy simulation approach for subsonic incompressible flow of Reynolds number Re=1.3x106. The helicopter aerodynamics is dominated by the blade-vortex interaction (BVI) phenomenon which is responsible for noise and vibrations. During the helicopter flight, a tip-vortex filament is formed and its interaction with the advancing blade causes the blade-vortex interaction phenomenon. The study shows that the blade-vortex interaction causes oscillations of the aerodynamic coefficients. Due to the turbulence phenomenon, the oscillations exhibit a non-linear behaviour.","PeriodicalId":31755,"journal":{"name":"Annals Series on engineering sciences Academy of Romanian Scientists","volume":"69 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84411812","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Agardh, 1820) builds essential habitats for marine biodiversity and ecosystem optimal functioning along the Romanian Black Sea coast. G. barbata forms so-called brown algal forests especially in the southern part of the Romanian Black Sea shore, providing all categories of ecosystem services, at the same time being a source of potentially bioactive metabolites. Over the last decades, Cystoseira sensu lato have suffered a general decline due to anthropogenic pressure and the Romanian Black Sea coast is not an exception. G. barbata is the only remained representative of Cystoseira s. l. from the Romanian coast and currently the most important habitat - forming species, being a suggestive indicator of environmental degradation and loss of habitats. The study aims to present the last fourteen years ecological status assessment of the sensitive habitat Upper-infralittoral rock dominated by G. barbata. Sampling was conducted between 2009 – 2022 (summer seasons) and a total number of 144 samples were collected using the “quadrat method” (20 x 20 cm). Data were statistically analyzed, and the specific Ecological Index (EI) was applied to evaluate the ecological status. The results of this study showed that this vulnerable habitat reached good ecological status during 2009 - 20122, except for 2012 and 2014. Nevertheless, the current distribution of G. barbata habitat is sparse, and the species remains highly sensitive to increasing anthropogenic activities in coastal zones.\"","PeriodicalId":31755,"journal":{"name":"Annals Series on engineering sciences Academy of Romanian Scientists","volume":"4 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86519645","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, in the past decade different flow control techniques have been used such as active and passive flow control techniques. Winglet design has been explored in the past both experimentally and computationally. Experimental studies pose significant challenges due to the wing-span and costly equipment and facilities. Therefore, this study concerns the computational studies of winglet design using the large-eddy simulation approach. The results show that the winglet design reduces the flow separation and drag force, while the pressure and lift force increases.","PeriodicalId":31755,"journal":{"name":"Annals Series on engineering sciences Academy of Romanian Scientists","volume":"32 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"88543441","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Whether they were prepared for this purpose or not, it seems that the pandemic caused by the novel coronavirus has amplified the digitization process. In this context, the purpose of our study is to identify whether digital transformations have impacted sustainability and the transition to a green economy. Our sample consists of the entities listed at the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BSE) that published their annual reports in the period 2019-2021. Thus, with the help of the NVivo program, we extracted the keywords found in the European Green Deal. Then, with the help of the RapidMiner program, we were able to analyze the annual reports published in the three years to identify, based on the selected keywords, the green initiatives undertaken by the entities from our sample. The results reflect the fact that, in pandemic times, annual reports present information more and more succinctly, and weaker financial results are embellished by focusing on the positive aspects undertaken, such as the efforts started in the sphere of sustainable development.","PeriodicalId":31755,"journal":{"name":"Annals Series on engineering sciences Academy of Romanian Scientists","volume":"12 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81257792","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This disease is associated with multiple extraintestinal manifestations and patients frequently present persistent diarrhea, abdominal pain and weight loss. It affects people of all ages, but its onset generally occurs at a young age. Several triggers have been implicated in the etiopathology of Crohn's disease, including a dysregulated immune system, an altered intestinal microbiome, genetic susceptibility and environmental factors, but the main cause of the disease still remains an enigma. Due to its debut at a young age, in most cases, a long-term and early established treatment is undoubtedly required to prevent its progression with multiple intestinal and extraintestinal complications. Nowadays, novel biologic therapies or small-molecule drugs may deeply change the innate history of this pathology and could also decrease the rate of complications and the need for surgery. In order to establish the proper diagnosis, endoscopy with the histological evaluation of biopsy specimens represents the most reliable method, even if less invasive biomarkers are being developed. Crohn's disease is a comprehensive disease and the treatment should be adapted to each patient’s underlying pathogenetic mechanism.","PeriodicalId":31755,"journal":{"name":"Annals Series on engineering sciences Academy of Romanian Scientists","volume":"19 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79345778","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is difficult to reach a proper diagnosis before surgery, with the histopathological examination of the resected specimen being the method of choice. A supplementary immunohistochemistry examination of the sample is needed. In order to initiate targeted treatment, molecular testing is mandatory. Case presentation: A 47-year-old female, smoker (15 packs-year), without pathological personal history, presented for fatigue and moderate bilateral leg edema for about 3 months. The blood tests showed severe microcytic, hypochromic anemia and chronic disseminated intravascular coagulation. Computed tomography (CT) scan revealed a tumor in the right basal pleura with secondary pleural effusion, multiple lymphadenopathies, disseminated in the mediastinum, abdominal and pelvic cavity. Two other tumors were noticed, one in the right breast (7 mm) and the other in the vesicouterine pouch (7/10 mm). Prior to lung biopsy, a transthoracic and then transesophageal echocardiography were performed, highlighting the presence of a band on the aortic valve, suggesting marantic endocarditis. Tumor markers were also elevated. In evolution, the patient became bradypsychic, with head CT showing a brain metastasis in the left high-parietal region. Immunohistochemistry examination of the biopsy sample suggested a adenosquamous lung carcinoma. Conclusion: We reported the diagnostic path of a rare subtype of lung cancer in a young female without known comorbidities, with an atypical presentation - multiple extrapulmonary non-metastatic manifestations: metabolic etiology - weight loss, fatigue; vascular and hematological etiology – marantic endocarditis (a very rare complication), severe microcytic, hypochromic anemia and chronic disseminated intravascular coagulation; neurological etiology – peripheral sensorimotor neuropathy of the right arm. A tissue biopsy was performed from the most accessible region – 1/3 inferior right thorax, posterior axillary line. The particularity of the adenosquamous lung carcinoma in this case lies in multiple metastases in less common sites (breast, vesicouterine pouch and probably kidney).","PeriodicalId":31755,"journal":{"name":"Annals Series on engineering sciences Academy of Romanian Scientists","volume":"24 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80757035","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
