The major goal of the study is to use cluster analysis to discover the ideal cutting parameter combination to get the lowest surface roughness achievable. This paper examines cutting parameters and surface roughness for aluminum alloy end milling operations, finds literature gaps, and provides the experimental setup and research methodology. According to the findings, the data points are split into three categories depending on the characteristics of each individual data point. The findings are evaluated considering contemporary literature, and recommendations for further research are provided. As a consequence of this research, it is now clear how to optimize the cutting settings for end milling aluminum alloy 7136, potentially improving the usability and aesthetics of machined components.","PeriodicalId":31755,"journal":{"name":"Annals Series on engineering sciences Academy of Romanian Scientists","volume":"20 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75256225","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We report the case of a 76-years-old female who presented for symptoms of severe hyponatremia like digestive intolerance, nausea, vomiting, generalized muscle weakness and vertigo, with a serum sodium level of 110 mEq/L. The patient was known with multiple cardiovascular and malignant comorbidities, being diagnosed with a right breast neoplasm with right radical mastectomy and axillary lymphadenectomy. Subsequently, multiple adenopathies were detected, which is why the patient followed several series of chemotherapy with trastuzumab and capecitabinum. These drugs can cause side effects, such as xerophthalmia, xerostomia, which are also frequently encountered in autoimmune pathologies. Hyponatremia is one of the most frequent side effects of capecitabinum. All these side reactions were investigated later, thus following the immunological tests, the diagnosis of Sjogren's syndrome was established. After ruling out other causes, it was established that hyponatremia appeared secondary to the recent administration of capecitabinum or within a syndrome of inappropriate antidiuretic hormone secretion (SIADH), which can be the result of a Sjogren's syndrome.","PeriodicalId":31755,"journal":{"name":"Annals Series on engineering sciences Academy of Romanian Scientists","volume":"4 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79502928","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Sampling was carried out during two expeditions (October 2020, September 2021), resulting a number of 133 samples. A total of 21 taxa were identified, the maximum being recorded in 2020, with nine taxa among copepods. Variations were observed between the two cruises, the mesozooplankton community being best represented in October 2020, when the highest density and biomass values were observed. The fodder component of the mesozooplankton community was dominant both in 2020 and 2021, Noctiluca scintillans (the nonfodder component) being less represented, with lower density and biomass values. From the fodder component, Copepoda represented the bulk of the community, with the highest values in 2020, followed by Cladocera with a maximum development in 2021. Branchiostoma lanceolatum larvae were identified in 3 stations in 2020 and in one station in 2021 at different sampling depths.\"","PeriodicalId":31755,"journal":{"name":"Annals Series on engineering sciences Academy of Romanian Scientists","volume":"60 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79999703","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Intracerebral hemorrhages represent the second most frequent, but the most severe form of stroke, with 1 in 3 patients passing away shortly after its debut. Considering these data, it is necessary to identify efficient ways to evacuate intracerebral hematomas and improve their morbidity and mortality, with brain imaging being truly helpful to neurosurgeons. Objectives. To identify the role of imaging for the evacuation of spontaneous intracerebral hematomas. Methods. We performed an extensive literature review, examining the latest published studies and therapeutic protocols. We performed a comprehensive evaluation of the latest imaging and surgical techniques for the diagnosis and treatment of intracerebral hemorrhages. Results. These studies suggest that surgical intervention and evacuation of the hematoma, based on imaging and clinic, can have an immediate lifesaving effect on certain groups of patients, but it does not significantly influence the long-term prognosis and death rate. Conclusions. Modern imaging techniques help neurosurgeons preoperatively, as they can more accurately estimate the benefits of the surgical intervention, intraoperatively through neuronavigation, and postoperatively, modulating therapeutic management by identifying specific imagistic signs. Surgical interventions, both invasive and especially minimally invasive, have a proven positive effect on the evolution of patients, reducing acute mortality, but with uncertain results regarding improving long-term prognosis.","PeriodicalId":31755,"journal":{"name":"Annals Series on engineering sciences Academy of Romanian Scientists","volume":"57 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80296823","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The most important carotenoids that have beneficial effects on human health are beta-carotene, lutein, astaxanthin, lycopene and zeaxanthin. The main advantage of carotenoids lies in their antioxidant potential, the role of protecting the body's cells from damage by unstable oxygen molecules. The present paper presents the comparative content of carotenoid-type bioactive compounds present in the hydroalcoholic extracts obtained from different plant organs (roots, leaves and flowers) of the species Taraxacum officinale (L.), dandelion. The plant product was collected from the spontaneous flora, the southern area of Dobrogea, Constanța county and from the eastern area of Transylvania, Harghita county, in May 2022. The obtained hydroalcoholic extracts of 10% concentration in 50% ethanol and respectively 70% ethanol, using the cold maceration method, in the dark, for 14 days, were analysed by UV-Vis spectrophotometry to determine the total content of carotenoids, beta-carotene and lutein. Total carotenoids content was higher in ethanolic extracts of roots and flowers of plants collected from the southern area of Dobrogea, and for the leaves the content of total carotenoids was higher in the ethanolic extracts of the plants collected from the eastern area of Transylvania. The differential distribution observed in terms of the carotenoids content present in the various plant organs of the species Taraxacum officinale (L.), may be due to the influence of the climate and the type of soil characteristic of the two studied areas. Enriching the database regarding the concentration of analysed carotenoid-type bioactive principles can contribute to the development and testing of hypotheses about the therapeutic potential of this valuable component of the Romanian spontaneous flora.\"","PeriodicalId":31755,"journal":{"name":"Annals Series on engineering sciences Academy of Romanian Scientists","volume":"6 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84868042","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
