The Bengkalis was biggest place of fishery in South East Asia before colonialism. Bengkalis was popular with eggs and terubuk fishes. Video game translation (VGT) refutes this hypothesis since retranslations in VGT, occuring on game remakes and remasters, are target oriented. We argue that retranslations in VGT context are better to be termed prosthetic translation, a retranslation involving game mechanics adjustments at intertextual level. To prove that prosthetic translation is of existence, we applied theories of retranslation, multiplicity, commodified nostalgia, and intertextual continuity on seven titles of Square Enix’s award winning Final Fantasy series. The original Japanese versions, North American versions, their first translations, and retranslations were analyzed to prove the presence of prosthetic translation. The findings show that retranslations on the series are oriented to target gaming system and the aesthetics of mechanics and narrative intertextuality and thus refuting Retranslation Hypothesis. Based on the findings, we argue that retranslation of video game remakes and remasters focuses on repairing extremities or intertextual losses, occuring due to game narrative and mechanical aesthetics. These intertextual losses are repaired by attaching mechanical prostheses like dialogue box extension or modification, font type and size alteration, and other mechanical modification to ensure present time recontextualization of the remade and remastered games. Penerjemahan video game menyanggah pernyataan ini karena penerjemahan ulang dalam konteks video game yang muncul pada remake dan remaster cenderung lebih berorientasi pada target penggunanya. Tulisan ini menyarankan bahwa penerjemahan ulang dalam penerjemahan video game sebaiknya disebut dengan penerjemahan prostetik, penerjemahan ulang yang mengikutsertakan penyesuaian mekanisme game-nya pada tataran intertekstual. Untuk membuktikan keberadaan penerjemahan prostetik, teori penerjemahan ulang, multiplicity yang membahas mengenai remake dan remaster, komodifikasi nostalgia, dan kontinuitas intertekstual diaplikasikan pada tujuh judul serial Final Fantasy untuk mengungkapkan keberadaan penerjemahan prostetik. Ketujuh judul tersebut terdiri dari versi asli Jepangnya, versi terjemahan bahasa Inggrisnya, versi terjemahan pertama dan terjemahan ulangnya. This article employed descriptive qualitative method with content analysis and FGD (Focus Group Discussion). Content analysis was used to collect the data in terms of respond types. In addition, FGD used to determine the translation techniques. The researcher applied purposive sampling to determine the source of data. Furthermore, the data were validated using source triangulation and methodological triangulation. The researcher limited the data into four main characters in the novel. The research finding shows that there are 18 types of response. They are assertive, directive, commissive, and expressive. In addition, there are 14 translation techniques used. The translation techniques used are established equivalent, variation, explicitation, modulation, pure borrowing, implicitation, reduction, linguistic amplification, transposition, generalization, addition, literal, discursive creation, and paraphrase.Keywords: expressive speech act, responses, translation techniquesTEKNIK PENERJEMAHAN PADA KALIMAT YANG MENGAKOMODASI RESPON TERHADAP TINDAK TUTUR EKSPRESIF MENGKRITIK DAN MEMINTA MAAFAbstrakTujuan dari artikel ini adalah untuk meneliti kalimat yang mengakomodasi jenis – jenis respon terhadap tindak tutur mengkritik dan meminta maaf pada novel Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, dan teknik penerjemahan yang digunakan. Penelitian ini termasuk dalam penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan menggunakan teknik simak dan catat dan diskusi kelompok terpusat (FGD). Teknik simak dan catat digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data yang berupa kalimat yang mengakomodasi jenis – jenis respon. Selanjutnya, diskusi kelompok terpusat digunakan untuk menentukan teknik penerjemahan apa saja yang digunakan. Peneliti menentukan sumber data penelitian menggunakan teknik cuplik. Kemudian, data penelitian divalidasi menggunakan triangulasi sumber dan triangulasi metode. Peneliti membatasi data penelitian yang berasal dari empat tokoh utama dalam novel. Temuan penelitian ini antara lain, terdapat 18 jenis respon yaitu: asertif, direktif, komisif, dan ekspresif. Sedangkan, dalam hal teknik penerjemahan terdapat 14 teknik. Ecranisation is a study in the form of transfer of vehicles or transformation from a work of art into film. The transformation in this study is different from the form of presentation. This research used qualitative using the method of content analysis. The analysis of the research was carried out in an ecranisation approach. Data were collected through library studies and sources of data from Dilan 1990 novels and films. This signs was examined its meaning by the employment of semiotic theories. Technique of data collection used interview and documentation. Data validity was triangulation of data source. Data from one source compared with other sources to test the validity of a data. The result of this research found that the meaning behind wayang kulit wanda of Panakawan figures. Those meaning are the reflection of wong cilik characteristic. Semar shows that wong cilik has religious character. Gareng describes that wong cilik has an honest and careful character. Petruk shows the character of wong cilik is hardworking. Wanda yang dikaji pada penelitian ini adalah wanda wayang kulit model Surakarta. Metode penelitian ini adalah deskripti kualitatif. Objek penelitian ini adalah tanda pada wanda wayang kulit tokoh Panakawan. Tanda pada wanda tersebut dikaji maknanya menggunakan teori semiotik. Teknik pengumpulan data adalah teknik wawancara dan dokumentasi. Validasi data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah triangulasi sumber data. Data dari sumber satu dibandingkan dengan sumber yang lain untuk menguji validitas sebuah data. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah makna dibalik wanda wayang kulit tokoh Panakawan. Makna dari wanda tersebut merupakan cerminan dari karakteristik wong cilik. Semar menunjukkan bahwa wong cilik memiliki karakter religius. Gareng menggambarkan bahwa wong cilik memiliki karakter jujur dan berhati-hati. Petruk menunjukkan karakter wong cilik yang pekerja keras. This study aims to identify the power and orientation of positive politeness strategies used by the children at the age of elementary school as the character of Indonesian. This study applies qualitative research with single-case study strategy. The data source consists of all elementary school teachers and students in Surakarta and Yogyakarta. The data were collected by using active observation and focus group discussion. The data are in the forms of teaching materials. The data were analyzed using heuristic model proposed by Grice & Leech by applying the principles of reconciliation, cultural and social harmony. The result shows that the elementary school teachers and students having the Javanese cultural background indicated by (a) building the nature of psychological as the core of positive politeness and nation character by improving the empathy feeling, looking for the agreement, giving respect, appreciating the achievement, and giving the profit to another; (b) prioritizing the duty instead of the rights; (c) creating the wise of directive act strategyby positioning the listener ; (d) respecting others to show the suavity and politeness. Therefore, the Javanese society in line with directive politeness action always put the environment society to keep its social-societal relationship. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi kekuatan dan orientasi strategi kesantunan positif anak-anak di usia sekolah dasar sebagai karakter bangsa Indonesia. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan jenis studi kasus tunggal. Sumber data terdiri dari semua guru sekolah dasar dan anak-anak usia SD di Surakarta dan Yogyakarta. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan observasi aktif dan diskusi kelompok fokus. Data tersebut berupa bahan ajar. Data dianalisis menggunakan model heuristik yang diajukan oleh Grice & Leech dengan menerapkan prinsip rekonsiliasi, budaya dan keharmonisan sosial. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa guru sekolah dasar dan anak-anak usia SD yang memiliki latar belakang budaya Jawa ditunjukkan dengan (a) membangun sifat psikologis sebagai inti dari kesantunan positif dan karakter bangsa dengan meningkatkan perasaan empati, mencari kesepakatan, memberikan rasa hormat, menghargai pencapaian, dan memberikan keuntungan kepada yang lain; (b) memprioritaskan tugas dan bukan hak; (c) menciptakan strategi tindakan yang efektif dengan memposisikan pendengar; (D) menghormati orang lain untuk menunjukkan kesantunan. This study is a qualitative research that applies feminist literary approach which uses liberal feminist theory for the data analysis. This study shows that American Indian women enjoyed gender equality in traditional American Indian culture that had complementary gender relation. It is a modified form of literary works from poetry text into comic. Converting the written language into a visual language can provide different understanding and reading experience because the visual language uses its own distinct and interesting \"language system\" which appealing to study. For example, the use of comic element such as panel that communicate ideas or stories. The panel is a space-time element which described the dimension of space and time as the actual concept that we know of. The panel also creates the illusion of invisible elements such as sounds. This paper examines 1) the use of visual language, especially panel representation on time and space on Hujan Bulan Juni short comic; 2) the aesthetic and atmosphere created by comic panels. This paper use qualitative descriptive approach by conducting literature study with the help of data analyses table. Findings indicate the overall use of panels on comic Hujan Bulan Juni depicted monotonously so that the space and time that the reader perceived of the story happened in one place and on the same time. In addition, the panels used in the comic produce a calm and gentle atmosphere.
