In order to solve the difficulty,an active disturbance rejection nonlinear control strategy is proposed,and a ship main engine ADRC controller is designed. The simulation results of ship main engine (ME) speed tracking and keeping show that the controller has good adaptabilities on the system nonlinearity and strong robustness to parameter perturbations of the ship and environmental disturbances. And the speed switching is fast and smooth with small throttle turning volume, thus achieved high-accurate ship ME speed control.","PeriodicalId":315420,"journal":{"name":"2010 8th World Congress on Intelligent Control and Automation","volume":"90 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-07-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115020788","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Firstly, PCA algorithm was performed on training samples of each pattern class to calculate the optimal projection transformation matrices. A point that should be mentioned was that we used median vector rather than mean vector in total scatter matrix. The feature vectors of testing sample could be obtained by projecting it on the optimal projection transformation matrices. After that, reconstruction images phase was conducted to get the reconstruction image. Using the same procedure, the reconstruction image of testing image corresponding to each pattern class could be obtained. Finally, the error between reconstruction images and testing sample were calculated, respectively. The testing sample was belonging to the pattern class whose corresponding error was minimal. Experiments on Yale and ORL show that this approach works much better than traditional PCA.","PeriodicalId":315420,"journal":{"name":"2010 8th World Congress on Intelligent Control and Automation","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-07-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115524297","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The data is preprocessed by wavelet analysis to denoise and remove outliers. Fuzzy C-means clustering (FCM) is then used to identify the relation between efficiency of ironmaking and smelting intensity by using the processed data. Simulation based on data collected from No.7 blast furnace of Handan Steel show that the mean value of historical data (0.45) is not the stable thermal state of blast furnace. The system is more stable and has higher smelting intensity when silicon content is around 0.41, which shows that “low silica smelting practice” attempt in the steel industry can lower the energy consumption while keeping the smelting intensity and smooth production. It is proved that appropriate level of silicon content will lead to safe, smooth production with lower energy consumption and higher production.","PeriodicalId":315420,"journal":{"name":"2010 8th World Congress on Intelligent Control and Automation","volume":"155 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-07-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115583545","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The strong change of the multi-model(including time constant, gain, even the orders etc.) of the controlled member occurs as the operating conditions are changed with extensiveness. A design method of μ-synthesis robust PID control system is proposed, the selections of nominal plant and weighting functions of the multi-model robust control system are discussed in the high, medium and low frequency change of the perturbed object. The μ -synthesis robust PI controllers are solved. Results of the design look as if they were normal PI controllers, but their control quality and robustness are better than the latter, and their structures are simple, definite, useful etc. The realization of the controllers doesn't involve extra cost to the control equipment in existence. The results show that the proposed method is valid.","PeriodicalId":315420,"journal":{"name":"2010 8th World Congress on Intelligent Control and Automation","volume":"126 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-07-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116089570","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To meet the system demand, the Independent System Operator (ISO) uses lump sum “uplift payments” to make generators follow its schedule. However, these uplift payments are opaque and difficult to hedge in terms of price signals. In addition, there are incentives for suppliers to bid other than their true costs. Untruthful bidding is undesirable, since in this case minimizing the total bid cost does not imply minimizing the total production cost, or maximizing the social welfare. As a result, the market may not be efficient. In this paper, system-wide redundant constraints on weighted generation levels are introduced to the day-ahead energy market to achieve equilibrium. With multipliers relaxing system demand constraints and redundant constraints serving as multipart prices, equilibrium can be achieved under the general condition that the optimal primal solution is among subproblem solutions for all units. Although incentive compatibility may not be achievable, the novel “local incentive compatibility” concept is introduced and quantified as the second best alternative to incentive compatibility.","PeriodicalId":315420,"journal":{"name":"2010 8th World Congress on Intelligent Control and Automation","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-07-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122511410","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
