By “rapid-scanning interferometer” is meant one which uses no chopper or lock-in amplifier in the data-acquisition system. Instead, the moving mirror is scanned at a constant velocity, making the infrared intensity at the detector be modulated in the audio frequency range. The signal from the detector is amplified by a broadband amplifier and digitized for later processing by a computer. This technique has advantages over the “step and integrate” procedure insofar as simplicity of interferometer drive, noise reduction, and suppression of long-term drifts in source or detector are concerned.","PeriodicalId":314918,"journal":{"name":"1983 Eighth International Conference on Infrared and Millimeter Waves","volume":"137 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1983-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131237528","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
