This research was aimed at finding out the factors influencing the motivation of 4.73% of the voters with disabilities who participated in the 2017’s Election in Bireuen, and the factors contributing to the low participation of 95.27% of people with disabilities registered to vote in the 2017’s Election in Bireuen District; and this also aimed at finding out the efforts which can be made to increase the participation of people with disabilities in the next Elections in Bireuen District. To achieve these objectives, the Authors used Political Participation Theory and Voter Behavior Theory. This research utilized a qualitative descriptive method. The results of this research showed the factors affecting the motivation of people with disability who participated in the 2017's Regional Election in Bireuen District include the awareness of the right to vote; family support; politics education conducted by the Organizers of the Elections in Bireuen District; and figures who developed into political contestants. Some solutions for the participation of disabled people increased in subsequent elections, namely: maximizing the accessibility of the Elections to disability and the adjustment of socialization programs based on the type of disability exist in Bireuen Regency. KEY WORD: Elections; Disabilities; Participation. RESUME: “Analisis Partisipasi Penyandang Disabilitas pada PEMILUKADA 2017 di Kabupaten Bireuen, Aceh, Indonesia”. P enyandang disabilitas belum secara maksimal memanfaatkan peluang untuk ikut serta dalam mensukseskan PEMILU (Pemilihan Umum) . Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor yang mempengaruhi motivasi 4 . 73% penyandang disabilitas yang berpartisipasi, dan faktor yang mempengaruhi rendahnya partisipasi  yaitu sebesar 95 . 27% penyandang disabilitas, serta solusi yang perlu ditempuh agar partisipasi penyandang disabilitas dapat meningkat pada PEMILUKADA (Pemilihan Umum Kepala Daerah) selanjutnya di Kabupaten Bireuen. Untuk menganalisis permasalahan dalam penelitian ini, P enulis menggunakan T eori P artisipasi P olitik dan T eori P erilaku P emilih. P endekatan penelitian yang gunakan adalah metode kualitatif deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat beberapa faktor yang mempengaruhi motivasi penyandang disabilitas berpartisipasi dalam PEMILUKADA di Kabupaten Bireuen tahun 2017 , antara lain: kesadaran penyandang disabilitas terhadap hak memilih ; dukungan keluarga ; sosialisasi pendidikan politik yang dilakukan oleh P enyelenggara ; dan figur peserta calon kepala daerah yang maju menjadi peserta PEMILUKADA. Tingkat kemampuan menulis teks argumentasi pada siswa belum menunjukkan hasil yang memuaskan. Selain itu, penguasaan kosakata siswa yang masih kurang disebabkan kurangnya kemampuan siswa dalam mengartikan kata-kata. P enelitian ini bersifat korelasional dengan pendekatan kuantitatif . Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan Acak Sederhana , dengan jumlah sampel yang digunakan 32 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, dokumentasi , dan tes. Uji instrumen dilakukan dengan uji validitas dan uji reliabilitas. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif dan statistik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa h ubungan positif antara K emampuan B erpikir K ritis dengan K emampuan M enulis T eks A rgumentasi pada siswa kelas VIII - C SMP (Sekolah Menengah Pertama) Negeri 9 Purwokerto di Jawa Tengah, Indonesia adalah positif dan signifikan. Hubungan yang positif dan signifikan juga nampak antara P enguasaan K osakata (X2) dengan K emampuan M enulis T eks Argumentasi (Y). Untuk mengetahui signifikansi korelasi antara K emampuan B erpikir K ritis (X1) dan P enguasaan K osakata (X2) dengan K emampuan B erpikir Kritis (Y), berdasarkan analisis Korelasi Product Moment adalah sebesar 0.729, sehingga jelas hubungannya bersifat positif dan signifikan. ABSTRACT: “The Relationship between Critical Thinking Ability and Vocabulary Mastery towards the Ability to Write the Arguments”. Critical thinking and vocabulary mastery are factors that can affect the ability to write the argumentation texts. The level of ability to write argumentation text of students have not shown satisfactory results. In addition, the students’ lack of vocabulary mastery is due to the lack of students' ability to interpret words. This is a correlational research with a quantitative approach.  The sampling technique was simple randomized, with a sample size of 32 students. Data collection techniques using observation, documentation, and tests. The instrument test was carried out by using the validity test and the reliability test. The data analysis used was descriptive and statistical analysis. The results showed that there is a positive and significance relationship between Critical Thinking Ability and the Ability to Write Argumentation Text in class VIII-C Public SMP (Junior High School) 9 Purwokerto in Central Java, Indonesia. A positive and significant relationship seems also between Vocabulary Mastery (X2) and the Ability to Write Argumentation Text (Y). To find out the significance of the correlation between Critical Thinking Ability (X1) and Vocabulary Mastery (X2) with Critical Thinking Ability (Y), based on the Product Moment Correlation analysis of 0.729, so that the relationship is positive and significant. Artikel ini – dengan mengguna-pakai pendekatan kualitatif, kaedah sejarah, dan sorotan literatur, termasuk temubual didalamnya – membicarakan perkembangan dan perubahan Perguruan Melayu Wanita pra-merdeka di Negara Brunei Darussalam dalam tempoh 1914 hingga 1983. Institusi perguruan bermula dengan perguruan tidak terlatih dengan pendidikan tidak formal. Kemunculan Residen British telah mempengaruhi institusi perguruan dengan penubuhan Sekolah Melayu pada tahun 1914. Sejak itu perguruan Melayu mula mengalami perubahan apabila bilangan pelajar wanita dan sekolah semakin bertambah, yang menyebabkan tenaga guru amat diperlukan. Hanya setelah tahun 1950-an, barulah institusi perguruan Melayu mula berkembang seiring dengan penubuhan Maktab Perguruan Melayu Brunei dan juga pemikiran ibu bapa yang lebih terbuka kepada anak-anak perempuan untuk bersekolah dan menceburi dalam bidang perguruan. Selain daripada itu, dorongan kerajaan dalam mempergiatkan peluang pekerjaan menjadi penyebab kepada penyertaan wanita dalam bidang perguruan bagi menabur bakti kepada bangsa dan negara. Perubahan ini drastik terus berlaku sehingga tahun 1983, apabila kaum wanita mendominasi bidang perguruan Brunei berbanding kaum lelaki.  KATA KUNCI: Institusi Perguruan Melayu; Wanita Brunei; Perubahan Sosial dan Politik. ABSTRACT: “The Malay Teachers Institution for Brunei Women in the Pre-Independence: Review on Developments and Changes”. The teaching profession plays an important role in the development of a country. This article – using a qualitative approach, historical method, and literature review, including interviews in it – talks about development and change the Malaya Teachers Institution in the pre-independence for Women in Brunei Darussalam in 1914 to 1983. The period begins with education institutions are not trained with informal education. The emergence of the British Resident has affected education institutions with the establishment of the Malay School in 1914. Since then the Malays Teacher Institution began to change when the number of female students and schools are growing, which causes much-needed the teachers. Only after 1950s, then the Malay education institutions began to grow in tandem with the establishment of the Brunei Malay Teachers College and also thought parents were more open to girls to go to school and get into the teaching profession. Apart from that, the government's encouragement in intensifying employment opportunities is the reason for the participation of women in the field of teaching to spread devotion to the nation and country. This drastic change continued until 1983, when women dominated the field of Brunei education over men. KEY WORD: Malay Teachers Institution ; Brunei Women; Social and Political Changes. Di samping itu, lingkungan sosial pun turut andil dalam membentuk sikap dan perilaku politik seseorang. Namun demikian, seiring dengan perkembangan interaksi dan komunikasi antar masyarakat internasional yang semakin kuat dan intensif telah mengakibatkan pergeseran-pergeseran pemikiran. Pertanyaan yang muncul kemudian adalah apakah agama serta nilai dan norma sosial telah tersisihkan oleh pandangan dan pemikiran rasional dalam berpolitik pada masyarakat Indonesia . Hal inilah yang menjadi daya tarik untuk dikaji lebih jauh. Melalui penelitian yang menerapkan desain pendekatan penelitian kuantitatif dengan memfokuskan objek penelitian di lingkungan UPI ( Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia ) di Bandung, Jawa Barat , terungkap bahwa perilaku memilih pada kalangan generasi muda, khususnya mahasiswa UPI di Bandung , sedikit - banyak mendapat pengaruh dari keyakinan akan agama yang dianutnya. Namun demikian, tampaknya faktor keyakinan beragama ini bukan merupakan faktor dominan. Demikian pula halnya dengan pengaruh lingkungan sosial, baik dari ulama, orang tua, maupun teman sepergaulan , menunjukan kecilnya penanaman sikap tertentu pada diri responden dalam memilih. Akhirnya, banyak faktor yang mempengaruhi perilaku dan pilihan politik mahasiswa dalam PEMILU di Indonesia, yang perlu dikaji dalam penelitian selanjutnya. ABSTRACT : “ Sociological Study on Religion a nd Social Environment Contribution s towards the Political Behaviour of Young Generation ”. Regarding to the General E lection, the role of religion for Indonesian people, especially Islam, apparently still have strong influence to the election behavior of society, preeminence in determining the political party that they would support. And so the social environment will also contribute in forming the both attitudes and political behavior of someone. Along with the advent of the interaction and communication between international society getting more stronger and intensive has led to shift in thinking. The question to ask is , then , whether the religion value and social norm have out of the way by the view and rational thinking in Indonesians to participate in politic . This matter become the attraction to examined further. Through the research which is applied the quantitative research approach design and the object be focused in the UPI ( Indonesia University of Education) in Bandung, West Java , revealed that voting behavior of young generation, especially students of UPI, more and less, influenced by the confidence of the religion which is treated. Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan analisis percakapan dalam wacana. Data berasal dari diskusi pembelajaran di kelas yang dilakukan oleh para mahasiswa Angkatan 2016, Semester 6, pada Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Indonesia FBS UNM (Fakultas Bahasa dan Sastra, Universitas Negeri Makassar) di Sulawesi Selatan, Indonesia, yang dikumpulkan pada bulan Februari hingga Maret 2017. Pengambilan data dengan teknik observasi partisipan, wawancara, dan perekaman. Hasil kajian menunjukan bahwa bentuk-bentuk percakapan mahasiswa pada saat belajar di kelas berupa pengambilan giliran berbicara antara pemateri dan peserta diskusi, yang didominasi oleh mahasiswa dari etnis Bugis dan Makassar, baik dalam hal Pasangan Berdekatan, Preferensi atau Pilihan Respons yang Diharapkan, maupun dalam Membuka dan Menutup Percakapan. Aspek percakapan tumpang-tindih tidak sering terjadi, karena adanya moderator dan dosen sebagai pemandu diskusi pada saat penyajian materi. ABSTRACT : “Conversational Analysis of Urban Students in Classroom Learning Processes: A Case Study of FBS UNM Students in Makassar, South Sulawesi, Indonesia”. This study aims to analyze the form of urban student conversation during the language learning process in the classroom. This research is descriptive qualitative with a conversation analysis approach in discourse. The data comes from discussions of classroom learning conducted by students of 2016, 6 th Semester, at the Study Program of Indonesian Language Education FBS UNM (Faculty of Language and Literature, State University of Makassar) in South Sulawesi, Indonesia, that was collected from February to March 2017. Data was collected using participant observation, interviews, and recording techniques. The results of the study show that the forms of student conversation at the time of class learning took place between speakers and discussion participants, which were dominated by students from Bugis and Makassar ethnic groups, both in the case of Adjacent Spouses, Preferences or Expected Response Options, or in Opening and Closing the Conversation. Overlapping aspects of conversation do not often occur, because there are moderator and lecturer as guides for discussion during material presentation. The form of language in non-communicative conversations is the use of inappropriate transitional words; the use of question words as conjunctions; and the use of redundant words in one group of words. It was investigated from critical point of view that whether Muslim minorities are really enjoying their rights under the umbrella of Indian democracy and secularism. The problem of exclusion created through different ways and the special role played by multiple factors were taken into cognizance. Kashmir case has been provided as special reference, where it has been seen how power was abused against the people of Kashmir. The case of socio-economic, political marginalization of Muslims in India was also highlighted. The dimensions of security, development, and education in Indian context have been elucidated seriously in this study. Debate on security dimension with inclusion of other welfare agendas and projects for dealing the issue of minority development has been seriously taken into consideration. Any democratic governance can survive once the welfare of all the citizens will be ensured equally. Extremism can be overcome by the methods of tolerance and accommodation. The extremism can also be defeated once multiculturalism methods will be used. Undoubtedly, extremism has been always a major threat against India’s glorious legacies. India can get more international recognition once the forces of extremism would be defeated by the secular forces of India on Indian soil. Perhaps, security and overall development of minorities could be ensured through the constitutional means vis-a-vis in real practice. Dikaji dari sudut pandang kritis apakah minoritas Muslim benar-benar menikmati hak-hak mereka di bawah payung demokrasi dan sekularisme India. Masalah eksklusi diciptakan melalui cara yang berbeda dan peran khusus yang dimainkan oleh banyak faktor dimasukkan ke dalam kesadaran. Kasus Kashmir telah disediakan sebagai referensi khusus, dimana telah terlihat bagaimana kekuasaan disalahgunakan terhadap rakyat Kashmir. The discussion will start with a short introduction to ANT, then focus on its contributions to news studies, and finally describe its implications for the methodology deployed in this research. By using the qualitative approaches and theoretical review, the findings show that the strength of ANT lies in the overall understanding of the social, as it is a method to study social sciences, rather than merely addressing specific issues in journalism studies. Despite several dominant paradigms in studying news, including political-economy approach, organisational and cultural studies, and their success in understanding news, the main criticism is on the ontology of understanding reality, where based on these paradigms, social actions are being aggregated rather than individually examined. Here, various actual actors that might contribute to the understanding of social actions would possibly be neglected. Besides that, another assumption is that reality is explained based on inherent social structure. Such ontological understanding leads to the act of categorising social actions based on certain structure, such as political, economic, and social structure. ANT also extended the status of object, where non-human actors are also considered in understanding a social phenomenon. With such strengths, I propose that ANT should be considered to be included as a supplement in studying news and to bridge weakness gaps facade by the dominant paradigms. Didalamnya akan dikaji dua isu utama, yakni Kedudukan dan Peranan Ilmu-ilmu Sosial, serta Kebenaran Ilmiah itu sendiri. Hasil kajian menunjukan bahwa Ilmu-ilmu Sosial merupakan disiplin ilmu yang mempelajari tentang berbagai macam masalah oleh masyarakat umum dengan berbagai macam pengertian, seperti  fakta, konsep, prinsip, dan prosedur yang berasal dari berbagai macam bidang ilmu pengetahuan dan keahlian dalam lapangan Ilmu-ilmu Sosial, misalnya Ekonomi, Geografi Sosial, Sosiologi, Antropologi, Psikologi Sosial, Sejarah, dan lain sebagainya. Tujuan daripada Ilmu-ilmu Sosial adalah untuk membantu perkembangan pengetahuan atau wawasan pemikiran dan juga kepribadian agar mendapatkan wawasan pemikiran sosial yang lebih komprehensif. Kebenaran ilmiah tidak bisa dilepaskan dari makna dan fungsi ilmu itu sendiri, yakni sejauhmana dapat digunakan dan dimanfaatkan oleh manusia. Disamping itu, proses untuk mendapatkannya haruslah melalui tahap-tahap metode ilmiah. Kriteria ilmiah dari suatu ilmu memang tidak dapat menjelaskan fakta dan realitas yang ada. Apalagi terhadap fakta yang berada dalam lingkup religi ataupun metafisika dan mistik serta non-ilmiah lainnya. Di sinilah perlunya pengembangan sikap dan kepribadian yang mampu meletakan manusia dalam dunianya. Akhirnya, kebenaran ilmiah itu meliputi: kebenaran metafisik, kebenaran etik, kebenaran logis, dan kebenaran empirik. Sedangkan teori utama tentang kebenaran itu meliputi: teori korespondensi, teori koherensi, dan teori pragmatisme. This article, using a qualitative approach, literature review, and literature study will examine the role of the Social Sciences in reaching scientific truth. In it, two main issues will be examined, namely the Position and Role of the Social Sciences, as well as the Scientific Truth itself. The results of the study show that Social Sciences are the study of various kinds of problems by the general public with various kinds of understanding, such as facts, concepts, principles, and procedures that come from various fields of expertise in the field of Social Sciences, for example Economics, Social Geography, Sociology, Anthropology, Social Psychology, History, and so on. The aim of Social Sciences is to foster the development of knowledge or insight into thinking and also personality in order to gain a more comprehensive insight into social thinking. Scientific truth cannot be separated from meaning and the function of science it self to the extent that it can be used and benefited by humans.
