It is discussed in this article the thematic of childhood in the work of Conceicao Evaristo, Poncia Vicencio , which can also be read as a breaking of standards by offering prominence to the child. As we will see, in this novel, the childhood of the characters transits historically between past and present, describing the different forms of learning, the games and frolics, fantasies, violence and oppression, in consonance with the identity inheritance of the characters, that, once adults, rethink the child’s look and feelings. In a society that prioritizes the point of view of the experienced adult, the small black child acquires centrality and is able to narrate the own paths, from their social, racial status and also their gender. As will be seen, a social critique of the slave-making past permeates the whole book. The novel is constituted from a sinuous structure, since its reading depends on the memories of the main character, who enters in several labyrinths until finding an exit to its suffering and prostration before the situation of social and racial inequality experienced by her and by her family. In this sense, Evaristo presents us the possibility of thinking infancy in a plural way, for it invites us to think twice about the conception of what the children’s universe is, beyond innocence, lost paradise, colorful toys, and standardizing school desks.","PeriodicalId":30964,"journal":{"name":"Anuario de Literatura","volume":"24 1","pages":"42-58"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49313268","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Aqui, fazemos uma analise das condicoes de producao e recepcao das obras das autoras portuguesas censuradas pela PIDE. Com um corpus que alberga todos os romances censurados de todas as autoras portuguesas, incluindo ainda pecas de teatro e poesia, procuramos os motivos que levaram a censura e analisamos o papel que a censura teve na delineacao do cânone literario portugues. O seu papel nao e mesuravel, quantitativo. Nao apenas teve a sua influencia sobre os livros que censurou: existem ainda aqueles que foram modificados para evitarem a proibicao e aqueles que nem sequer foram escritos. Para mais, analisamos as condicoes de recepcao dessas obras, ja que, se umas foram simplesmente apagadas, outras motivaram processos judiciais ou movimentos sociais de apoio. Esse ensaio tem como objetivo pensar a relacao que se estabelece entre a Literatura e a Historia, num debate a respeito do papel da ficcao e do sujeito historiador na producao do conhecimento historico. Para isso, mobilizamos uma bibliografia interdisciplinar, onde alguns historiadores dialogam com escritos dos filosofos Jacques Ranciere e Giorgio Agamben, com o mitologo Furio Jesi e com a psicanalise. In these works, one can find the description of poverty, slavery and other economic and social consequences of the end of the mining cycle, particularly in the Province of Minas Gerais, in the region known as the Triangulo Mineiro and Alto do Paranaiba, and South of Goias. The analysis focuses on the novels entitled O Garimpeiro (2015), O Ermitao de Muquem (1958) and O Indio Afonso (1900), and on two short stories, A Danca dos Ossos (2006a) and Uma Historia de Quilombolas (2006b) . In the first, I draw some parallels between Conceicao Evaristo's work Poncia Vicencio, comparing to other novels by brazilian black authors, signaling the contiguity of a dispersed, but communicating, set of novels that are interspersed by the romanesque genre and by the authorship of black women – as the pioneer Ursula, of Maria Firmina dos Reis, published in the nineteenth century; Agua funda (1946), by Ruth Guimaraes, the first novel by a black author published after the end of slavery; Pedacos da fome (1963) and Diario de Bitita (1986), both of Carolina Maria de Jesus; As mulheres de Tijucopapo (1982), Marilene Felinto and Um defeito de cor (2006), by Ana Maria Goncalves. In a second moment, I approach the concept of “escrevivencia”, observing its borderline location between fiction, realism and autobiography, emphasizing that the critical invoice of the concept generates an amplification of its respective scope. Finally, I highlight some lines of strength of the work, in order to emphasize its narrative power to forge and make visible the colonial counter-memories of the nation.","PeriodicalId":30964,"journal":{"name":"Anuario de Literatura","volume":"24 1","pages":"15-29"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.5007/2175-7917.2019v24n2p15","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41361168","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To help with the analysis, other concepts were also used: the concept of the dual formal structure of short stories, by Ricardo Piglia (2006); the precepts of historiographic metafiction, by Hutcheon (1989); and the concept of autobiographical fiction, by Perrone-Moises (2016). This analysis, typical of the hipertextual practice, allows us to observe how the short story retakes original statements to resignify and recontextualize them during the construction of its narrative.In this process, the short story by Joao Padilha shows, indirectly, the way the readers should read the story because it activates references that work as reading metaphors, as a way of going through Machado de Assis’s work/text through the principle of palimpsestic construction. Through this reading operation, the reader is invited to be a traveler, but she/he should, therefore, activate a determinate reading repertoire which equals to moving through a vast series of literary traditions.","PeriodicalId":30964,"journal":{"name":"Anuario de Literatura","volume":"24 1","pages":"146-163"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42346494","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
