Abstract

This article intends to discuss the use, in texts produced by black women writers, of natural elements that refer to women's resistance to the exclusionary realities and their capacity to act in the construction and transformation of society. For this, the tale Quem manda aqui? Will be analyzed in the book As andorinhas (2013a), written by the Mozambican Paulina Chiziane, and Sabela, by the Brazilian writer Conceicao Evaristo, a novel published in Historias de leves enganos e parecencas (2016). The study proposed here highlights the symbology of female and black resistance that Chiziane's swallows and the waters-reminders of Conceicao Evaristo evoke, helping to understand their literary project. In this sense, the reading of the works and the revision of the bibliography that she gave were guided by the studies of Maria Nazareth Fonseca (2014), Francisco Noa (2019), Pierre Bourdieu (2012), Assuncao Silva (2016), Ana Mafalda Leite (2003), Carmem Lucia Tindo Secco e Claudia Medeiros (2014), Mircea Eliade (1979) and Alfredo Bosi (1977).
