Interestingly again in Austria apart from being a secular country but it provides concern for Muslims to develop Islamic religious education there. Therefore, this study aimed to determine how universities in Austria prepared Islamic religion teachers at undergraduate level both in terms of models and curricula to face increasingly complex challenges and a growing number of Muslim citizens. This study used library research, while the approach used interpretative approach. The main reference source was the content on the university website that offers Islamic Religious Education programs. In addition, various sources lead to discourse and curriculum development in Austria. The number of data were displayed using descriptive statistics and described using descriptive qualitative. Then research design that would be carried out was to reveal the course content contained in the web and then reduced, especially in terms of the preparation curriculum for Islamic Religious Education teachers. Of the various courses presented were analyzed using content analysis where the important point was to take the most fundamental content that was related to the principles of curriculum development, namely contextual and responding to the challenges of the times. The results showed that the preparation of Islamic teachers in one of the colleges in Austria consists of undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate degrees. Undergraduate program of Islamic Religious Education consists of two models, namely Bachelor’s Program Secondary School Teacher Training (General Education) – Subject: Islamic Religion and the specific name is Bachelor’s Program - Islamic Religious Education. In addition, other important cases in this study are about teaching Arabic, including strategies to improve the quality of professional teacher competence and Arabic learning. The research design is quantitative descriptive. The population is all of MAN in East Borneo, and the type of sample is cluster random sampling. Data collection techniques are observation, questionnaires, and documentation, while data analysis is a Likert scale and Mean formula to show the general results obtained. Aceng Zakaria's thought of Islamic education which is focused on his educational practice to the Organization of Persatuan Islam (Persis) from 1975 to 2006. It's very interesting to study K.H. Aceng Zakaria's thought. At least, there are two reasons: firstly, there wasn't research which raised the aspect of Persatuan Islam's ‘ulama, especially in thought of educational domain, especially from the third generation. Secondly, K.H. Aceng Zakaria is known as an ulama’s of Persis who gives a lot of contribution in education not only the book but also his creativity to hold any alternative educational forum in term of providing people's interest to learn Islamic knowledge. As one of Persis's ulama , his religiosity's thought as same as other Persis ulama identical with purification idea which features as well as Salafi or salafiyyah movement. Based on this study shows, this movement often adhered to the number of stigmatizations, such as rigidity, radical attitude, and some of the similar stigma. The assumption justified when reading a book written by Tsaqil bin Shalfiq al-Qasimi entitled \"Rooting out Ahlul Ahwa and Bid'ah \". It's the difference from the stigmatizations, through this research, the writer concludes that the consistency of returning Islamic practice to al-Quran and al-Sunnah tends to push progressive attitude. It's proven through educational views of K.H. Aceng Zakaria which focused into an educational book written by K.H. Specifically, document analysis and interview were used to capture the characteristics of curriculum particularly in terms of its structure and development procedures. This research was done in four different Madrasah Aliyah in Samarinda i.e. Madrasah Aliyah (MAN) 2, Madrasah Aliyah (MA) Darul Ihsan, Madrasah Aliyah (MA) Al-Mujahidin, and Madrasah Aliyah (MA) An-Nur. The findings in this research indicate that all Madrasah Aliyah researched in this study have conducted suitable curriculum implementation which is in accordance with Indonesian Educational National Standards that include four aspects i.e. 1) subject course which is divided into compulsory and elective courses; b) local course which include local course programs and values; c) soft skills which contain enforcement of students’ interest such as in the area of language study, arts, sports, and theology; and d) life skills which comprise scouting program and special skills. In addition, the structure of curriculum of all Madrasah Aliyah in this study already contained the main objective of a proper curriculum including course subject, local course, soft skills, life skills, decent spiritual and social behaviors, and special skills. The characteristic of this pesantren is on its material development which is adjusted to the virtual students' needs with the use of appropriate language and relevant content so that it is easily understood. The problem occurs when the virtual pesantren raises an issue of the extreme purification practice that questions the authenticity of religion. This has led to a decline in the pesantren's historical vision – Islam and Indonesian (indigenous). The analysis of this study is descriptive qualitative. The report is presented in the form of a comprehensive and objective narrative based on data that has been classified and verified beforehand. Given these findings, pesantren is fundamentally built based on vision of pesantren which is tasamuh, tawassuth, and tawazun. A case study was done in this research in order to capture all of natural phenomenon happened in six different Islamic boarding schools in East Kalimantan particularly in Sabilarrasyad, Darul Ihsan, and An-Nur Islamic boarding schools in Samarinda, Muhammad Arsyad Al Banjari Islamic boarding school in Balikpapan, and Darul Quran wa Tarbiyah and Al Hidayah Islamic boarding schools in Kutai Kartanegara. Specifically, direct observation, semi-structured interview, as well as document study were applied in this research in order to figure out the implementation of teaching and learning of Tasawuf particularly in terms of curriculum applied, materials and media used, methods and evaluation utilized at above Islamic boarding schools. As the result, the essentials of teaching and learning of Tasawuf is directed through hidden curriculum particularly inserted in Akhlak materials taught by the teachers or what so called by Asatidz and Asatidzah at all Islamic boarding schools investigated in this research. Additionally, traditional patterns of Islamic teaching and learning of Akhlak materials are applied i.e. Bandungan , Sorogan , and Wetonan as well as conventional learning steps including Tarjamah , Pendhabitan Harakat , Imlak , Mutholaah , and Memorizing methods. Small difference in terms of media used among those Islamic boarding schools does not lead to significant highlighted aspect since all of the Kitab used is contained about Akhlak or particularly regarding with how to build positive characters, behavior, and attitude of the students. In depth interview was conducted to the top leader of universities in order to confirm the application of green campus-based curriculum especially on vision and mission. A set of interviews was also questioned to lecturers to obtain important information regarding with the employment of the model of curriculum related to environmental health they used in classrooms. In addition, supporting data about students from lecturers’ information was also occupied to enrich the data. As a result, the researcher found that all Islamic universities observed in this study imply green campus or environmental aspect points in university’s vision and mission. Less than 100% of lecturers are able to design learning materials related to environmental health as well as implementing it in classrooms. Less than 60% of students can produce environmental work arts as well as having problem solving skills toward surrounding environment. Above all, hose Islamic universities determine similar goals on green campus-based curriculum model i.e. to preserve the environment and aware of surrounding natural issues. This library research found that there are 412 articles related to the leadership of Kyai. Based on the inclusion criteria, there are 12 articles yielded as the material sources. The appropriate data found in the searching machine is analyzed accordingly to the research questions by employing a qualitative approach. Specifically, the types of Kyai leadership within Pesantren are charismatic, transformative, and democratic leaderships. The characteristics of Kyai leadership in Pesantren including having a strong and authoritative leadership character in maintaining Pesantren’s education and development; keeping the traditions, local principles and interacting with global values; having internal and external networks e.g a genealogical, ideological, historical, intellectual, theological, and spiritual networks in serving Islam and Indonesia. This research recommends for further researchers to address this study focuses on a networking of Kyai . Learning in boarding-based schools is one option to overcome character problems, especially disciplined characters. This research was conducted at MBS Muhiba Yogyakarta as one of the boarding-based schools in the city of Bantul, Yogyakarta. This research was a descriptive research with a qualitative approach. Data collection was obtained by observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. The instruments were interview guidelines, observation guidelines, and documentation guidelines. The subjects in this study were the director and teacher. Data analysis techniques used interactive analysis which includes; data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results showed that the strengthening students discipline character of learning in boarding-based schools was carried out through; use of the inquiry learning model based on contextual, Islamic habituation, one of rule, the provision of penalties and gifts, and role model. The obstacle reinforcement of strengthening discipline character of students at boarding-based school includes specific obstacles such as; difficulty in planning material concepts and difficulty in designing the flow of thought.
