Drawing on design-based research data from four different IS courses at our institution, in this paper we aim to map a pedagogical to professional case analysis genre continuum. We examine the expectations for student roles in these four different courses, where and how the case analysis assignments in these courses fit into the continuum, and whether they facilitate an effective developmental trajectory as a whole. Our analysis shows that our institution’s trajectory is mostly effective in moving students from pedagogical to professional roles, but could be enhanced with extra support for case analysis writing that falls in the middle of the continuum. We offer recommendations for how academic programs could leverage the value of the developmental trajectory to create a cohesive sequence across the four-year student experience.","PeriodicalId":30549,"journal":{"name":"Libellarium Journal for the Research of Writing Books and Cultural Heritage Institutions","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90861892","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this study, we developed the Portuguese version of the GraphoGame Fluent and tested its effects on reading, spelling, and phonological awareness. Second graders struggling to read were randomly assigned to two groups: GraphoGame Fluent group (n = 15), which received a computer-assisted remedial reading intervention, or GraphoGame Math group (n = 15), which received a computer-assisted numeracy intervention. An additional, non-playing group, composed by second graders without reading difficulties, was formed (business-as-usual group, n = 15). Results showed clear benefits of GraphoGame on spelling and phonological awareness. After the intervention and one month later, the GraphoGame Fluent group displayed spelling and phonological awareness skills similar to the business-as-usual group, and above the GraphoGame Math group. Overall, these findings indicate that Portuguese struggling readers benefit from computer-assisted interventions that combine letter-sound correspondences with more complex orthographic patterns.","PeriodicalId":30549,"journal":{"name":"Libellarium Journal for the Research of Writing Books and Cultural Heritage Institutions","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78373241","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

All of these aspects are typical for library events. This paper presents research into how travel-related events support a library’s mission, how they are organized, promoted and how users view them. Several studies were conducted in Mestna knjižnica Ljubljana (MKL) at travel-related events in 2015 and 2016, including interviewing ten librarians and four users, questionnaire survey with 160 participants and analysis of 129 travel-related events. The results revealed that travel-related events are frequently organized in all branches of MKL, they are well visited and users are generally satisfied with them. However, there is still room for improvement in organization and promotion of events. Furthermore, this paper argues that this type of event is a good opportunity to help fulfil the library mission and bring people into the library.","PeriodicalId":30549,"journal":{"name":"Libellarium Journal for the Research of Writing Books and Cultural Heritage Institutions","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44916451","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To obtain information about opinion of cataloguers and users, we used multiple data collection methods: observation, think aloud protocol and in-depth interviews. Four studies were conducted: among 30 cataloguers in June 2014 and 32 cataloguers in February and March 2016, and among 105 high school students in November 2011 and 108 adults in July 2012. The focus was on Slovenian catalogers and users. The results revealed similarities between users’ and cataloguers’ view of the most important bibliographic data for fiction. Finally, we propose attributes, considered as important from cataloguers’ as well as users’ standpoint. Most of them could be included in the bibliographic record, regardless of the cataloguing rules and practice.","PeriodicalId":30549,"journal":{"name":"Libellarium Journal for the Research of Writing Books and Cultural Heritage Institutions","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44451617","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The survey is based on selected readings, with an aim to offer simple insight into the main developmental trends of Croatian music but also into the pathways of its integration into the European musical tradition. Historical and political circumstances are considered where appropriate, which provides the possibility of comparing influences and outcomes of such circumstances in different developmental periods. Selection of literature greatly influenced the authors’ approach and provided main directions in defining settings and argumentation in this paper.","PeriodicalId":30549,"journal":{"name":"Libellarium Journal for the Research of Writing Books and Cultural Heritage Institutions","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42206559","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Ovaj nedostatak se pokusava nadoknaditi u sklopu vise istraživanja koja namjeravaju sakupiti i iz raznih aspekata obraditi hrvatska izdanja objavljena od kraja Prvog svjetskog rata do 2015. Cilj ovoga rada je opisati povezanost hrvatske pisane rijeci i formiranja raznih drustvenih/kolektivnih identiteta, a narocito njen utjecaj na nacionalni identitet hrvatske zajednice u Mađarskoj u zadnjih 100-150 godina. Referirajuci se na mnoga istraživanja možemo reci da je tiskana rijec igrala presudnu ulogu u formiranju drustva u zadnjim stoljecima. Sirenje i efikasnije raspacavanje tiskarskih proizvoda povezuje se s pokretima poput reformacije, raznih revolucija koji su uvelike utjecali na drustvo, korjenito promijenili odnose unutar zajednica. Pored toga, vecina istraživaca koji se bave s procesima nastanka raznih kolektivnih identiteta, npr. modernih nacionalnih zajednica (B. Anderson, E. Gellner, A. D. Smith, J. Assmann itd.), daju kljucno znacenje sirenju tiskarskih proizvoda. U spomenutom razdoblju se tiskaju knjige, izlaze razna periodicna izdanja na hrvatskom jeziku i, pretpostavljamo, ova izdanja dopiru do svojih citatelja. U ovom radu ustanovit ce se oni kolektivni vrijednosni sustavi cija je prisutnost potvrđena kod Hrvata u Mađarskoj, opisati zasto pisana rijec ima važnu ulogu u izgradnji drustvenih identiteta, te putem konkretnih primjera potvrditi postojanost takvih identiteta na stranicama hrvatskih tiskanih izdanja u Mađarskoj.","PeriodicalId":30549,"journal":{"name":"Libellarium Journal for the Research of Writing Books and Cultural Heritage Institutions","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47075119","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Traditional marketing strategies of publishers need to be revised in order to encompass information habits and competences of the new generation. Tapscott suggests applying the concept of a 2.0 (ABCDE) marketing based on the consumer behaviour of the new generation – anyplace, brand, communication, discovery, experience. This paper analyses websites of 14 Croatian children´s and youth publishers in view of the implementation of the 2.0 marketing principles and their orientation on that segment of population. Before analysing Croatian websites, an analysis was conducted on five British publishers with a longstanding tradition suggesting high quality of the business organisation. The collected data served as a reference to identify the 2.0 marketing principles on Croatian publishers’ websites: social engagement, branding, additional content, customization, an interface adapted to new generations, online communities and social networks.","PeriodicalId":30549,"journal":{"name":"Libellarium Journal for the Research of Writing Books and Cultural Heritage Institutions","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43888547","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The statistical analysis of losses in revenue incurred on printed books, periodicals and newspapers and gains in revenue acquired on online and other media books, periodicals and newspapers in the US publishing industry in the five-year period (2010-2015)was conducted. The results indicatethat theproliferation of alternative types of publishing revenues in the US does not substitute (‘cannibalize’) for the evident decline of revenues incurred from the decrease in sales of printed books, periodicals and newspapers. Accumulated losses from printed items in the five-year period (2010 - 2015) are more than three times larger than the growth in the new sector.","PeriodicalId":30549,"journal":{"name":"Libellarium Journal for the Research of Writing Books and Cultural Heritage Institutions","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47247137","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
