Pushkin «Mikhailovskoye», which possesses rich cultural heritage. Here many historical objects remain preserved: the XIVth century settlement, the historical road along which A.S. Pushkin passed during the period of Mikhailovskoe exile, the planning structure of the medieval posad, more than twenty objects of cult and residential architecture of the XVIII-XIX centuries, complexes of merchant estates. The material, presented in this article, was prepared based on the results of research, including field studies in the period of 2021–2022. The typological and architectural and artistic originality of the objects of the architectural and historical environment of Velje, their current state and potential possibilities for including them into museum-exhibition structure of the Pushkin Museum-Reserve have been determined. Project proposals are presented for the adaptation of preserved merchants’ estates for museums with the formation of expositions, that reveal the history and features of this part of the Pskov land, associated with the life and work of A.S. The main attractions of the historical center are described (in the UNESCO World Heritage List), as well as famous theater festivals and other events, that form a very powerful tourist flow to this city on the Ron – over 3 million a year. A well-developed system of internal tourist arrangement has been studied, this system allows to use the Old City territory rationally without damaging valuable architectural objects. The surroundings of Avignon are briefly described – a picturesque cultural landscape, saturated with interesting historical and natural objects. F. Katanov, in particular to his unknown clothing collections stored in the Russian Academy of Science's Peter the Great Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography (Kunstkamera) in St. Petersburg, collected by the traveler in the Minusinsk district, Uriankhai region and East Turkestan during his scientific expedition to Siberia and East Turkestan in 1889–1892. This region experienced intensive integrating of economic, trade, culture, including urban planning values. The influence of the political situation at different times of the Great Silk Road on changing the routes of caravans is stressed. The features of the design and planning of cities, arising from active trade, stimulating the development of craft production, agricultural crops and animal husbandry, are being considered. The mutual influence of the construction traditions of various Central Asian countries on the formation of the architecture of caravanserais has been studied in more detail.
